Spent 3 nights over the early May Bank Holiday weekend and had a great time.
Arrived on the Friday afternoon and were invited to pitch either on the grass or on a choice of 2 vacant hardstandings. Having had bad experiences of wet grass recently we chose the hardstanding - it was a great little pitch with closely mown grass alongside, separated from the neighbouring pitches by small bushes. It also had electric hookup as well as a water tap. The grass pitches were level and the ground seemed quite hard so don't think we would have had any problems on the grass pitch.
We found the facilities to be very good with plenty of hot water for showers and washing up.
With having the motorhome we tend to stay put once on site but spent the 3 days walking on the beach directly opposite the site entrance. The dog had a great time - sometimes with all the beach to himself!
At high tide the beach appears quite rocky with lots of pebbles, but at low tide there are miles of flat sand.
Very quiet site with mostly static and seasonal caravans, more suited to couples rather than families as there didn't seem to be any facilities for children, although there were a few children on site.
The site is very well tended with plenty of accessible water taps. There is a laundry room with boxes for recycling.
Thought this was a great site and would definitely visit again.

Visited this site in April 2010 and first impressions of a high standard were soon found to be worthy. Met with Colin and Linda (site wardens) and with their local knowledge we were pointed in the direction of places to visit in the area. Caravan was spotless and the site was generally well maintained. Walking round the site we were impressed with all aspects and noted how hard the site wardens worked to keep up the high standard. Toilet and washing facilities were excellent for tourers and campers. Close to the beach which was great for walking and flying our kites. Will return again in the near future as it is very central for touring in this area.

A immaculately tidy and clean site. Level pitches with own tap and electricity. A small play area. Beach minutes away, great for dog walking. Not really much for the kids to do, more a peaceful adult site. Washing up area locked after 9pm which was dissapointing as we didn't arrive until late. The locked entrance barrier and toilet block did worry me a little as to why? but the site is to be recomended for cleanliness and friendliness of owners.

After trying lots of sites in the area we found Rowanbank just a short drive south from Silloth had vacant pitches. The price was very reasonable for easter and we stayed 3 nights, the site is as good as any we have stayed in and is very peacefull there were children there but all seemed to be ok.The lady in the office was very friendly and showed us to the pitch which had its own tap as well as a powerpoint there is a nice garden center down the road and the beach is 2 minutes from the site. We would recomend this site and we hope to go there again this year.

Spent a couple of night on this great little site. Pitch was really level and gave a comfortable base for tent. Easy access to electric hook-ups if need be. Very clean toilet/shower block and friendly staff. Very quiet during stay - with majority of people being in caravans, however there were one or two tents pitched. Silloth town is just a couple of minutes drive away, and beach is over the road. A great base for a short break away.

We have just had a weekend on this site. Its definitely not for children but for adults who are looking for a neat and tidy site with exellent clean facilities you won't be disappointed. There's no night life but if you are a twitcher, sea fisherman, cyclist or like me enjoy flying kites, go there. Its two miles south of Silloth and the surrounding area is as flat as a pancake, but it has stunning views of the Solway Firth and Scotland, its about 100 metres across a road from the stoney beach and you can walk for miles, so if you have a dog take it along. We shall be going back again when we feel the need of a quiet relaxing weekend!

May 2004 Spent 4 nights here, it's a very well run site, very clean and tidy with great staff. Clean shower and toilet block.
When we where there it was very quiet, there is a lot of statics and seasonal caravans there. Just out the gate and across the road and a short walk and your on the beach, the tide goes out a long way but the views were great.
It's very easy to get to the lakes from there.
