I had visited this site way back in 2003 in a touring caravan and had a great time. The facilities where first class and the pitches were on nice soft grass. On my recent visit I used a tent and discovered that things have changed. The touring pitches have reduced and been moved to a hard standing area with the old pitch site now full of static units. The toilet block which had three showers and several toilets has reduced in size to having only 1 shower and two toilets for males which I have to say weren't the cleanest and could be doing with an upgrade. The only constant were the staff on site who were friendly and helpful at all times but despite this I won't be rushing back.

Just back from wonderful bank holiday weekend at this campsite. Touring pitches fine - maybe a little squashed together but right next to playpark so great for the kids. Beautiful beach behind the park and great cycling - to Cawdor and in Culbin Forest. Entertainment at night OK for the little ones - wasnt too loud or too long. Would visit again.

I have just returned home today from my 20th visit to Nairn Lochloy, and I must say, it keeps getting better and better, the only problem we had with the site this tiem round was the caravan, yet it did not spoil our wonderful week.
The main complex consists of a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, solarium, main club / bar, resteraunt / bar, games room / arcade, male and female toilets, a small supermarket and of course, the recpetion. All of these venues arre clean and hygenic and I could only think of one fault, and that is that the changing areas for swimming are too small.
The site has three playparks, although most people have only visited the main two as the third one is not well known and it is mainly regulars who know it is there. The first playpark, which most chidlren use, is the largest, with plenty for the kids to do it gives hours of fun.
The second is smaller but it is for infants and toddlers. It is great to keep your very little ones amused.
The third, which is rarely used and pretty much abandoned has a small play train and a few climbing things, it is at the very end of the site, where as the mainparks are right next to the main complex.
I could not fault the entertainment, not one bit. There is a kids club in the morning and afternoon which all children seem to love, and it is on again in the evening. There is a disco which runs from about 6.30pm to around midnight which has stacks of entertainment throughout. This includes the evening kids club, adult cash bingo (over 18s only), kids bingo, fabulous party dances that keep everyone amused, a live cabaret, adult games and occasionaly the entertainment manager and his/her team put on a show. This last week I was there, there were 2 different shows, both absolutely hilarious!
I give my praise to Paula, the entertainments manager and her team, Becki and Tommy.
Locally, there is alot to do, fishing, beaches, shopping, family walks and golfing are to name a few. I can't write alot about these though as I am rarely off of the site when I go there.
Well done to all the staff at Nairn Lockloy for yet again, a wonderful holiday!

We booked this site in the hope of good weather this year! This was our first camping holiday as a family with our new tent. We booked a serviced plot and I'd read the reviews on here so had remembered about the pitches being hard. Brick hard in fact.(Packed the "hard ground pegs") The "touring" pitches are set near the roadway leading into the campsite and we found this not too bad. There wasn't a lot of traffic and as we weren't there in the daytime it was okay. Their is a nice play park for the kids and the beach isn't too far away either. The site has a pool which is good and there is a games room. There are two bars one is quite nicely decked out and they serve food here. The on-site chip-shop isn't open every evening but we found it reasonably priced. The entertainment was good for the week we were there. Kids club in the morning for an hour or so. The staff were really nice. At night, bingo and then something for the kids and then an entertainer. All free(well almost- by the end of the week I realised that everything was a pound - a pound for this and a pound for that!) One disappointing thing was the shower block. For the males it was 2 toilets(WC) and one shower! in a bath. This was to serve 12 plots! Come on. Please put in more showers. A couple of urinals would have been good. The local hoodlums had got in and smashed the place up one night but the staff got to it and had it good as new the next day. In Summary :- Great site, Good location. Pitches are rock hard(remember your hard ground pegs) Toilet block is not good at all(wish they'd do something about it) Staff were helpful and friendly. **** 4 out of 5 from me.

What can I say about this site, well. There was 1 toilet block for all the tourers with 1 shower which I found unbelievable especially in the summer. Also every time we saw the cleaners they were always sitting talking so therefore the toilets were always dirty. The tourers part was very tight as we had a family in a tent pitched in front of our caravan. We made many complaints and so did other tourers. The surrounding area was lovely, the beach was beautiful just a pity about the site and there entertainment which was the worst. We will not be in a hurry to travel up there again but we did get compensated with a free holiday to Tummel Valley which we are just back from and that was lovely. Happy Holidays people xx

Well glad we went for a week rather than two weeks! Caravan spotless but at what a price. Entertainment was pathetic, entertainment manger needs replaced to be honest. No mad party dances for kids, karaoke advertised every night (didn't happen once!) and oh yes cash bingo where even the kids are allowed to play.. Only allowed in the pool for 1 hour, and as youre trying to shower and dry people are trying to change to go in. Changing far too Small. Touring area was cramped. Disappointed with Park dean for this one as we have visited Sundrum Castle and the touring pitches their are spaced well with great facilities.
Good thing was access to the beach over the sand dunes - literally a 3 minute walk and the sands are golden and glorious, we sat on the beach in the rain whilst the kids flew kites and the younger ones buried their feet in the sand

For those campers seeking a quite retreat this may not be for you. It has all the accessories of a "holiday park" and there are only about4 pitches for tents tucks right away down the bottom. This said the facilities were v clean and the washing and laundry facilities great, especially when you have been camping for a while to be able to check all the laundry in and have it done in 1/2 an hour. Nairn is a lovely little town with really nice pubs and restaurants. Also as the site is right on the most amazing long beach a walk out the back of the site over the sand dunes is well worth it.
This site is very family orientated but clean and nice - as it is close to the village and is quite large there can be instances of things going missing so lock all valubles etc in car over night.

September 2005 Huge holiday factory consisting of acres of statics. Tourers area is small, cramped and poorly marked. Obviously something that they don't really want but have to tolerate for historical reasons (probably as a result of a planning application requirement that they retained some pitches for tourers.)

October 2001 We stayed at Lochloy for a week. and could have done with it being a month. The site was kept very tidy and the staff were extremely helpful. We met some new caravanners on the site who it turned ou only live about 3miles from us. When we were talking to them it also transpired that I was a good friend of their mothers who attends the same disability Centre as myself. Nairn is a beautiful place and I would recommend a visti to the area there is so much to do and see. My favourite was a shop which specialises in Model Vehicles. We are going to return to nairn but will definately remember to book in advance as ther are not many tourer pitches.

May 2002 Just back from another weekend in Nairn. This time stayed at Lochloy campsite which is owned by Parkdean holidays, cost only £9.50 per night including electric.
Lovely site, right on beach, within walking distance of town centre. Good facilities, but only about 30 pitches for tourers/tents, mainly static caravans.
Have previously stayed at the CCC site at Delnies, this we enjoyed too, but Lochloy's location takes some beating!
Would definitely go back to either of them!
