We recommend this site - pleasant location between Canterbury and Herne Bay with easy access from the both the A299 and A28, friendly, helpful owners and nice clean toilets and showers (two of each for men).
The only downsides are that the EHU are in the middle of the field so make you feel exposed in a small campervan (we did without in the end and had a nice pitch between a hedge and tree on the camping side) and the showers are very small so its impossible to shower and dry yourself without getting clothes damp and shoes soaking wet (this wouldn't matter in the summer with just shorts and flip flops, I suppose). However small points and generally an excellent site we would visit again with pleasure.Oh yes and there are some very fine pet rabbits, small kids play area, and picnic tables scattered around the camping area.

We happened across this site whilst we were touring south east UK on our motorbike and using just our map book to show us where camp sites were.
We were very pleased with this site - the owner was very pleasant, the site was well looked after and the facilities were spotlessly clean. And a fantastic pub is just a short walk away!
We have visited a number of sites on our tour and over the past years and although this site was a little more expensive than some - it was well worth it. I would have paid the pitch fee just for the use of the facilities.
This site had caravans and tents - but as it is quite small it is a great place to camp without feeling like you are in the middle of a caravan development!
Absolutely no complaints and we will definitely return should we find ourselves in Kent again.

March 2005 We kicked off the season at this site, based largely on previous reviews, so thank you for that. I agree with much that has been said. It was nice and quiet, apart from the lovely birdsong! The showers (2 in both the gents and the ladies) were free, but they are the sort where the hotter you want them, the less powerful they become. Beware of loose jewellry etc! The plughole in each shower was a fair size and didn't appear to have any sort of mesh to prevent objects disappearing. The shower cubicles were also a little small.
We camped during Easter week when it was a bit nippy, so some heating in the wash block would have been appreciated. With only three sinks in each section, I wonder how busy things would get when the season really gets going? The washing up sinks (again, only 2) were OK, but were not under cover.
There was a lovely pub literally within 100m up the road which serves food as well as drink. Its gentle candlelit atmosphere was a nice place to keep warm and relax of an evening.
Overall, then, this was a nice site (level and grassy), and the owners were very friendly, but I think it was a bit on the expensive side of things at £14 a night for two. (Awnings, electric hook-up, more than 2 people were all extra.)

aug 2004 First the good news - a lovely little site 'twixt Sturry and Herne. Level grassy site - with wooden picnic benches at each tent pitch! Toilets very clean, with a couple of showers and three basins. bare brick walling seemed a bit basic. Field surrounded by trees or high hedges gave it the impression of being really secluded. Wash-up facilities and washing machines were very good. Pity there wasn't a little shop as it was a reasonable car trip to Sturry or Herne village.
The bad news? Well, there isn't any really - unless you count an odd car or two on the adjacent country lane, a few aeroplanes (particularly at night) and lots of birds- mainly pigeons! We found it a site well worth visiting again.

Easter 2004 This was our first camping trip of the year and what a great way to start the season!
Small and private, the site was perfect for the quiet weekend away we had planned, and a welcome relief from the commercial package other sites in the area offer.
Walks in the nearby wood and the stunning surrounds make it the ideal retreat.
We loved it!
