Have just returned from a long pleasant weekend at The Limeburners Arms. Sadly the weather was awful, but as we were in a crowd it helped dull the pain! Nice site, small, fairly well kept, showers/toilets are basic but adequate, and clean. 20p gets you 3m.7 seconds of a shower, 2x20p gets you 7 minutes of shower, good value for money, and nice and hot!
Owner/landlord of pub is very nice, very laid back, Didn't rush us for payment, prompted us to get tent up quick before the rain really hit us! Had nice hour or so in pub, very quaint, nice atmosphere. Food a bit pricey, but apart from that we had a very enjoyable time. we will certainly go back.

June 2004 Very pleasant site. Owners relaxed, great for us for weekend camping, can leave when you want on Sunday, no midday departures enforced. Lovely looking pub with good beer, food a bit ordinary and expensive for pub grub. Camping £9.50p a night. Hook up available if needed, we discovered the fridge where you can leave your ice blocks - no charge. Not a noisy site when we were there, very much enjoyed our weekend. Basic faciities, take 20p for showers. Quite a few long term caravans parked permanently. Great situation for visting Arundel and surrouding area, River Arun fishing, boat trips, etc etc.

August 2003 Found out about this campsite from this very website. All that has been said is little far from the truth. The facilities, if a little basic, are clean and all 'work' which a bonus. Great food in the pub (if a little expensive!!) Definately a site for kids as the gate always closed and all residents friendly! Would go again.

July 2003 I visited Limeburners with my 2 sons. We arrived on a Friday and stayed until the Monday. I had a tent pitch with for 4 persons and the cost was £9.50 per night which was great.
During Saturday the site was at full capacity, so it's worth pre-booking or calling on a weekday.
So site is well run and the standard of cleanliness is acceptable. Plenty of hot water in the washroom, and the showers cost 20p. This lasts for approx 10 mins which is adequate for a good shower. Best to get in very early morning or late evening to avoid queues.
Limeburners pub itself is very relaxed and the atmosphere is a friendly one. There is a small play are for the children, but plenty of benches in the front garden to eat and drink. The menu is not one of the most extensive I have seen. Once I had compared their food to other local pubs, I did find them not such value for money. But on the whole it's handy when you have kids and you are hungry.
I would definately return to Limeburners because it's such good value for money. Billingshurst itself is quiet but there's a good pub there called the Six Bells. They serve some great food, and have a really tidy quiet front area which is both in the sun, but well shaded under their huge parasols.

20 July 2003 Visted the Limeburners based on the reviews on this site and everything was as we expected. Quiet site, basic facilities and a great pub. Only downside was the site being almost full and little room for the children to play games etc.
Would go again but probably for one or two nights only.

22/03/03 Well I said above that I would visit this site again, well I have. I made it back to Limeburners for my first camping trip of the year and am glad that I did.
Everything I said above stands, except maybe the waterfight, it was a bit too cold for that. But the site was still as pleasant as I remembered and the pub was still serving fine ales and a great pub menu.
I will be back again. (Watch this space!!)

July 2002 I spent a lovely weekend at this site with my two children 7 and 3 and my wife. The site was well organised with designated pitches. There was a handful of electric hookups, so well worth booking in advance if you need electric. The site itself was clean and well maintained with the facilities being of an adequate standard.
There was space enough for the kids to ride their bikes and cool off with a water fight and there was a designated play area in the garden of the attached pub which had full access at all times of day.
Most importantly the pub, a very peaceful and friendly pub dishing up many fine ales and a massive selection of home cooked food.
I would visit this site again.

This is one of my favourite camp sites for a weekend break, in the summer. There is not much around in the immediate proximity, but all you need is really there. Which brings me to the fact that the the site occupies a field behind the Limeburners Pub, and it is run by the owners. There is an office behind the pub, but if it is closed you need to talk to the people behind the bar, who will sort you out.
The site itself is surrounded on three sides by farmers fields, last time I visited they were full of rape, gloriously yellow! There are only about 40 pitches and it is a very quiet site, the road it is on carries little traffic.
There is an adequate toilet block with good hot showers, although there is a small charge (I think it was 10p). The block is a bit basic, but clean. There are electricity points on nearly all the pitches. There is also a chemical disposal point, and a washing up area.
The pub (you new I wouldn't stay off that subject for long!!) is friendly, and serves great food, and quite a range of good tasty ales. If you want a shop the nearest is in Billingshurst, about a five minute drive, but once there you'll find lots different stores. There are also a couple of restaurants, and pubs.
Billingshurst is probably not a great place for a day out but if want to go exploring, it is a great base for the Downs, and about 17 miles from the beach at Bognor Regis. It is also very near to Horsham, a lovely market town, with lots of old buildings, and a good modern shopping center!!
