This was our 1st ever camping trip and this site was recommend to us by a family member who also came along for the weekend.
The park is very clean but the showers and toilets could do with a bit of updating but this would not put us going back there.
The owner was very friendly and helpful and said we could pitch up wherever we wanted too.
The bonus is that the owner of the site also runs the pub right next door which we ate in on the Saturday night the food was good but being in a rural area was a bit pricey.
In our party there was 6 kids and they loved the open space and the kids play area located in the Pub grounds. (Kids age from 3 to 12)
The site is very close to Fishers Farm which was a massive plus for the site as if you have kids you can spend a whole day there and our kids enjoyed it so much they are already asking to go back to the camp site and fishers farm.
In my opinion this site make a great place for a couple of days but not for a long stay if you have kids.

We haven't visited Limeburners for a while but glad we came back for this May Day holiday. Three caravans with elec at £17 inc each, which is very good value.
The site has been tidied up a lot, which is nice, and each pitch has a tree for shade (some only small at the mo.) The pub serves excellent food, and real beer (but could do with a decent cider).
The owner has always been very helpful and accommodating (we had half the site taken up with a our 40th birthday several years ago, and he was great).
The toilets and showers are a little dated, but very clean (except the towel in the ladies) and well kept. Only one washing up sink, but very hot water usually available.
The playground isn't really meant for kids on the site, just whilst in the pub, so there is nothing there for kids, except space to place, fresh air, and some lovely walks. Fisher Farm is nearby for a good day out (our friends have kids and have visited there twice).
The local shops are good (you park behind Budgens) and there is a good butcher in a small precinct on the northern end of town. There is also a Sainsbury on the way to Petworth.
There is some road noise due to the bypass nearby and some planes going over, but the lovely dawn chorus made up for it
We'll be back soon.

Nice, quiet, clean campsite.
Each pitch was separated by a tree and we were able to put up a pup tent at no extra cost - as long as we stayed within the pitch area. Some pitches were completely filled with caravan, awning and gazebo/additional tent.
Toilets were basic but clean and in good repair, showers were 20p for 3 minutes and had a good strong flow of controllable water. Unlimited hot water for washing dishes and a separate cubical with sink for a quick wash with no charge.
Beer in the pub was very good, I believe stored on wood barrels. Didn't eat but the pub seemed busy and doing a good trade - always a good sign.
Our only complaint was the children's play area, which is not on the campsite and not visible from the campsite, but within the pub's own grounds. This meant children playing unsupervised or we had to sit in the pub garden with them - not by our tents where we had the luxury of our own facilities.
Plenty of supermarkets close by (by car), no shops within walking distance. Also lots of villages in the area with shops but parking would have been a problem - even driving through some villages was 'interesting' at times.
Horsham has a lovely park with large children's play area, toilets, skateboard area and swimming pool (indoor and outdoor), good shops in walking distance from park. We could easily have spend the day there, Hove Park in Hove is also good for children, with free parking for 3 hours.
Also, the pub had fee Wifi! We didn't know before-hand but realised that the next pitch was using Skype!

This site was hard to find but well worth looking for.
The site was quite and relaxed
The a joining pub was great as was the kids play area.
The on site showers etc where basic but suitable for our needs there was a shower block with washing sink for dishes etc
The owner was a gem taking time to answer any questions and help us in any way he could.
I will be using this site next time I'm in the south for sure.

This was the location of our first camping outing, and was a good test as only half an hour from home. We stayed for the Friday and Saturday night.
Very polite when I booked and took my details. Said we had kids and the lady said a lot of families stayed there.
When we got there at 3pm the pub was shut and no one was around to tell us where our pitch was. A couple of friendly 'regulars' told us that we should just pick a pitch, which we did. When the person from the pub turned up at 4.30ish she was very polite and there were no problems at all with where we had chosen. She did however say there was no booking for us in the book! Could have been a problem if it was busy!
As previous people have said this is a good site, with clean facilities, and also has the pub which serves excellent beer and food. Also in the pub garden was a playground for the kids.
Our only slight disappointment was that our kids were the only kids on the site but this was probably partly due to the time of year.
There is a fair bit of road noise on this site from the adjacent B2133, and also from the A272.
We were in a tent, and it was one of only 3 on the site. In addition to this there were a few camper vans and also lots of permanent caravans where people seem to live permanently.

Fantastic little site. We were very lost and saw the sign. As we were on motorbikes and it was late we were ready to camp anywhere!
But we couldn't have found a better little site. The sign said full but the landlord welcomed us in but warned us we may have to move (which never happened). Yes the showers and loos are basic but the water was hot and the fact is they were fine. The showers took tokens but lasted well and to be honest tokens do stop long queues! But best of all the pub was great. Fantastic food and beer and warm friendly atmosphere. We couldn't recommend the place more! There were some lovely walks around the area too. Next time we go we'll take the kids too!

Good clean site. Basic facilities, but perfectly serviceable.
3 showers - 20p for 3 mins or so. No shelves though, so don't bring too much in with you!
1 washing up sink - could really do with another
Toilets - 2 sinks, 2 cubicles
Wooden children’s play area
Owner very friendly and trusting and did not hassle for payment - £12.50 per night (for tent)
Chopped and change our booking a few times - was going to be 4 pitches (tent), then went down to 3 then 2, then back up to 3 (but 2 tents and 1 camper) - always a problem when booking for a large group! Owner was very accommodating throughout process.
Some of the regulars on the site were a little annoying.Yelling out 'helpful' tips when we were setting up.But they soon got a bored.
Very quiet at night.
Would come here again, if in the area.
No shop on site - Billingshurst itself is difficult to park in - but there is a Tesco and Sainsbury's about 10 mins away

Fabulous site.
Yes the showers and loos are basic, but they were always clean and the showers great value and we never had to queue.
We spent the final May Bank Holiday there and we did get a bit flooded! Probably our fault for pitching a bit close to the roadway. The owner did suggest we could pitch up a little further back. Like the other reviews the landlord is a really nice chap and very easy going, always pleasant and friendly.
Have tried to return but they are always full so booking is obviously necessary.
Limeburners pub is very nice - food is lovely and plenty of it.
Across the road is a public footpath with access to some lovely walks.

Have just returned from a three-night weekend at Limeburners in a touring caravan, and will no doubt return in the future. We paid £12.50 for the pitch with hook-up.
It was fairly full when we arrived with a mixture of tents and caravans. There are also some touring caravans there with an apparent degree of permanency about them, which belong to some workmen who are working in the area. The pitches vary in size, and I suspect that the larger pitches have gone to those staying there on a longer-term basis. The pitches are flat and there is a wide gravel roadway down the centre of the site. It did rain twice whilst we were there and the pitches did not become waterlogged at all. I think there were around 40 or 50 pitches.
The toilet and shower-block are very basic and dated. You still get three minutes hot water for your 20p as previously mentioned in a review. The washing up sink is also rather basic but does the job if you choose to use it. ALL of the facilities are spotlessly clean even though they are dated. We never had to wait for any of the facilities.
The pub itself serves an excellent pint of real ale from the “Fullers” brewery. (I recommend the “Chiswick”). The couple who have run the Limeburners for the last nine years are to leave at the end of this week, which is a shame as they were very helpful, nice to talk to and ran a good pub used by both locals and those camping there. We sampled the food and there were generous portions with lots of fresh veg. Only opens afternoons for three hours and then re-opens around 6pm to 11pm.
We found that it was a great location to stay as it was within easy striking distance of the coast and inland places such as Petworth and Horsham.
The other local pub that we went to was the Blacksmiths Arms in Adversane (about a mile up the road) and the food there was good. There is also a restaurant in the pub. The landlord serves well kept and superb “Harvey’s” ale.
All in all we enjoyed the stay and will be going back at some stage but I think a long weekend was enough, I could not do it for a week or more. The workmen staying at the site leave between 5:30am and 7:30am and the vehicles they use are kept by their pitches and so if you are a light sleeper, you will be woken up.

Was attending a wedding in the area and stayed here. Suited us down to the ground as walking distance to Billingshurst. Site is basic but clean and facilities again basic but clean. Nice views over the fields. Landlord/site owner - very pleasant and no rush to leave on departure day. Didn't get a chance to try the pub but if was very pretty looking from the outside. Only downside was that the statics there could do with a sprucing up and when you initially drove in it looks a bit untidy with all the gas bottles, etc outside their units but it was a lovely quiet site and would definitely go back there
