July 2005 Have just spent 2 lovely weeks at this site, weather brilliant which of course makes all the difference. Obviously if you choose this site you already know it has no shower block or other facilities - that is the attraction. The site is immaculately kept by the friendly, helpful wardens. Very good security. Very easy to get on all the pitches. Agree about the narrow lane, but no trouble if people arrive and leave at correct times. Also easy to miss the name of the lane when you first arrive as there is no caravan sign.
The pitches on the site are really well laid out around the edge of large lawned fields, plenty of space, not looking into other caravans.
We took our bikes and if you take them 10 minutes by car to Sunbury Lock on the Thames you can park free there on the road and use the brilliant Thames Cycle Path. The Weir pub on the river is recommended too.
Some days we went one way to Hampton Court and on to Kingston on Thames. The other way brings you down to Chertsey (via a ferry from Weybridge - £2 each, saving a boring bit of road cycling).
Lots of opportunity for really good boat trips on the Thames from Walton on Thames and Chertsey to Windsor etc.
Thre are plenty of shops in Walton on Thames, + supermarket Sainsbury.
We would definitely go again.

This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Site.
I had a business reunion in Surbiton, and this site was very near, so we decided to have a weeks stay and see places within the area without going into town.
The lane into the site is quite long, and not wide enough to allow two cars to pass let alone caravans. In busy times I'm told, the safest way is for your partner to walk to the end of the lane to stop any one entering before leaving with the van.
David and Maureen, the site wardens, were very friendly, and we were told to park any where. There were pitches free by the river, and that is where we unhitched and plugged into the hook-up point. There are no facilities apart from the water tap. Although it is a large site (100 pitches), there are no toilets or showers, so basic is the word, but the view was good and peaceful. There is a recreation room, but nothing was happening at the time we were there.
I think it rained every day at some point, and I mean rain. I don't think I will be going back, unless there is another reunion in the area. Of cours, if you like the races, Sandown Park is close by.
