July 2005 Very friendly campsite, plenty of room on the tent field and toilet block situated between both caravans and tents. (unlike some sites where the toilet / shower seems to be furthest from those who needed most!). Has a small play area, although this could do with a tidy up under foot (lots of weeds). The bypass is very close by, but this never bothered our 4 year old son and he slept through the night on the two nights we stayed there. Toilet block was kept very clean and even though the big dustbin became full late Saturday night, the bin fairy came and deposited some small black bins!

July 2005 We chose this campsite as it was local and we wanted a practice run before going too far from home.
Agree with other reviews. The staff were really friendly. Campsite well kept. Toilets were clean but old and really could do with updating.
Main problem was the noise. Shame that the campsite is so close to the main road but it really does get noisy. My boyfriend said he wasn't too bothered but it really got to me.
No pubs, ameneties near by but Chester a very short drive.
In all, not bad but shame about noise!

July 2005 Large level field, great for bigger tents. Toilets / showers old fashioned but kept clean enough. Small childrens play area - very old and run down with thistles amongst it and no soft landing surface. Wardens friendly. There is lots of security on site, everything is locked and you get 4 keys on arrival, one for the main gate, one for the tent field gate and one each for the ladies and gents toilet- bit of a pain but apparantley they have had trouble in the past with joy riders around the site. The site is next to a very busy motorway and there is a lot of road noise through the night but we got used to it after the first night and it did not spoil our stay. Good location for Chester, Cheshire oaks but no shops / pubs close by.

August 2003 & July 2004 Very friendly owners that are always ready to lend a hand if needed. Next to busy bypass but traffic noise is not too disturbing (and I'm a light sleeper!). Definately recommend as not far from Park & Ride for Chester City Centre which is A LOT cheaper than parking in the centre.

May 2004 A nice site. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Our friends had a caravan and we had a tent and although the tents and caravan pitches are separate they sorted us two pitches at the edges of each field so we could be "neighbours". Friends had problems with their electrics on the caravan and the owner was extremely helpful. Although the site was next to a busy bypass, this did not spoil our weekend. Site was clean and had a children's play area.

June 2003 Clean and friendly site, security excellent with locked gate and swipecard on barrier - only downside was quite a lot of continuous noise from nearby main road.

July 2003 Good secure site with very friendly owners. Dogs exercised off site, but nowhere local for them to run off-lead.
No immediate pub or restaurant and the Park + Ride to Chester only half mile North.
