This is a Haven site, we have all been to them and some are better than others. We went because we got a few cheap nights. The touring is far from the facilities, which we don't use except for swimming and a bit too far to walk to.

The pub on the touring field was closed, the park by the pub had parts missing which made it almost useless. The pitches themselves were good. They were nice and flat, there is water and waste at both ends of the site but the water tap is missing from one end and looked like it had been missing a while.

There is a car park opposite the pitches where they have dumped 5 static vans and do make it look a bit dowdy, the toilets and showers were ok and clean most of the time, they are a little dated but not the worst I have seen.

We popped into the entertainment for 1 drink as our 4 year old wanted to see where the tiger footprints went and we were happy to see we were not missing anything by going in this puke smelling sell fest they call entertainment.

We didn't see any staff on the touring area during our 4 nights so cant comment.

All in all we paid £9. 50 a night and went swimming everyday so if I could book again at that price I would.

Stayed here in a haven van with 2 small dogs my partner and I. We stayed on a 5 day mon till fri, when we arrived at reception to pick up the keys the queue was horrendous but was dealt with in about 45mins, well that's what we thought!

We was given a map some keys and directions to the wrong caravan, back to the reception where there we was told the lady had marked on our map the wrong number 9 van, our number 9 was on the other side, so off we set again, found the right site but there was no number 9, so as we was on the end of the park, in our wisdom we did not trail back, we tried the empty vans with our key and it fitted number 12.

I did notice 'wet' under the van but it had been along day We needed to shower and toilet. Imagen our horror when after all that through the window you could see our entire shower water and toilet usage running down the path.

The day after we had to insist to move, which they allowed and give us a upgraded van, but first we had to pack everything back up, take key back to reception and obtain our other key, great, and I believe in not dwelling on it, but call me old fashioned a polite 'sorry' would of been nice, the park itself was good,

The mash and barrel pub was good and we did enjoy ourselves and would go back

Stayed here at Easter our 3rd visit to the park and again very enjoyable. Brian the warden is very helpful and friendly and tries to keep on top of his area. The touring part is by the main entrance and is a good walk to the entertainment areas which is a negative point and quite expensive on food and drink but this is expected being a holiday park. There is a train track running at the side which we don't find a problem it does have a built wall protecting you from this and if you were to climb this then more fool you. The warden as always said we can park anywhere on arrival and we have always stayed in the middle. I would like to say there is old static caravans dumped on what really is a car park and does spoil it. The chippy down the road on the next caravan park is cheap and well worth a visit, we will be back again at some point this year and will have another enjoyable trip.

We booked 3 nights and only paid £38 for 3 people, a dog and awning. It looked a fantastic offer. Now to the site. The touring pitches are at the site entrance, there are approx 30 pitches. The shower blocks are very dated and grotty, mould around the sinks, broken tiles and not very clean. The showers themselves were powerful and nice and warm. The Elson point was very filth and stunk.

We were on a grass pitch which had a stone wall behind, which was good and added some shelter. Unfortunately if I had climbed over the wall I would have been killed by one of the many Trains, this is a very busy train line. You will not find this mentioned on the website and it doesn't appear on the site map you are given.

The touring field is 1 mile, yes 1 mile from the main amenities, even though it is on the same site. This site is massive. It is to big for our liking.

The clubs are the usual Haven, there was a good group on the Saturday. We ate in the Mash and Barrel on site, the food was ok, but only ok.

We felt like tourers are second class and the only reason they allow them on is in the hope they can sell you a static. There is a static positioned in the touring field advertising caravan sales and a message that 'tourers never die they just become static'

Probably the worst Haven we have been on, not a patch on Caisters in Norfolk we went to at Easter.

We had booked for 4 nights but due to awful weather had to return home after 2 nights!

Upon arrival we were allocated pitches by the security guard on the gate. Our pitches were already taken by someone else and the warden was not working that day! We found ourselves alternative pitches as the security guard was very unhelpful and told us to 'do what we wanted'

Pitches quite small but adequate.

Ladies shower block ok but other half said mens smelled!

Nice play area for the kids but not much green space.

Would possibly revisit.

We went to this site as a freebie through the caravan club great day out book.

On arrival we where directed to a warden who was just on his way home at 4pm of a Friday I found rather strange.

We where then directed to a pitch next the railway line, although surprisingly the train noise was minimal.

Im glad we weren't in the middle of touring field as when it rains it floods badly.

The toilets were awful as they very rarely get cleaned and treated as public toilets by the rest of the camp and passers by.

The entertainment was good although as I expected everything is aimed at getting money of parents.

All in all good for a freebie but wouldn't pay to revisit. Tourers are treated like second class citizens.

Toilets and showers very clean and always available. 24 hr security. Someone in our dedicated space when we arrived and no warden working that day so told just to choose any spot available. Not very organised.
Flat site, enough space for van, awning and car. Pub very close by touring area, rest of Haven entertainment about 20 mins walk but I suppose this keeps the touring area quiet.
There is a railway line which runs behind the touring area. If you are a light sleeper beware, you won't sleep much, however the trains do pass in a jiffy !
Overall a decent site but as I won't be travelling to Wales again (lakes and northumberland much closer and of equal beauty if not better)then I won't be visiting this site again. This is not to say that I won't visit a Haven site nearer home (maybe Haggerston Castle, Primrose Valley or Blue Dolphin)

I have just come back from 5 days holiday at this resort. The weather had made the area flood near the toilet / shower block but this soon dried up. The toilet / shower block were spotless cleaned every few hours by Graham, the park warden, who couldn't do enough for you. Hot water all day long Plenty for kids to do day and night.
No late night shouting on touring pitches also 24hr security on gate. Will go again next season.

We stayed on this site in June. The first few days were nice and dry towards the end of the week the rain started. Thats when I found the hole in my awning.
But apart from that the site was nice and clean. Graham the warden kept the site nice and clean, even in the rain he was out picking up any litter that had been droped and asking everyone if everything was ok which he did every day. The entertainment was excellent and the childrens entertainer was one of the best we have seen at Haven. We are booking to go back again in 2008.
This site is well worth a stay as when we were there there was young and old campers.

Visited here for school half term week in October. Booked into touring pitch - which as previous reviews point out is actually three quarters of a mile from main complex. (a boring but easy walk) However there is a pub on the touring site - didn't visit it but it looked good. Kids loved site. Good pool - drinks not too bad for such a commercial site. Toilet blocks cleaned regularly and good supply of hot water.
Only drawback was that the field had real problems with water drainage and flooded after 1 day of heavy rain. Pot holes to match the Grand Canyon. Glad we had a 4x4 to pull caravan out of the mud-bath.
Probably would visit again though.
