We loved this site!
We came here on our maiden voyage in our campervan (a step up from our tent). We always search for sites that allow fires, children and dogs and now we also have to search for those that allow campervans!
I spoke will Sharon on the phone and she told me there is no shower block or electrical hook up, my reply was 'that is why I have picked you!' There is, however, a lovely clean toilet block.
The site is well maintained with fantastic views. There was plenty of room for the girls to play and they made good use of the various games available on site (the tennis rackets were a favourite).
We had a drink in the local pub, although we did not eat there, the smell of the food was tempting us.
Sharon and Ian could not have been better hosts, they are both very welcoming and you soon feel like you are chatting with old friends, rather than the campsite owner.
The site is really well situated to visit the wonders of Derbyshire.
If you prefer a campfire over a shower and a fantastic view over a club house, this is the campsite for you!
We shall return…

This is a lovely, relaxed site with fabulous views over the Derwent Valley. Whilst the facilities are basic, they are very well looked after and there are lots of thoughtful extra touches to make your stay extra special. Sharon and Ian, the owners, are very friendly and we felt very looked after. It's lovely to be able to have campfires and you can buy a wheelbarrow of wood and kindling for only a fiver.
For those who prefer you can hire very funky bell tents for a very reasonable price per night.
There is no specific play area, but there is plenty of room for kids to run around on the large, well kept field. Lovely walking very close by. Dogs on leads are made very welcome. This is a place we'll visit again and again.
If you like luxurious all singing-all dancing facilities, this site is not for you - but if you like low key, funky and chilled surroundings - it's perfect and our ratings reflect our preference for this style of camping. Value for money at £10 a night.

Spectacularly beautiful location and locale. Delightful hosts who could not be more helpful and very clean toilet block. No showers or hook up but tranquil and great pub about 1K up the road.
We will definitely be going again.

A great site, exactly what I was looking for at only £10 a night per pitch. It is basically a clean and tidy field in a quiet location with great views. Nice relaxed atmosphere, loads of space, pitch where you want and campfires are welcome (no charge for the firepits and £5 for a wheelbarrow full of wood. ) They also do a central campfire on a Saturday and provide marshmallows.
Yes the facilities are basic, and there is no electric on site at all, but there are proper toilets in a former stable block and all was kept clean. Showers (at the time of writing) were solar shower bags left out in the sun, but I think they were looking for a more permanent solution (the site only opened less than 2 months ago).
We took the Hymer but the pre-erected bell tents actually looked very appealing! Note that I managed to find them on Facebook for pictures and details after Google coming up blank.
I'd definitely return to this site!

What a great camp site! Toilets and washing facilities were good. Sharon can't do enough for you. Tent was up when we arrived. There is a central fire pit. There is a local farm shop that provided breakfast and bbq packs. Plenty of space for families and their dogs. We will definitely go back. Its a new camp site and the owners are open to any suggestions to improve it. But personally it's got everything required for a weekend of camping.
