This is a lovely site with one of the friendliest and helpful owners that I have come across.
Plenty of electric points around this flat field which is surrounded by beautiful trees.
Close to Thame and 20 miles from Oxford.

We were lookiing forward to visiting this site for a one night stopover going to swanage, when we arrived the owner was out and we had a job finding our designated pitch, when we did find it there was no hook up point near enough and could not get in touch with owner.
Fortunateley the people closest to us had a spare hookup lead and very kindly let us borrow it for the night, also we were under the impression that there was a pub within 15 mins walk, when the owner got back he gave us a rough map of directions over the fields to the pub, but when we tried it it took us through a farm yard and and couldn't follow the map from there so came back and drove to pub.
I know that these thing may be not a problem to some people, but I was panicking because I wanted to get plugged in to electric to get the fridge cooling down

Management response: If I’m not here I put up a reserved sign on the pitch.
Just finished putting in 34 sockets for 20 pitches, can’t go wrong now…..
Incidentally the ’rough’ map is a Google earth photo with the path clearly marked on it. Can’t think what else I can do. |

Well this is a site you don't want to tell your friends where it is. Its peaceful its wonderful, The ground is well cared for and is cleaned up daily if needed.
Owner and Warden very friendly an always ready to share local knowledge. Wife and Daughter like bird watching, we didn't have to go off site for this Red Kites circling the site all day and The Warden gets food out for them so had the odd ones on site as well.
There is a dog walk that circles the campsite if Pooch needs that last run out at night. There has been so much said about this site I'm not repeating what has already been said.
Peter the Site owner. Lyn the Warden thanks for everything we hope to see you again next year.

Lovely Peaceful site! This site is set back from Thame in a remote village that only has one road in and out, so no passing traffic! We have stayed here a few times and we can't fault it.
Yes there are some workers who stay on the site, but they are lovely and out all day and go home at the weekends.
You wouldn't know they were there! The walk to Thame is through the fields on a well made footpath, and Thame is a lovely farmers town with a market on Tuesday. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from.
The Thatch is exceptional, although more expensive and the recently taken over fish and chip shop, opposite the main carpark, is really good! If you really fancy a relax, then you can walk (or drive) to the Oxfordshire Golf Club which has a spa and is very reasonable for treatments and day guests!
Plenty of walks to be done in the Chiltern Hills! Can't recommend this place enough and we are going back again next week!

This is a really lovely site for a short stay, and must rate as among the most tranquil we have ever stayed on. The site is a very large and beautifully kept field behind the owners house with trees all around. There were about 8 units when we visited, but most of them seemed parked up with no one in residence.
All units were well spaced out and a lady greeted us on arrival and gave us directions to walk to Thame. We had a lovely peaceful time, there is really is no noise, apart from a few planes. There is plenty of bird life around the site - we had several sightings of red kites. We ate in Thame both evenings of our stay - the Spread Eagle Hotel on the High Street does good food starting at around £10 and we also ate at the James Figg, again good food but very noisy and crowded.
There is a Waitrose and Sainsbury's for stocking up. The Phoenix walking/cycling Trail runs close to the site. We only walked along it a little way, but I think it goes all the way to Oxford (14 miles). We felt the site was a little expensive at £12 inc electric, given that there are no facilities, most of the non-facility sites we stay on are £10 or less.
We couldn't get a decent tv signal, which didn't matter as we had plenty of books. If you need internet access, ask for the password and it will work close to the house. The owner is intending to put in shower facilities, great for longer stays, but it will be a shame if it means the site becomes more crowded and noisy.
There is nothing for children to do on site at present, and personally, I think this would make a lovely relaxing adults only site.
