Stayed here for a couple of nights in July. Once we eventually found it, really enjoyed it. It's in a great location right next to beach, though quite remote if you are looking for entertainment.
The owners were very welcoming and everyone else on site was very friendly. Imagine it could be quite exposed in more inclement weather, but we were very fortunate in that respect.
Facilities were basic but spotlessly clean with really good showers.
Would happily recommend this site for those looking for a quite get away.

This is a brilliant site if you like sandy beaches, wildlife and lovely walking countryside. Some of the farmers towards the end of the peninsular hide their public footpaths though!
The area is easy to get around by bike as it's fairly flat and there are a couple of good pubs to go to. A local hotel is walkable and is stunning.
For shops you have to go to the edge of Abersoch, 2.5 miles away so you would need a bike or other form of transport.
Pricey, but this is a great location and very well maintained site with clean showers and toilets. Looking forward to going back already.

Just had a long weekend at this site and we were very impressed. The weather was fantastic.
No probs accepting our Vango Diablo 600.
Facilities were basic but clean.
Great site for the dogs especially with a beach nearby. We camped overlooking the bay and had the fortune to watch dolphins playing whilst we ate breakfast.
It was windy the day we left so packing the tent up was a bit tricky but we managed OK.

The best spot in the world! If you want to chill out, forget about your worries and get away from commercial life, this is the spot. When I wake to that view in the morning it sets me up for the day. I've been there for 4 years and could not imagine a summer without it.

Exquisite location on the edge of headland at the very tip of the Lleyn peninsula. Lots of space, very friendly owners. Basic but clean facilities, though you will have to queue for shower at peak times. Word of warning about the weather - WINDY! This is a very exposed site, and there is usually a strong wind, coming from various directions. A low and sturdy tent is better than a high one, and take a gazebo at your own risk.

July and August 2003 Just to update on my first review: I went twice this summer and we met lots of people! So I take back my previous comments about it being difficult to meet others on the site.

August 2003 Have just returned from a great holiday on this campsite. The view from our pitch was amazing overlooking the beach which was unspoilt. Basic facilities but the fact that the site was in such a beautiful location more than made up for it. Our children were happy to be able to run around with other children in the evening and being able to get to the beach without getting in the carvwas fantastic. Very friendly owners too.

August 2002 I have been visiting Nant-y-big every year for 4 or 5 years. The location is superb on the top of cliffs leading down to a National Trust beach. Facilities are pretty terrible - and very basic with not enough showers or toilets but we much prefer a bit of a trek and a wait for the shower to the rules, regulations and lack of space on the other sites in the area. People have been camping at Nant-y -big since the 1930s and it's a fantastic site for those who want a gorgeous location and lots of space. It's also cheap and charges are per person so we take an extra tent for cooking and sitting in at night. I go with other friends with kids - not the place to go if you want to meet others.
