We spent four nights here from 8 September, as we had hired the motorhome for the week, this was the second time we had ever pitched in our lives! It was easy to find a pitch which was marked by a stone and we were adjacent the bottom road which is really access only to the car park of the site. During the week it was lovely and peaceful, the views are absolutely amazing and an absolutely wonderful place to be, so close to the fleet lagoon and within easy walking distance to Ferrybridge which gives you access to the Rodwell Trail taking you right into Weymouth. We even walked from the site to Portland Bill on the Dorset Coastal path. I cannot comment on the showers as we used the one on the motorhome, the loos were very clean, showers looked clean to but you need a token from the office or the bar.

As mentioned by many, the mens showers are very dated and are in need of a big revamp. I had a wait for these for every day. I did have a 20 min wait one day as they were being cleaned at 9am! Not very helpful during the summer holidays when everyone goes for a shower around this time!
There is also the 20p charge for showers which are either scalding or freezing and dirty. The box is on the outside of the shower cubicle meaning you have to get undressed first before putting the token in. They are also very cramped for getting changed in afterwards.
Signage to the site is awful. We ended up in the main tourer part of the site before we asked someone where the reception was. Also on site there are no signs for the washing up facilities at all, even on the site map given to us on arrival.
The tap in the tent field didn't seem to have a drain which meant there was regularly a lake underneath it.
There were no lights at all on the site which was a big problem with a young child.
On the positive side the views were stunning

What a nice location for a touring site, shame about the facilities.
There is one toilet/shower block for the site and everything is on a slot meter, ( even the iron) all which could do with updating.
The pitches are small and cramped. The only rule which is strictly enforced is that your jockey wheel must be on the small marker stone.
The bar is very noisy and often went on till midnight.
The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of shops/pubs/attractions and with a little TLC and money spent this site could be excellent.

As mentioned by others, the location of this site is wonderful. Camping in the top field, my tent was pitched opposite a break in the hedge so that I could wake up looking out over Chesil beach and the sea - a lovely view.
The site is best described as 'still in the sixties'. I can't comment on the ladies' facilities, but there are two gents showers for the entire site - both of which could do with updating.
The onsite bar is pretty cramped and, if you want to lose your hearing, you can go to listen to one of the regular live singers that they have performing. The prices in the bar are very reasonable though.
It is a 10-15 minute walk to the bus stop that runs between Weymouth and Portland every ten mins until midnight, and a 200 yard walk to get to the coastal path.
All in all, the price is average, the facilities are below average and the location is above average.

The site is very well situated near to weymouth .
The site does slope so is better suited to caravans more then motorhomes but we got a very nice pitch at the bottom of the slope overlooking the sea so we were happy.
There are 4 or 5 deer that can be seen running on the field opp the sea which I sat and watched quite often.
The shower and toilet blocks were adequate but could do with more showers in there as there is only 2 in the mens for the whole site so there is queing at peak times.
The site as said before in good for dog owners as there I a good field at the bottom of the road near the sea where the dogs can run free.
The bar looked busy most of the times but we dident go in.
All in all, I woudl give this site 6 out of 10

Good value, overall its a nice site, we had a lovely pitch at the bottom of the slope with great views over the beach and Portland. We were very lucky with the weather too. It was perfect for us as we have dogs, theres plenty of great coastal walks and a lovely village with all the essentials. Only criticism would be the entrance to the touring field, I recall it was a bit narrow and tight swinging a caravan in & out of so if they haven't rectified it by now, its something to watch out for especially if you have a longer van than our little 2 berth !

This could be a lovely site as it's in a fantastic location close to a little village. We used the village facilities regularly as the on-site one's were lacking. If there was a bit more time, effort and money put in to it, this site would have it all. It obviously hasn't seen any modernisation for a number of years and the condition of the facilities reflect this. Rusty and dirty wash facilities were just the start of it. The signpositing to the site is awful and when we arrived it had been raining heavily. There are no proper turning around facilities on the site, so after you have been to reception you have turn around on a steep grass slope. Not easy with a 20 foot tourer on the back! I was very disappointed by this site overall and I would definitely not return until a serious amount of money was spent on it. I feel that as long as you book early enough, there is better out there for your money.

Lets get the bad stuff out the way first. We booked a pitch with electrical hook up. When we arrived and got positioned we wanted to hook up but was told we could only hook up to one of the pillars which was quite a way, our lead was not long enough, a gentleman from one of the statics said the owner would lend us an extension so off my partner went to get an extension, back he came with the owner who said he had none left, there were other electrical hook up points near our pitch but he told us we could not use them and we would have to go into the town and get another lead. Off we went into the town spent £25 on an extension cable when we returned other campers had turned up and took our electrical hook up point off my partner went again to the reception, this time a lady came over to sort it out we explained what had happened earlier and that we've spent 25 pound on extension cable blah blah she then said why didnt you hook up to the electrical point near our pitch and we said the gentleman earlier said we could not and she replied that she did not know why he had told us that and we could hook up to it so we spent £25 on nothing.
The site was in a nice position over looking chesil beach. The camping area is not entirely separate from the statics there is a row of statics all along the field, if you are lucky to get a pitch around the edge it would not be as bad but we were in the middle of the field. The town was about a 25min walk down hill getting back up is another matter. There is a bus service just outside the camp but that stops running about 5.30pm. The ladies shower/toilet block was quite nice and it looked clean, 20p for a shower which gives you about 5mins and the coin box is on the outside of the shower. My partner told me the mens showers were not so nice. Weymouth town is nice good shopping centre, there is an Asda as well. There is a little convenience store not far from the camp site. There is a nice walk as well from the camp site overlooking the sea and chesil beach. There is a bar on the site but we did not go in it. Ithink if we stayed here again we would book a pitch around the edge and I'd advise bringing an extension cable just in case!

Not the easiest site to find and even when we found it we went to the wrong part, I had to ask people staying on site where to go as there was no-one in reception. There was no shop on site and the play area was really small and not very good, I never saw it but the 4 children we were with only went once and couldn't be bothered with it after that. The toilets and shower block were combined and weren't particularly clean, not only that but having paid to stay on the site, we then had to pay to have a shower. It was only 20p for 5 minutes but that wasn't the point. The worst part was that the all the facilities were near the reception and were with the caravans. Those of us in tents had quite a walk uphill to use the loo, my children were devastated as this was our 1st camping experience (they have said that they never want to camp again). I was told by my friend that it wasn't up to the same standard as the ones from the 'camping and caravanning' club. There was one tap which was at the entrance to the bit of field that the tents were on, so carrying water back was hard going as we were at the bottom of the hill as all the other places were taken. The owners obviously hadn't been prepared for the pre-warned appauling weather because the field got so wet and muddy that the cars couldn't get up the hill and out of the site. My car was covered in splattered mud due to car wheels spinning, the storm happened during the night and it was half way through the next day before rubber mats were put at the entrance so we could 'escape'. We knew the storm was coming and had strengthened the tents in advance so you would think that the staff would have known. The Dorset coast is stunning and I'll definitely return to it, the children loved Monkey world and Weymouth carnival was fantastic. Unfortunately the weather was so bad that we saw very little of the place but we did manage to get to Durdle door and Lulworth cove - WOW! I will definatetly pick a different site to stay on though.

Pebble Bank has great views of not only Portland but also Chesil beach, the on site ammenities are very clean as is the rest of the site. The roads on the site can tend to be a bit steep, the camping field is narrow and slopes down, but its about the only time I've been taken by the marvellous view as I entered the tents area. A very nice site, set in a beautiful part of the country well worth a visit.
