We returned to this wonderful campsite for a second visit.
Not disappointed at all. Able to set up early and gretted in the same friendly manner as our previous visit.
The addition of the mobile shop each morning for half an hour was excellent.
Facilities are spotless, could not be faulted, even in all the wet weather! Swimming pool also spotless, and very secure.
The only difference we noticed this year, was that the daily early morning grass cutting had stopped, which was a very pleasant welcome.
Very secure site with keycoded barrier. Shuttle bus to St Ives is great, but this does only run in the high season period.
Would recommend to all my families and friends, and will be back again.

This site is well located for Carbis Bay beach. The site is clean and very well run and managed, with pleasant planting and landscaping. Pitches are spacious and some have views of the bay. The showers & toilets are regularly mopped out during the day & closed for cleaning from 1 - 4 p.M. We would have preferred some individual wash rooms as a bit of privacy would be preferred when washing etc instead of having to use the handbasins in front of everyone else.
We used the swimming pool most days and although not the warmest pool on the planet, it was spotlessly clean & cared for and you soon got used to the temperature. Jumping in and diving in are not permitted for safety reasons due to the depth of the pool but my children were more than happy to swim and enjoy this brilliant facility.
I heard some folks moan that they didn't like the 'rules & regulations' at this site however we liked the way this site is run. We tend to find that these folks are the type who need rules & regs as they are new to camping. If you don't either then this site is not for you. We loved it and plan to return.

We found booking this site very easy with the web site actually showing each pitch from the air.
When we arrived the staff were very helpful giving us lots of information about local amenities.
Found the pitch to be larger than we thought,we could get our trailer tent with large awning and a 3m gazebo to fit, with space for our car as well.We chose a non hedged electric hook up pitch as these were larger.
On site amenities were excellent
Spotlessly clean toilets.
Free large shower cubicles.
A lovely outdoor pool.
Good kiddies play area with separate field for football etc.
Free freezer for ice blocks.
Games room with 2 pool tables and a table football machine.
A van arrives every morning with papers, milk, bread, and other basics.
A bus is provided to St Ives for a small charge.
The local shop (costcutter) is a good 15 minute walk away.
The beach at Caribis bay was great for kids with RNLI life gaurds and a few shops. You can walk there in about 20 minutes. We parked the car at the hotel above the beach for £5 for the day.
There are some local restaurants and pubs but we did not us these.
Days out to try are:-
Paradise Park-Hayle
Marazion-St Michaels Mount
Poldark-Tin Mine
Geevore-Tin Mine
Sennon Cove beach
We found only one negative,
Change over days are Fridays and Saturdays, don't expect a lie in,as soon as pitches come free someone comes round and cuts the grass on a noisy mower, we had them cutting outside our tent at 8.30am!
So overall, if you want a spotless, well run, quiet site with big pitches, and friendly staff this is the one for you.
We will be going back.

My husband and I took our four children to this site as our first family camping holiday- we were joined at various points in the fortnight by family who booked separate pitches and spent a few days with us.
The weather was really patchy but despite this, the site was spotlessly clean. None of our party had cause to complain about the loos, showers or pitch and this was in pretty rough conditions so this was a major plus point.
The site is situated in good reach of some of Cornwalls main attractions such as Paradise Park (excellent day out), National Maritime Museum (lovely though crowded) and security was of no concern due to a gate with a specific code per car and very active staff in terms of site patrolling. There is a bus into St Ives every day which is great as its hard to park in the town. The outdoor pool was lovely although quite cool and there is a little play area for under 12's that my 4 loved.
The pitches are spaced far enough apart that you feel as though you have privacy and for basic store cupboard items you can visit the mobile shop that comes on site for half an hour in a morning, which balances out the fact that the site is pretty far away from supermarkets etc. It is worth mentioning that the site is very windy as it is high up.
We did find a few down sides even with the fact that the site is overall quite lovely. In the staffs haste to ensure that rules are met, they can be quite overzealous in enforcing them which can mar your enjoyment- whether this is more or less irritating than sites that play lip service only to their rules and therefore you find yourself enforcing them is personal I think. We found silly things to be a bit OTT. I used a washing basket that is provided to move laundry from the washing machine to the car (parked directly outside) and was flagged down and told I could not take the baskets outside the launderette. My 10 year old daughter was asked to leave the play area unless she gave her date of birth (to ensure she was under 12)to the staff member asking- I was then summoned to bear witness. After an evening out where my mother in law sat with our children, we arrived back to the tent at 11:30pm, walked quietly back (you cannot move your car around after 11:30 and the gates are locked) and wished her goodnight- we uttered literally 1 word when a security guard came to our door and stated that 'the site operate a total silence policy after 11:30 and if we needed talk we must whisper'. My real peeve was my brother in law, a guest on the site for 1 week, tailgated our car out of the site in error. He came back to find his code was deactivated for security reasons. I am 100% behind security policies and that measure is apparently in place to make sure strangers/visitors are not on the site after time (which is great) however, in this case they could see that his licence plate was registered (they had to to turn off his code) they knew he was a legitimate guest, it was pouring with rain and they made him get of his car to ask for it to be opened purely so that they could tell him off judging from the lecture that ensued. This seemed a bit much to me!
Overall we loved Cornwall and were very grateful that the site didn't suffer despite the dodgy weather.

Wow wow wow. This site just amazed me,so clean and tidy. The shower block was thy best I have ever seen had to que on a couple of occasions but this was the busiest two weeks of the year. There wasn't a blade of grass out of place. The swimming pool again very clean and tidy and can I say just the right temp too.
The staff in reception very helpful nothing too much trouble, our heat sheld fell of the car from under the car and they gave us the postcode for the nearest kwik fit got it fixed straight away. The bus into st ives is well worth getting,so much better than parking the car.
The kids loved the play area and playing field, there is a mobile shop that comes onto the site for half an hour in the morning stocking all usual essentials.
The only little niggle I had and it definitely is not a complaint was the time we had to be off the pitch 10:00am this didn't give us much time to dry the tent of condensation before we packed up,11:00 would be much better but I suppose they need to make sure everything is just right for the next luck camper. We was on pitch 47 just behind the main shower block next time we go we will definitely pick the same pitch FANTASTIC.

Just got back from a 2 week stay here.
Excellent site.
We where at the top of Cadgwith area which has distant sea views from some pitches.Word of advice take decent blocks for under corner steadies.
It can get very windy.
Nice walk down to Carbis Bay beach, limited expensive parking at the beach,we used the local church car park £2 all day (honesty box), if you can cope with the hill walking back up (we didn't find it that bad.)A couple of nights, walked along coast path into St Ives and caught the bus back.
I would recommend using the bus (peak season) which takes you from the site & drops you straight into the centre of St Ives.
The shower/toilet block is modern, well maintained and clean.
The swimming pool area is also excellent if a little cold some days.
There was a mobile shop that came daily 8.15-8.45,not sure what it sold due to never being up in time to use it! Costcutter about 15 min walk away or Tesco 10 min drive.
I would recommend this site and will certainly be returning.
Only minor issues I had with this site where:-
Top row on Cadgwith could do with its own water tap/waste disposal point.
Strict rules about noise levels from campers late on (which is good) but on the other hand does the grass really need to be cut before 9am during the week.Which happened a couple of times next to or around our pitch.

We have just returned from a 2 week camping holiday at this site.
The site is a couple of hundred yards up a side road that leads off the main road into St Ives, in an area called Carbis Bay, look out for signs for PLAYZONE and Little Trevarrack.
Upon arrival we were issued with all of the site information that we would need and also a small brochure with information about the local area, doctors and medical, shops and supermarkets, beaches and places of interest and a street map of St Ives.
The site is very secure, with a coded barrier entry system both to the main gate and the swimming pool area, and security patrols at night, making you feel safe and also making sure everyone was adhering to the quiet time between 11.30 and 06.30.
The serviced pitches are of a good size which would accomodate most sizes of tents, with hedge boundries to 3 sides.
We were very impressed by the standards throughout the site. The grass is kept short, the hedges neatly trimmed, rubbish collection is daily and all litter is removed, which all helps to keep up the standards.
The shower/toilet block is very modern, well maintained and very clean. It is cleaned 3 times a day, with a deep clean between 1 and 4pm
The swimming pool area is also to a very high standard, even though the pool is quite cold it is kept very clean.
A separate area is provided for playing ball games, a dog walking area is provided for guests who have brought their dog and a childs play area with swings and climbing frames for children.
There is no bar on site which can only be a good thing, and no shop but a small mobile shop comes round for half an hour each morning. There are shops bars and good restraunts within a 10 minute walk of the site.
The beach at Carbis bay is about a 20 min walk from the site, down a steep hill but the walk is worth the pain as the beach is beautiful.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful and will help you as much as possible to make your stay as nice as they can.
We will certainly be re visiting this site the next time we stay in Cornwall, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a site in this area!

Stayed here during the the school holidays, what a fantastic site. The site itself is spotless with large plots surrounded by hedges and immaculate grass and bedding areas.
The pool and shower blocks were the best we have seen on a campsite by a long way. There is a mobile shop that comes to the site every morning at 8.45 for 30 mins each day. The bus service from the site into St Ives is superb and cheaper than parking fees or taxi.
Infact my only 2 bad points of our stay was:-
1)The local Italian restaurant,La Casita' is an absolute rip off, with high prices and very small portions.
2) The 'play zone' next to the site is another rip off place. I don't mind paying for the kids to enter as they are using the play equipment but charging the adults to enter just for the privilege of spending money at the bar is a joke. It's like being charged to sit in a pub! My advice stay clear.
Apart from those the site and the area is outstanding and we will definitely be returning to this site.

We stayed at this campsite over the half term holiday.
On arrival we were given all the information we needed by very helpful and friendly staff.
The site is spotlessly clean and very well presented, I love the hedges between pitches.
They have a little shop come in the mornings for half an hour which was very handy.
The pool wasn't very warm but was still fun and again spotlessly clean.
You can walk to Carbis bay in about 15 minutes but it's a bit of a slog back up the hill.
There was some campers playing music til late but that was only one night, we always say a campsite is only as good as the campers!
We have booked to go back in the summer holidays.

Upon arrival we were issued with all of the site information that we would need and also a small brochure with information about the local area, doctors and medical, shops and supermarkets, beaches and places of interest and a street map of St Ives.
Incidentally the site provides a regular courtesy bus into St Ives which is very handy as the site is about 3 miles from the harbour / town centre and parking is expensive with spaces often rarer that gold dust.
We were very impressed by the standards that the site is kept to.
The grass is kept short, the hedges neatly trimmed, rubbish collection is daily and all litter is removed, which all helps to keep up the standards.
The shower/toilet block is very modern, well maintained and clean.
The swimming pool area is also to a very high standard.
A separate area is provided for playing ball games , a dog walking area is provided for guests who have brought their dog and a childs play area with swings and climbing frames etc is provided for children.
The site owners provide their own phone number to guests to be used in an emergency.
There is a kids play area close by,(not owned by the site), that has various activities and a licensed bar, the site provides a private access gate to this right next to the reception building which families may find handy.
We can honestly say that we found no negative point and will certainly be visiting again next year.
Excellent, very impressed.
