We've been to this site twice now and this year 2004 will be my 3rd. If you're into camping, fishing, and walking then this is the place for you.
It's off the beaten track 5 miles from Kirkcowan the nearest village but the shop can't do enough for you from fresh daily bread to ordering your morning paper for you.
3 lochs for fishing, one fly only (black loch)one in front of the site for coarse fishing and the other for pike, fly fishing from boats only but available for hire plus take your tea home.
For the kids theres a free indoor heated pool to use,which can get crowded but go early or at meal times and you can have it to yourself.
The nearest hotel/pub is Torwood hotel, thats an experience in itself and I won't spoil it by telling you why! If you don't fancy driving give the manager Dave a ring and he'll pick you up and take you home when you can't walk, great food and nothing to much trouble!
