Very friendly guy who runs this campsite, eager to help you in any way he can.
Nice clean toilets and shower block and a little play area which my 3year old really enjoyed, was very surprised to find out that he did not charge for electric as this is not normally the case in a lot of campsite I've used.
Kingsbridge is only 2 mile away and has a tesco and a morrisons supermarket there are also takeaways aplenty.
It is also I nice little town and well worth a walk around.
I did find Salcombe to be a very busy and pretentious place but Dartmouth is lovely and well worth a look.

Road noise! Having been kept awake until past 1am due to the constant noise which included motorbikes racing into the small hours and rumble strips directly outside the site, to being woken at 5.30am by the lorries and tractors crawling up the slight hill, we decided although we had paid for a full week we weren't going to stay.
We were slightly concerned from arrival about the road noise as during pitching the tent we could hardly hear each other due to the constant traffic. On speaking to the owner asking if other people had mentioned the traffic his reply was 'what do you expect, it's a working community'! As we were outside the school holidays I'd hate to be on site when the holiday traffic is at it's busiest.
The showers were good but small. I put my clothes in a carrier bag on the hook but not my towel and the towel was quite damp at the end of my shower.
Wi-fi reception very poor.
You can get to this site without having to go on any of Devon's narrow lanes, so if caravans are better sound-proofed than tents this would be a positive.

A really nice quiet site. All pitches have electrical hook up and on the weekend we visited it was very quiet so there was lots of room.
Great views over the countryside and a great location to visit the local area. Really handy for Kingsbridge which has a Morrisons and lots of other shops and facilities including a farmers market on every other Saturday.
The shower block on the campsite section was more than adequate. There were a couple of large shower rooms which I think are meant to be Family shower rooms but as it was so quiet we used them as the individual showers were a bit pokey. There were two loos and two showers in the ladies and the same for the men, and then two of these family areas.
Very powerful showers with plenty of hot water, they were spotlessly cleaned and there was loads of hand soap and loo roll.
We didn't meat the owner as my in-laws checked us in as they arrived before us but they said he was very friendly and talked to them about how eco friendly the site was.
We had wi-fi which was £5 for the week and the money is given to charity.
There are no facilities for rubbish on site, you can buy a bag from reception for £1 a bag or take your rubbish with you.
All in all a great stay and and a great little site. We would definitely return.

Visited last week of May, leading up to Bank Holiday weekend.
Owner very helpful and friendly with good suggestions for days out.
Easy access to Blue Flag Beaches.
Additional toilet block opened on Friday of Bank Holiday weekend. No electric razor points.
Owner has no recycling facilities and requests that rubish is sorted and taken to the recycling facility in Kingsbridge, one mile.
Morrison's Supermarket in Kingsbridge.
There is a reasonable children's' playground which did not appear to be used since there were plenty of open spaces for children to play ball games. During our visit there were many children who were well supervised and entertained by parents.
Site can be exposed to winds, but has fabulous views across the valley, and seasonal caravans had straps to hold their awnings down. Our awning survived windy conditions with just the normal pegs but will buy screw-in ones for our next visit. Some tents with the thin round tent pegs did not anchor very well.
Local pub in Churchstow, one mile, served good beer, cider and reasonably priced meals.
For those who enjoy walking there are a number of coastal path routes with pubs en route.
Excellent site and highly recommended with easy approach and access.

We had four nights here and really enjoyed our stay. The pitches are level and the grass was neat
There is a room for the kids with table tennis and a football table – great if it is raining.
The site is ideally situated for touring local places and attractions. Being pensioners we took full advantage of our free bus passes and left our vehicle on site. There is a bus stop nearby that takes you into Kingsbridge where you can get a connection to many of the surrounding areas including Salcombe, Exeter and Dartmouth. The Tourist Information has a bus timetable for the whole area that you can purchase for 20p
The owner, James, is very friendly and informative.
If I was to write any criticism it would from my husband he said there were no shaver points. He used a mirror in the van as we had an electric hook up
The site is clean and well looked after I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area

Parkland has well kept level pitches with good views of surrounding areas.
The shower/toilets overall were clean, but could do with some curtains/blinds up at doors as a little uncomfortable having a young childs face pressed up against frosted glass checking if facilities are in use.
Parkland have a 'green' recycling policy, which if recycling facilities were on site and not a car journey away (not sure how 'GREEN' this is) would be an excellent idea. There is however the opportunity to leave landfill rubbish with owners at £1 abag (supplied) for them to dispose off. Over all a quiet site.

The site is in a convenient location and generally well kept. However when we were there, OK height of season, the pitches were far too cramped.
Don't take a pitch near the road, although there is a low grass bank between the pitches and the road, the traffic noise led us to ask to move.
The owner was accomodating and even helped us move the tent.
The toilet and showers, whilst generally clean, were too small and cramped and are in need of rebuilding.
All in all had a good holiday, but won't be returning.

Parkland was a very nice relaxing campsite in the rolling hills of Devon. The kids especially enjoyed the trampoline.
However, the web site's definition of modern is different from ours. The toilet block though definitely clean was in need of modernization. The games room also was just one rusty football table that you couldn't use and an aging ping pong table.
However, the surrounding area is lovely and we would advise anyone to stay in that area of Devon

I have been to this site a few times now and every time we go James has made us feel very welcome. The site is clean and well looked after I would recommend it to anyone to give this site a go. I have three children and we find it very friendly, the children love to play on the trampolines and also it is very close to the lovely beaches of south hams.

Just returned from an eight night stay here and really enjoyed our time at this site which is ideally situated for touring local places and attractions, we were met by the owner, who was very friendly and informative, He walked us around the site to show us where to pitch, shew us the facilities and explained the situation regarding rubbish disposal and recycling. we were left to pitch up and get ourselves sorted out before paying our fees. Our pitch was spacious, level and the grass was neat. We were concerned by the threat of flooding considering the recent bad weather but the site is situated quite high up so we were fine in that respect but the track through the site got really muddy after a night of heavy rainfall. The water taps and electric hook-up points are all easily accessible. Unfortunately I have to say that I find the description on the website regarding modern facilities to be a bit misleading, in fact I would say that they are in need of modernisation and some attention to detail. The tiling on the walls and some of the flooring is very poorly done, with grouting left on the surface etc which attracts dirt and traps hairs etc. some of the tiling is coming away from the walls, the quality of the decoration is very poor and it gives the facilities a very shabby appearance, however on the positive side it was really nice to find a site that has full bathrooms, although there are also separate toilets and showers available on site. There was always plenty of (soft!) toilet tissue and handwash in the washrooms etc but I didn't really like the idea of towels for hand-drying these were dirty most of the time because of the amount of people using them, getting dropped on the floor etc, but they did appear to be replaced regularly. Hot water was available most of the time but ran out on a couple of evenings that I was aware of, but the site was almost full. The facilities were clean on the surface, i.e. Toilet bowls and sinks but wall tiling and backs of toilets were missed, so in need of a thorough deep clean. The pot-wash area also contains a micro-wave and fridges & freezers and this area was always clean and tidy. Having free use of a microwave was a god-send for me as having a son with special dietary requirements, meant I could refresh his bread and microwave some of his prepared ready meals easily. The laundry room was in good order and in fact improvements were being made to this area when we arrived, the machines appeared new and were the best we have used on any site. There is no free rubbish disposal on this site, waste can only be disposed of in the black sacks available from the owner at £1. Each, otherwise you need to take your waste away, recyclable items can be disposed of near by in Kingsbridge. The children loved being on the play area, especially the trampolines, 2 additional new trampolines and a goal post appeared one day so improvements were evident there also, I was however concerned by the play area being right next to the entrance and main road and also out of site of the tent pitches, we were constantly walking around the site checking on the kids (who wanted to be on there all the time we were on camp! but old enough, age 8&10, not to need total supervision). There is no shop or bar/clubhouse/pub on site or walking distance, the nearest are all in kingsbridge a short drive away, so the site has a lovely peaceful, quite and calm atmosphere. This site is situated by the road however so you do get some traffic noise, but generally quite a quiet site. All in all this is a good site with so much potential, the positives far out-way any negatives.some improvements were being made and any reported problems were dealt with promptly. I really hope that the owners continue to do so, I would love to return to find fresher looking amenities and perhaps the play area being re-sited in the centre of the park away from that main road. We would definitely return to this park if in the area again.
