We arrived here for the 2nd week of the Whit holidays - what a difference a week can make! Out went the heatwave to be replaced my rain, rain and more rain!
On arrival we were shown to our Pitch 99, a large flattish pitch sort of central between the reception and showerblock. Once the Cabanon was pitched the children were thrilled with their new walled garden and had plenty of space to play. The site itself is really really good - the showerblocks were spotless and had a nice area with mirrors and sockets with seats for ladies who like to do their hair in comfort.
There is a small play area next to the stunning outdoor pool -which looked just like something you would expect to find abroad - sadly we had such bad weather all week we couldn't use it at all, in fact nobody did but it did look so inviting. The site doesn't have a shop but if you are there in school holidays they do apparently have a van which calls and you can purchase basic supplies and a bus into St Ives is also laid on. The site has a well equipped laundry and freezers for freezing ice blocks.
We managed to get to the fabulous Carbis Bay just once - for me this is one of the nicest family beaches this country has to offer, nice soft sand and sheltered, with lifeguards to boot. The beach has a little shop selling normal beach stuff and the most delicious Cornish pasties which must be sampled! You could walk to the beach but it would be a very steep upward return journey - we paid the £5 for the beach car park.
There is a soft play centre next to the site and they have an access gate from the site directly to it - we used this once as the weather did make outdoor things a bit difficult. Within walking distance is a fab restaurant La Casita and a newsagents, and a large play park. Tesco is about 5mins in the car.
I would highly recommend the park and ride train station nearby for a trip to St Ives as the line is coastal and the views stunning.
Flambards isn't too far away and is great mainly for kids under 12 I'd suggest.
All in all this is a great site even though the weather was duff! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to tenters or caravanners alike.

The web site is frankly a nightmare to book on and I had to phone to make the booking in the end. The first time I called I was told I should try again to book on line as though I did not know what I was doing.
On arrival the receptionist could not have been more helpful, really accommodating, she left at 1pm every day and it went downhill then.
We booked 5 pitches for 2 nights for a family get together. The site is beautifully kept, especially the toilet/showers.Our pitches were great, quite sheltered and had plenty of room.
The laundry room was great and the Wi-Fi worked immediately.
On the negative side.
Whilst there are a good few shops in Carbis Bay it is a long walk there and uphill on the way back.
I feel the wardens could do with going on a customer care course here though - no doubt efficient but hardly friendly.
Every one of our party had to go into the reception and be shown the brochure even though I had booked and paid weeks prior and sent them all one out. It is very process driven.
The Shower/Toilet block is not supposed to be used between 1-4pm. We were not even allowed to wash our hands.
The hand dryer has only cold air.
Reception is closed between 1-4pm every day.
A member of our party was disabled and had to use a torch to go to the disabled toilets as there was a problem with the light.
The man on the mowing machine drove around a few times on the morning of our departure, checking on our progress, I will not be going back.
Whilst it is lovely to have a good site, I like relaxing on holiday - sadly this place was too regimented and unfriendly

Our first time camping and so slightly apprehensive about what to expect however was pleasantly surprised.
We chose a pitch using their website and was allocated it on arrival. The pitch we chose and 7ft hedges on 3 sides making it very private. We went in the school holidays and although the campsite was full, you never really noticed and never queued for showers or toilets.
The toilets and showers were spotless, and cleaned at least twice a day.
The site is also very secure with regular patrols at night.
No criticism of the site whatsoever. Very helpful staff and a very enjoyable holiday.

This was a very clean, well run site. The pitches were a good size and not on top of each other. Our pitch was level (lamorna) although others have a slight incline. The facilities where good. Pool clean although could have been warmer. Kids play park was good, but some distance from our pitch.
It's a shame that the site wide wireless internet access was very flaky. Despite strong signal, being able to attach to the network was random. One evening reliable and performing well, other days impossible to connect. This was the only real bad point against what is a very good site. For people that don't need to be connected to the world, then this would make a top choice of site.
Location wise its excellent. Carbis Bay beach is a 5mins drive or a 30min walk (but very steep hill on the return). We managed to park at the beach each day, with small kids this was essential. There was space until 11ish most days although the price changed from day to day depending on the weather!
Also the south coast is only 20-40mins away, depending where you go and so if the wind or weather looks wrong on one side. Then drive across to the other! All in all. Great site, great location. Just make your network reliable.

Just got back from 5 nights at Little Trevarrack! We had a lovely time, location was perfect, site was pristine, and weather made it extra special.
We were pitched on no. 126, which was a nice shrubbed edged space, getting the best of day and evening sun. The pool was lovely, once you were in (!) and to have showers just next to them was great for a rinse off.
Showers/Toilets/Games room were all great.
On first impressions I thought the lady who checked us in, was very forceful with the site rules and I went away with my brochure guide thinking.Errr okay.?! However, I didn't need to enquire further with staff in reception anyway.
My only downside during our stay was the noise of the tractor / rubbish collector guy, who was cutting grass/emptying bins around the site at 8.30/9am and on one occasion left his engine running whilst talking to our neighbours, which I found very annoying as we like to sleep in occasionally on our days off and on the morning of our departure, he stopped by at 9.15am with a checklist of all pitches leaving that day, obviously making sure we are gone by 10am which I know is the time of departure rule, but hey, you can obviously see signs that we are packing up!
Apart from that it was perfect and would recommend this site!

We (myself, my partner, and 3yr old and 1yr old boys) are new to camping and this was our first family camping holiday. I'm not really the outdoors type so was very apprehensive about camping, so we made the decision to visit Little Travarrack as it had been highly recommended to us by family members.
We had an amazing holiday and I feel this site has set an extremely high standard for other sites to follow!
The site is clearly signposted from the main road through Carbis Bay. The entrance to the site is protected by barriers and there is a camera which recognises your car registration and opens the barrier for you, very secure and reassuring and doesn't let vehicles enter after 11.30pm (you can park in the car park and walk to your pitch after this time).
Most of the facilities are located around the main entrance to the site.
*Main reception - with lots of local information leaflets and internet access
*Games room with pool tables and football tables
*Laundry with Handwashing facilities, Spin dryer (50p), 3 Tumble Dryers (50p), 3 washing machines (£3) and 2 ironing boards and irons (free). The wasing machines are huge and a wash takes half an hour (tumble dryers 10 mins) They are lovely and clean.
*Toilets - mens, womans, disabled shower
*Baby Bathroom - a room with two large deep sinks to bath babies in, they were big enough for my 3yr old!
There is also a carpark for guests, a mobile shop van which stops every morning between 8.15am and 8.45am and a 'sizzle' van which does food on a Thurday night and Breakfasts on a Sunday morning.
As you go further into the site there is a shed with 3 large freezers to keep iceblocks in.
Then in the centre of the side are the main shower and toilet block. The showers are very clean and modern. Also in this block are 6 sinks to wash up in and drainage points to empty toilet tanks and waste water.
The pitches are then situated in 'meadows; all around the site. We stayed in 'Cadgwith' which was a multi-serviced meadow where each pitch was surrounded by its own hedges. This made it lovely and private, although our side of the meadow was empty all week so it was very private anyway!
It is a very peaceful site everyone is spread out with plenty of room and there is an 'all quiet' rule from 11.30pm to 7.30am which I liked.
There is also a children play area, a swimming pool and a dog exercise area, none of which we used so couldn't really comment on, but all looked nice and well looked after.
The staff are very friendly and there is always someone mowing the grass, or watering the plants or generally tidying up.
The only criticism I have is the internet booking system! I checked several time and it stated they were fully booked for our week and nearly looked elsewhere, luckily my partner phoned them and booked a pitch and as I said when we were there it was pretty much empty, so definitely book by phone! There is a google earth map on their website where you can pick a pitch which I think is a great idea.
Highly recommend staying here!

Excellent site although I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed it if it had been full as the facilities didn't seem big enough for the enormous site.
Pitches are great, good size with rather nice little hedges in between. We had a caravan pitch, lovely. The ten field also looked amazing (not too hilly!).
Excellent facilities, cleaned every day and spotless. Showers were at one temperature, I like to adjust mine, but loads of water etc. Playground on site was lovely, more interesting than your average one (all wood, very nice!). Also a field for kids to play football and a dog walking area.
Washing machines good, £3 pounds a wash. Didn't use the drier as weather was good enough for that. There are kids 'baths' whcih are really rather large sinks. These are at reception so could be a long walk from certain parts of the site. Pitches 115 etc are at top of site with excellent views of the sea.
As previously mentioned lots of grass cutting which can be annoying, but that's what you get if staying on a well looked after site! bus to st ives, but didn't use this.
Excellent info in the office, do tap into their knowledge, they told us about things going on. Local beach at carbis is great as are the beaches in st ives. Train from carbis to st ives should be done, £4 adult return.
All in all a great holiday at a lovely site. Think we'll be going back.

I go all the time to this campsite because its just amazing! It's absolutely spotless! the games room is fun, the parks good and the pool and grounds at the pool are amazing! Loved it!
Don't listen to the people saying 'it's a long walk to this. Its a long walk to that' cos there is a super bus that is drop dead cheap, but clean, that picks you up from just outside reception (the car park) and takes you right to st.Ives.

Just got back from a 5 night stay at little trevarrack, the site is modern, fairly large and kept in first class condition, always clean and tidy. The facilities are kept up to a first class standard, the swimming pool looked like a lot of the site. Brand new.
There was a free bus down to st ives the weekend we were there, normally 50p each (bargain as the parking is limited and expensive in the village)
There is a tesco just down the road and a mobile shop (van) calls at the site every morning between 8.15 and 8.45 selling papers, milk, bread etc.
The site is mainly flat some pitches have a gentle slope, all are kept in a1 condition.
Would we return. By crumbs, yes, this one great site and a credit to the owners.

I love this site! Whilst it is a family campsite you do not feel overun by noise and children because it is well set out. We have camped in lots of places around Cornwall and this is one of the best for camping in St Ives. We walked to the beach every day and my kids who are 4 and 6 had a great time at the beach as there was never too big a waves for them to cope with. The site owners are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area as well. Make sure you take the train into St Ives, most scenic trip I think I have ever done on a train before. We will definitely be returning this year. Happy camping!
