We had the pleasure of staying at this very beautiful site, our tent was pitched in one of the three tent fields. Our field was fantastic, overlooking the black mountains, was bank holiday weekend but not even close to being over-packed as the owners take care to keep the fields as comfortable as possible. The toilets were right next to the field, and were regularly cleaned, and there was a fresh water supply in the field as well. The owners were very friendly, and were always on hand walking around keeping the campers happy, directing them to their pitches, and answering any questions. One morning we had a visit to our tent from a very friendly member of staff asking us if we would like some freshly picked mushrooms for our breaky, at no charge.(it s that personal touch that makes you smile) there is alot of hiking in the area as well as alot of little villages with small cosy pubs and shops nearby. This was a fantastic 4 days and will be returning again.

Lovely campsite in a lovely location with great views of the Black Mountain, we stayed a week in one of the sites statics. The campsite owners are friendly as are all the local people who regularly gather in the pub that adjoins the site. This is a remote site with plenty of walks either from the site or just a short distance away. I would highly recommend this site and will definitely be staying there again.

My wife and I have just had a most pleasant time in the Black Mountain Caravan and Camping Park. We wanted a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of our normal life and the site was just what we were looking for. We had glorious views of the Black Mountain and were accomodated in a very clean and spacious caravan at a very reasonable price.
The site gives what it advertises, peace, quiet, tranquility and glorious views. The owners, David and Sharon, were most helpful and assisted us in all our needs during our stay. If you are looking for a good base for walking, a place to watch Red Kite, or a location in the countryside I could not recommend anything better! Weell worth the journey and well worth visiting!

This is a nice quiet site. To get to it you need to go down some quite narrow lanes so take it easy and be prepared to pull over. The site itself seems to be in 2 parts. One is the main site and there seems to be a overflow field (near the pub across a small lane)
We stayed there over the May bank holiday and we were on the main site, we had lots of space around the van. I did notice that that despite the main site (has statics in the middle) being quite quiet, new arrivals were in the over flow field, I wasnt quite sure why that happened.
The owner was a very nice and friendly chap, very helpful (lent me a long hook up lead) and offered to help me with the awning and pushing the van into its spot, was good at giving me local directions to the nearby Llandovery.
The site has some stunning views and next to the pub is a kite feeding station.
My only slight disappointment was the toilets. I was there gone 9am and no hot water in the sinks and no toilet roll(though the showers for 50p were excellent). The site was busy though so perhaps at quieter times this would not be a issue.

April 2004 We stayed here over Easter for 2 nights and had a very pleasant time. The site is clean and peaceful, the toilets etc are clean and well maintained, and the owners are very courteous and helpful (the owner lent me a long electrical hook-up lead because mine was too short). Showers cost 50p but you get a good long time for your money. The pub next door is very pleasant, serves good food and has a beer garden which is adjacent to the shower and toilet block (this necessitates having key-code locks on the doors due to the number of pub customers using the facilities in the past).
The highlight of the weekend was watching the Red Kites being fed (this happens at 15:00 every day) in the field across the road from our pitch, with 50 or 60 birds soaring overhead. You can book tickets to see this at first hand from a hide next to the feeding station - tickets cost £2.00 and you can book them at the pub.
I would recommend this site to anyone wanting a quiet time in the mountains and we shall certainly be going back.

October 2003 The first thing we encountered here was the site of what seemed to be hundreds of Red Kites soaring overhead, (probably only about 50\). The site itself is very neat and tidy with reasonable facilites. (The Ladie's is being refurbished but according to herself OK). We only stayed the one night but what a night, terrific veiws across the fields towards the mountains. The pictures on the web site are great, but unfortunately cannot do the reality justice. My advice is TRY IT. The Red Kites and the Buzzards were worth the trip alone. Make sure you get there early enough to get tickets for the feeding station. If like us you are just too late walk another fifty or so yards up the road and watch from there.

August bank holiday 2003 Beautiful, peaceful setting with tremendous mountain views. New owners are making great efforts to upgrade the facilities to cope with the site's increasing popularity. Over the bank holiday weekend the site was very busy and the present sanitary facilities were not really sufficient for the exceptional demand being placed on them. However, the atmosphere of the site is lovely and we definitely plan to return (although probably not at peak times until facilities are improved).

August Bank Holiday 2002 Excellent site, very clean and friendly. Quiet too, as its a bit off the beaten track, but not too hard to find. Plenty of room despite it being busy and bank holiday. The seperate vanity cubicles in the ladies were good, clean and well thought out giving you extra privacy. We had a super meal in the pub. As for the views!! Tremendous. We thoroughly recommend this site to anyone.

June 2002/April2003 I have been to a lot of Campsites in Wales, but this has to be one of the best, great views in a relaxed atmosphere. This is walking country, the campsite is clean and friendly. I will definitely return this year
