Arrived at this site late on monday evening after driving to other camp sites which were all booked lucky for us we came across Hawkchurch and they had room for us in the meadow which we found had lots of space great views.
The showers were clean also the washing up area was clean too! The staff we met were all very friendly. Also I felt very safe at this site as we were given a code to enter late at night.
Overall I would definitely return also recommend to others 10/10!

We left booking our holiday late in the year and due to the size of our tent we felt lucky to get into Hawkchurch Country Park as it is now known. However when we arrived we were sent to a small area for EHU for the tents, sadly due to the wet weather prior to our arrival the spots left were very wet. Thankfully, we asked to go into the nonEHU side and poked the cable through the fence, we then had a very large pitch with plenty of room to spread out and for the children to play. The site was not full for tents and lots of people were arriving and leaving the whole time we were there. There also did not seem to be any time limits on arriving or departing.
The only facilities on site we used were the toilets/showers as we preferred to eat at the tent or out most days, as it was easier with 3 young children, and visited the supermarket in Axminster.
The weather whilst we were there was great and the beaches surrounding Hawkchurch are lovely, esp Charmouth and Lyme Regis.
Whilst we will be returning to the area probably not to this site. There was no lighting on the non EHU field and we felt they the tents were put 'out of site out of mind'.

Having read some positive reviews on here thought this would be better. Nothing particularly poor but nothing particularly good either. We had a very small pitch where a poorly located young tree made manoeuvring difficult. Hook up was between pitches so didn't really have room to put the awning up. Not all pitches as cramped but few were spacious. Shower block OK. Staff friendly enough. Shop poor, not even a Sunday newspaper to be had. Didn't use the bar but it looked decent enough as did the rally field. Never found the advertised woodland play area (suspect this was where the new dog walk was being laid out). No open space on-site for kids to blow off steam. Very quiet. We won't be returning but I got the impression lots of people do.

My partner, my dog & I stayed at Hunters Moon caravan park near Lyme Regis for 6 nights & even though we did not have the best weather {especially at night!} the site seemed to make life a lot more comfortable.
The shower block and toilets are immaculate, well spaced out and very well presented. The bar is nice if you fancy a quiet drink or a meal and the shop provides you with most of your essentials, although I would liked to have seen a bit more camping equipment {butane cylinders} etc. The laundry facilities are great and easy to use and don't cost the earth.
We stayed in the non electric camping field which is well maintained and is only a short walk from the toilets.
The area is ideally located with loads of country walks and pubs nearby & a welcome reception awaits you at 'Ye Old Inn' in Hawkchurch. Lyme Regis is less than 10 minuites away, Axminster is a short drive and has all local amenities, visit Branscombe, Beer, Weymouth & Torquay they are well worth a look, we even travelled to Looe & Polperro in Cornwall it took us 2 hours from the site & we really enjoyed it.
We would definitely go back to Hunters Moon our only criticism would be to try not to mow the fields at 8.30pm-9.30pm when your trying to sleep after bad weather, of if small children are trying to sleep, but in all a very good site with friendly staff, we would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break.

Have just spent a lovely four days at this site and cannot recomend it highly enough. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and a well stocked shop thats open nearly all the time. The toilet blocks were some of the best I have ever seen. It has a well stocked bar and the food in the restaurant and takeaway was excellent value and large portions too. Plenty to do in the area with Lyme Regis only minutes away, Bridport about twenty minutes oh and nearly forgot they have an adults only section, heaven. We will definitely return here.

We stayed at this site for 3 nights camping. Lovely peaceful spot with well kept gardens. Shower block and toilets nice and clean, and plenty of hot water after a hard days walking.
They also had a well equipped shop with friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed a night in the bar restaurant, prices seemed very reasonable.
Intend to go back again soon with some friends.

We stayed at this site for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though the weather was atrocious. Our pitch was on the adult section of the site, it was large enough for the caravan with awning and 4x4 alongside (the pitch was grassed and bordered by shrubs). We were in close proximity to two toilet blocks both finished to a very high standard and cleaned regularly with plenty of hot water and good showers etc. There is a bar and restaurant plus a take away food outlet (we used the bar but did not use the restaurant or take away) the shop was adequately stocked and very friendly staff in attendance at all times. There is also a dog walking area adjacent to the site entrance. The location of the site was approx 4 miles from Axminster and close to Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth.etc. Overall our stay a Hunters Moon was very enjoyable.

Just got from a week at Hunters Moon, I found it by doing an Internet search, staff were very friendly when I contacted them and on arrival. However, when I made the booking I was told I would be in the rally field and saw that this field had protection. On arrival we were put in the touring field and I know you cant predict the weather but the wind got up and our tent was like piggy in the middle! But we survived! Facilities were nice and clean but then the site was empty. The only annoying thing is that they are obsessed with cutting the grass and every day somebody was cutting it and they were going close to the electric cables for the hook ups.
Lyme regis is beautiful!

Stayed here for 2 nights in June. We had a tent pitch with electric hook up and there was plenty of room to put up the tent and have the car by the side. We were close to one of the amenities blocks which had free showers which were kept very clean. Enjoyed using the restaurant and bar in the evening which we thought was very reasonably priced for good food and large portions.

A fantastic and friendly site! The staff in the bar were very helpful, They even let me put my laptop on charge when in the bar! Plenty of space for tents, and the site was well maintained with excellent shower facilities! I Will definitely be going back soon!
