Good place for a site, overlooking Chesil beach. Came here 10 years ago, sorry to say the shower block is no better, next to useless. They need updating, you always seem to be waiting. The site bins always full, on the touring field there are little pot holes that you keep twisting your ankle in. Some of the static owners are not nice,so be warned. On the plus side, lovely shop in the village (not one on site). You can walk to Weymouth if you want. Asda just down the road. Enjoyed our time in this area but will not use this site again.

Set in a lovely position overlooking Chesil beach. Tent field is sloping but pitches are level, great views if you can pitch where there is a gap in the hedge. You have a long walk to the one toilet and shower block, and don't forget your 20p for the shower and hair dryer. The toilet block could do with a bit of updating and wasn't as clean as it should be. The site is about a half an hour walk to the Town and harbour, where you can catch the Condor Ferry to the channel Islands or France. The South West Coast Path is a 5 minute walk away. There is a lovely Village store in old Wyke Regis which is a 10 minute walk. There is no shop on site, but you can get gaz and a freezer service. We didn't use it but there is a Bar open in the evening.

Good, friendly site. Bit of a walk from the tent field to the toilet / shower to find that you need a 20p piece for a shower, cue a 10 minute walk to my car to get cash and then around the site to find someone with change. The showers are not very private either, just a pair of louvre doors with a 2 inch gap in the middle. Believe it or not you also have to put a coin in to use the electric shaving point! (bet they don't make much from that). On the positive side it has stunning veiws of Portland and Chesil Beach and you can walk into Weymouth in about 25 mins (there is also a fairly regular bus stop 5 mins from the site). Overall a nice site which we would use again.

Lovely site. Pitched on top of hill over looking the Chesil Beach. Ideal for walkers as easy access to costal path. 2 min drive from Weymouth marina and a large Asda. Small rocky beach 5 min walk suitable for rock pooling and dog walking (no sand). Weymouth beach 3 min drive away. Ideal for access to the Weymouth Middle Distance Triathlon. Very friendly lady in reception. Maybe not suitable to the less fit (hilly) but for triathletes - no problem.

A very nice site that had excellent views over Chesil Beach and to Portland. There is a very nice walk round to Ferry Bridge on the coastal path. There are frequent buses into Weymouth Monday to Saturday only up to 5.30pm. It's taxis or a hike after that. There is only the one shower block and, although clean, the showers (20p for 5 minutes) are a little heat temperamental and you have to be alert not to get burned or freeze depending on the mood of the shower unit. The staff were very helpful especially as this was only our second time away in the van and are still learning the etiquette of camping sites.

August 2004 This site is great for caravans but not so brilliant for tents. The tent site slopes although the pitches themselves are level. If you end up with a pitch at the bottom of the hill, you face a hike all the way up then down a fairly steep slope the other side to the toilet block and then back again! Only one washing machine and dryer for the whole site - not good - last August when it rained for most of our 2 weeks there. No shop onsite although they do sell small gaz cannisters and will freeze ice blocks for cool boxes. Very good little general store in the nearby village. Clean site and friendly owners but you want to be fit if you're bringing your tent. The views across the harbour and to Portland are amazing.

September 2004 Nice clean site with brilliant veiws A nice little well presented clubhouse with a good range of drinks. Very close to Weymouth itself but more of a bus ride than walk. Site on slope so chocks required. Quite surroundings allthough site could be noisey at times. We had a nice stay

September 2002 The site staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. There is only one toilet block, is very convenient for the static caravans but quite a walk from the tent field (particularly in the middle of the night). The site is on quite a slope, however the tent field has been terraced so that the pitches are level. We don’t know what the caravan pitches are like as we didn’t look. A short drive into the centre of the town, but the area is quite hilly so we wouldn’t want to walk it. Fantastic views over Chesil Beach and Portland Bill. Plenty to do in the area.
