We stayed in one of the wigwams on site and had a fabulous week. A stone bar-b-que was provided and we collected sticks from the woods. Excellent facilities, very clean and site is extremely peaceful. The only sound were the owls and sheep. Very friendly welcome.

Would definitely recommend this site to anyone certainly if you have a tent! It makes up for all the chav infested sites further south :( Its also very easy to get to but still feels in the middle of nowhere at the same time! The facilities are very good and very clean and also the staff gave us a very friendly welcome. The only downside to this site for a weekend is really there is nowhere to walk from the campsite but if you take your bikes along etc. it would make for a ace weekend there is a local mountain biking place in the forest quite nearby

Beautiful site, very friendly, very quiet except for the sheep and birds which all adds to the country charm. They were very flexible and we could choose where to pitch our tent. We didn't use the shower block but the toilet and kitchen area were very clean and tidy. I see what the others mean about the light timer in the tiolets however I appreciate the need to save the environment and money! You do need to travel a few miles to get to shops so take plenty of supplies with you. I was very impressed with this site and will definitely visit again.

Every now and then we come across a site which we don't want too many people to hear about - this is one. Just a few miles from the A75 but very quiet. Deep in the country, where you go to sleep to and get woken up by the sound of curlews, sheep, cattle. Facilities are good - very hot showers in separate block. Toilets excellent. Kitchen and dining room also available. The whole place has the feel of a French country site but without the smell! Good space between caravans, plenty hook-ups. Site well-grassed, but stony underneath so take steel pegs for the awning. Plenty room on the site to walk and cycle, quiet roads round about. Dumfries (and the nearest shops) only 6 miles away, but you would never know it. The site sells milk and the excellent Cream of Galloway ice cream. And eggs. No entertainment laid on for adults or children - nature supplies it all. Many of Dumfries & Galloway's attractions, including beaches, are well within reach. Excellent

Lovely site not far from the A75, but far enough to hear no traffic. Very friendly farmer and dog! Only annoying thing on this site was the toilet block lights, they are on a timer! You can find yourself in the dark if you spend more than five minutes in there at night. Great walks through the woods surrounding the site. Lookout posts and feeding stations have been set up in the woods for the local wildlife. Good prices, friendly atmosphere and clean facilities make for an enjoyable stay here.
