This is one campsite NOT to miss.
Loads of space, 2 ponds and great family run business.
Our first time here was only for 3 days, ended up staying 8.
What can I say but wow, clean and tidy nothing its to much bother.
In the past 3 months we have been to this site around 5 times.
Like home from home.

We stayed here for 5 nights on plot 6. This site is absolutely brilliant. The service pitches are huge. And I mean HUGE. A lot of thought has gone into this site, Sarah and Richard obviously know what people want. The fishing is 1st class, I fished the lake near to the vans, and although I didn't catch a ' double figure' fish, I caught plenty of 5-9 pounders. And boy do they fight, it is a case of the proverbial ' screaming reels'. We never got to meet Richard, so can't comment on him but Sarah is one very funny, caring lady, nothing was a problem with her. We will definitely go back again and again.
The toilet block was so clean and tidy, no litter anywhere. It did get a bit windy, but then this is the fens and flat. Market Deeping is a really lovely market town, and very friendly people. We walked down the main road and were always spoken too, even if it was just a quick hello. Blimey if we did that at home People would think we are out to mug them.
Thank you Sarah & Richard for giving us a relaxing time. See you again soon
Steve & Chris

A warm welcome a waits you by the owner on arrival. The site is tidy and well kept. The shower block is spotless. You could not wish for a better site to stay at.
The fishing good. The fish we caught had no hook marks. All in good condition.

After A Change Of Plans At Last Minute And After Ringing Sarah The Owner Of The Site, We Booked Our 1st Night Away In Our Caravan. We Have Been Here Before In Our Tent Last Year And Although Nothing Has Changed, It Is Still A Great Place To Stop Over. Very Clean And Tidy, Well Kept Grass And Lake, Nice Quiet Relaxing Place. On Site Toilets Very Clean Along With The Washroom And Showers Block.
Look Forward To Our Next Stop Over :-)

Just spent an enjoyable 18 nights here on a huge hard standing super pitch with great views over the lake, spotless facilities, great fishing, also a good location for stamford spalding, market deeping etc. Well worth a visit if your looking for a site in this area. Nice walk up to the river for both people and the dog owners amongst us,

We only stayed here for two nights as it was a quick break but were very impressed. The price was very good as well.
The only problem for us was trying to find the site, our fault as our satnav isn't up to date and we kept being directed to a new housing estate (note to self - use a well-known satellite mapping site next time)! After asking a local (thank you whoever you were!) we eventually reached our destination after half an hour of driving around in circles.
This site is very 'off the beaten track' and I'm not sure we would have found it in the dark!
There is a barrier at the entrance which you needed a keycard to operate and you also had a key for the toilet/shower block. As there was no-one around we had to call the site owner who made her way quickly from their house and pointed out where the facilities are etc. Sarah showed us how to use the EHU unit and the prepaid electric card.
The site is very flat with several hardstanding areas perfect for campervans/caravans and the rest is grassed. There were plenty of EHU units which also incorporate a water tap which was brilliant - no hunt the water tap! - we also liked the light on the EHU unit which made it easy to see of a night-time and so not reverse into.
There is no dedicated play area for children but unless the site was full of families this shouldn't be a problem - our kids are adults so it didn't matter to us.
There were only 2 other caravans and our motorhome on the site when we visited so it was extremely quiet. We parked next to the fishing lake which attracts lots of wildlife especially ducks and geese which take off first thing and then seem to arrive from nowhere in the evening to 'park up' for the night! The noise was incredible and then just as suddenly stopped :) We were also treated to swallows feeding over the water and bats of an evening - a rare treat. The sunsets were incredible.
There is a very short dog-walking area on the site - despite this our dog managed to catch and kill a rabbit within 10 minutes of our arriving at the site and being on a lead at the same time (our sincere apologies to the other campers and the owners. ) So be warned!
The toilet/shower block was brand-new but only had two showers in and three toilets so if the site was full it could have been a problem? The showers were free but push button every 20 seconds which you soon got used to.
We appreciated the large selection of leaflets in the wash-up room (which is enclosed and joins on the toilet/shower block)and it was interesting to see other's comments in the visitors book.
We came to this area to visit some of the airfields and can recommend RAF Spilsby (dog-friendly) who were very friendly and it was a very interesting visit. You can easily spend a whole day here. It cost us £7 each to get in and parking was free. Nearby was RAF Conningsby which was closed to visitors due to an upcoming air display but you could park opposite (free) or along the perimeter fence, along with a lot of other fellow enthusiasts, and watch the planes coming and going.
We visited Thetford Lodge which is a Forestry Commission site but thought the parking was very expensive at £2. 10 for an hour but if you wanted to be there all day it was £11. Dogs were allowed on lead.
If we were up this end of the country again we would definitely use this campsite again and recommend it to others as a base.

As per all previous reviews a great site, hard standing, 16 amp ehu metered approx £1. 50 per day for normal usage, freeview/sat reception fine, shower block immaculate and new, 2 showers in each. Local village 2. 5 miles away where you will find a post office/small shop and 2 pubs. Nearest supermarket in Bourne approx 6 miles. Stamford well worth a visit and they have a market on Fridays, also has a Morrison supermarket. Spalding has Springfields retail outlet for those in need of retail therapy. If you want a quiet site with a great view of the fishing lake from some of the pitches this is the place for you. If you've got kids be prepared there is nothing on site for them so pack something to entertain them.

Absolute gem of a site, Sarah was at the barrier waiting for us, let us through and put electric on the meter for us (without us paying, as then). Saved a lakeside pitch as requested too, Sarah helped us out with a map (lost ours), and couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. All hard standing at the front, field at the back where the kids played footy, nerf firing each other etc. Key for the immaculate shower facilities, only gripe is for a small person, the shower head was too high and water sprayed around me, not on me. But was nice a hot. Ladies, 2 showers, 2 separate sink cubicles and 3 toilets, men's the same. Chemical loo facilities at same block as loo's along with rubbish bins and motorhome waste disposal. Definitely returning. Cant wait. Value for money, £15 a night, 2 adults, took extra child so 3 kids, perfect. Thanks Sarah

Spent the weekend here From Friday 9th to Sunday 11th of August 2013.
We only live about 30 miles away, but to get away for the weekend it's close enough to get there on a Friday night after work but far enough away to make you feel like you've had a nice break.
What a cracking site this is.
On arrival pressed the intercom button at the entrance barrier and was told to find any pitch and they would come and see us shortly, there was only one other unit on site!
Pitched up with no problem the owners were on holiday but everything was perfect.
The toilets and shower block are very clean, but also brand new, time will tell how other people treat them, hopefully as they would when at home.
There are only 2 shower cubicles and 3 sinks in each of the ladies and gents blocks(I think that's right the wife couldn't remember) the sinks in the gents are not enclosed.
The showers are the push button type and there is no temperature adjustment. They run for about 20secs. This doesn't bother me in the slightest I just keep pressing the button, but I do know of others who don't like this type of shower.
The limit of two shower cubicles could possibly mean a wait if the site is full, but there are only 41 pitches and a lot of them are for Caravans/Motor-homes so if on board bathrooms are used this might not be an issue.
The washing up area is fully enclosed and clean, washing up liquid and cloths were provided, a very nice touch.
There could be room to put a Freezer in here for swapping ice packs, I didn't actually see anywhere you could swap ice packs at present. For our cool box we didn't need to swap any for the weekend so it didn't effect us this time.
The site is very new and hence very little shelter as it's all open fenland, once the plants have established that potential issue should be resolved.
We didn't use the electric hook up but this is done via meter. You pay for a £3 or £5 card which slots into the power point connection, I would make sure you get you card in the right meter so you don't pay for another pitches electricity :-)
There are plenty of places nearby, and if you want fantastic fish and chips, head into Market Deeping to Linfords, about 5miles away. Award winning and very nice there are too!
There is no child's play area and if the site is full that could also limit them running about and just playing, even though the pitches are very big.
Over all a fantastic VERY quiet, flat and peaceful site.
Well worth the pitch fee and another visit, even though we live so close.
Highly recommended.
