 A convenient site for visiting Giant’s Causeway, only a short drive from Bushmills where we parked up and walked along the old train line and beach to get there.
Stayed here for one night following recommendation from a camper on another site we stayed at, sadly didn’t live up to expectations. Yes, it is a pristine site and the facilities are immaculate, heated toilet blocks, soap and hand dryers.
However, the site is far too regimented for our liking. Upon arrival we had to ring to book in, where upon we were allocated a pitch number. Upon driving to this (despite the site being very quiet and empty) it was next to other caravans and the wrong direction to pitch our awning (which we were not allowed to put a ground sheet down in).
Another telephone call followed whereby we were offered a choice of 2 other pitches on the same area. We moved a few pitches along and pitched at a better angle, however some inconsiderate dog owner had not cleaned up properly so we had to do this. We still felt there was no privacy to relax both in the van and outside due to the proximity of the other vans.
The pitches are concrete with grass next to them all with taps. The drainage is an issue on these, upon exiting the van we stepped in a puddle of water on the concrete, the grass was also very waterlogged.
Yes, an immaculately kept site with well kept facilities, however in quiet periods I am certain guests would like to be able to pitch where they would like to rather than being jammed in like sardines to one little section.

This has easily become my favourite North Coast site after one visit.
It is a site which is extremely well looked after to the point of obsession. I'm not sure how old it is, but the tarmac, facilities and lawns are all perfect which immediately makes you feel good about having chosen it.
Not much needs to be said about the location as it's perfectly located for the North Coast and its attractions. It is worth mentioning it is an easy 10 minute walk into Bushmills along a footpath.
Every hard pitch is concrete with tap, electric hookup and drain. They are not massive but big enough for a normal caravan and one car parked beside it. They are strict about 1 car, but another can be left at reception's car park. There is also plenty of room for manoeuvring, which with my towing, is useful. There's a nice gap between pitches too. There seems to be limited space for tents and I didn't see any while I was there, but that's probably due to time of year.
The toilet block is really good too. Access is via a key code. Inside they are spotless with heated floors and piped music. Showers are free and hot with plenty of changing space. A mop is provided and campers are encouraged to use it once they have showered. I was particularly impressed with the family bathroom. It allows a family to all get ready together with separate showers, a bath and a toilet. There's also a good kitchen with washing machines, dryers etc.
They have a great little camping shop at reception with all the little spares you might need for your caravan/motorhome. Beside that is a games room for the kids with free pool tables, giant connect four and table football. Further into the site there is a nice little series of three lakes which you can walk around. There were swans and moorhens in it when I visited and some strange sheep statues on one of the islands. My daughter loved walking around it. Finally there is also a basic little play park for the kids too which is well away from the caravans.
Really great site with friendly owners/staff who appear to really care about the place which really shows. They make sure everyone sticks to the rules which is a good thing in my opinion. Other campsites should take a good look at this one as something to aspire too. A full site in late October tells me it's working for them very well and we've already booked in for next summer.

Fantastic, quiet, clean and safe site - will definitely visit here again.
We were coming from Antrim/Randalstown/Ballymena direction and the site was easy to find using the directions on their website, with all good roads on the way.
When you arrive you will see the small accessories shop and reception on your left, before the barrier (I believe this is closed at night after 11ish - although you should check website for details as we were always out for the count by this time so can't be sure - lightweights! There is sign with a phone number on it to contact should you need to raise the barrier in an emergency).
Staff were very helpful, friendly and informative. No check in problems whatsoever. Next to this is the play/recreation room which is a converted barn. I thought it nice they had a bike rack outside this for the kids to 'park up'. Playroom is basic but the kids loved it and was handy when the rain came on. Two pool tables, two table-tennis tables, equipment for same provided free except ping-pong balls (these can be bought in shop for 50p, I think), there's few games including a large floor connect 4 and chess. There is a TV but it either didn't work or we just couldn't get it to work (we didn't try too hard mind you) as we got an OK reception on our TV in the van. Gas available on site and this is kept at the back of the play barn.
This was our first trip out with the caravan and thankfully the site is thoughtfully laid out and pitches nicely spaced out and roomy so manoeuvring onto pitch relatively easy. The area we were allocated is on a slope but all pitches were flat which was a blessing for newbies like us! The pitches were concrete stands, with water tap and electrical hook-up. Large enough for caravan and car parked beside it. There is a parking area in front of reception so I imagine that's were any extra cars could park.
We were on site 27 which is on the one-way loop beside the playpark and close to the amenities building. This area was perfect for us with two children (8 and 5 years). The playpark is at the top of the slope, on a grassed area away from the road (although all roads on site were VERY quiet) and can be clearly seen from the caravans so even a worry-wort like me could relax and let them go to the park by themselves. As they're at an age were we have to take them everywhere they absolutely loved this freedom and independence and it made the weekend for them. We could still supervise them and keep an eye out from the caravan. With a cuppa! When it was time for them to come in we just had to give them a wave. I will always request this part of the park when staying here to suit the kids, but would recommend the other areas, particularly the area near the lovely pond for those not travelling with kids. I imagine it would be lovely walking the dog around the pond area of a morning. The kids aren't so good on the lead.
The playpark and large grassed area are great for the kids. The park itself is rather small but perfectly formed with two swings, slide (a good one with a climbing 'bit' - you know the type!), a small roundabout, a sit-on 'rocker', and a large rope climbing frame (think there is a pic of this on their website.
The amenities block is really nice (as far as amenities blocks go!). They have a mens, disabled and ladies shower/toilet block. They are very clean, well-maintained and even have piped easy-listening music to ensure ambient ablutions :-/ They had 3 or 4 showers (memory letting me down here) in the ladies with a little changing area. Anytime I went they were free and warm. I liked that they left a mop and bucket of disinfectant outside the showers so you could give it a scoot over after use - as a result the showers are spotless. No charge for showers. There were separate sink and toilet cubicles and an over sink mirror and a hairdrier (small charge I imagine - didn't use it). There is hand soap and a hand drier for quick visits which saved carrying our own over every time the kids needed the loo!
Big bonus is the family room next to shower/toilet block. Large room with bath, shower, sink, baby changing unit and loo (this was just behind short swing doors which wasn't too private but not a major problem.
Only very minor things I would change - and I mean VERY minor - are some of the doors/locks were a bit heavy/stiff making it difficult for the children to manage themselves but as one of us always accompanied them it wasn't a major issue. Toilet cubicles in ladies could do with a fem hygiene bin. Again, not a big deal.
There is a small laundry, kitchenette and waste water disposal area.
Bushmills itself is small with not a lot going on in it bar the Distillery, however, if you're in the car it's a great touring base for the Antrim coast and the lack of amenities in Bushmills will certainly not put us off returning. Probably many times. Really can't recommend this site enough for a quiet, relaxing break.

This site was one of the best equipped that I stayed in whilst touring around Northern Ireland. It is well laid out and maintained, with a central heated utility block with plenty of toilets, showers etc. , dish washing and laundry space and family room. There is a motorhome point for water emptying/filling and each pitch has hook up, water and drainage. There is also a small shop on site, but it is only about a 10 minute walk into Bushmills where there are a couple of small supermarkets, takeaways and pubs, etc. If you want to visit the distillery and not worry about having to drive back to the site, the location is ideal.

Booked 3 nights stayed 8 just because its the premier site not only in Ireland but of the British Isles. To enjoy the area enjoy the many coastal walks(directions at reception). If you are a cyclist there are many routes varying in length and difficulty.
Prior to this visit we spent 5 weeks touring central England and we enjoyed all of it 'just' because everywhere we stayed there was traffic noise AGH ! so if you stay at Ballyness (our retreat) you will feel refreshed and rested and a few pounds heavier if you decide to eat out at the many variety of restaurants. Fabulous site with very good owners who could teach some site wardens a lesson in hospitality.
Roll on next season so we can get back to this excellent site.

We only stayed here for 2 nights but would have liked to have stayed longer. This was our last site after having toured Southern Ireland for 5 weeks and I must say it was one of the nicest. The pitches were all fully serviced on concrete slabs. It is very close to the Bushmills distillery.
You can get a park and ride bus to the giant's causeway but they don't start until about 10. 30am. We drove up at 9 am and had the place almost to ourselves for a while. We walked down to the stones and up along the cliff top. The scenery was spectacular. By the time we got back to the car the place was very busy so it really paid to go early. You can go on a tour around the distillery but we didn't do it. However, we did buy a bottle of Bushmills. Would definitely recommend this site.

Absolutely packed first night we were here (some sort of French rally) now we understood why we struggled to book 3 nights and made do with2

Out & About:
Giants Causeway - Can walk to Bushmills and use heritage train to Causeway (July/August) or take Park & Ride (free for NT members). There is a shuttle bus to Causeway stones from car park (free for NT)
Carrick-A-Red rope bridge – free for NT; quite a walk from car park to site
Dunluce Castle
Lots of castles and lovely scenery on Causeway Coastal route
All of these can be reached by a rambler bus which calls at the campsite

We enjoyed our short stay on this beautifully run park. The facilities were immaculate and the large, free showers were the best ever. The pitches were well spaced and well kept.
aving booked ahead our pitch number was displayed on the outside of the office, a good idea which other sites would do well to adopt.
The staff were helpful and apologetic about not having greeted us, even though, at the time of our arrival, they were assisting a lady who had fallen and required an ambulance.
The Park and Ride scheme from Bushmills for visiting the Giant's Causeway is very good value.
Only one niggle, our directions described the site as being 500m South of the distillery on B66, which meant that a)we thought we had missed it as we drove out of Bushmills and b)it was a longer hike than anticipated to fetch supplies. Perhaps it's a misprint in the Ireland 2011 Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Guide.

We stayed 1 night over the August bank holiday weekend, we we're surprised we got a pitch. The pitch was on hard standing with your own power supply and water tap.
The staff were very friendly supplying visitors with information about local events, shops and bus timetable.
The shower/ toilet block was very clean with endless hot water and underfloor heating.
The site is as clean as the shower block, the site has a motorhome service point on site it also has a playground and football pitch.
The gates close at 11. 30pm and don't open to 7. 30am which from a security point is good.

We had read the previous reviews before choosing this site and emailed them to book a pitch as it looked as if they are usually quite full. On arrival the owner told us the pitch number that was allocated to us, as well as giving us plenty of information on the area, things to do and things to see. He could not have been more helpful.
We found all the facilities to be first-class, plenty of hot water, no queues for showers, free wi-fi and good laundry room.
Although at £22 per night it is not one of the cheapest sites, especially as they charge an extra £2 for an awning and are quite strict on groundsheets. However we did a deal to put up our utility tent, if we did not put a groundsheet in it we could have it for free.
It was a bit of a walk in to the town to get any shopping but once there we found Spar, Co-op, Mace and lots of eating places.
The site is in a very good location for the Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Dunluce Castle and Carrick rope bridge. All of these can be reached by a rambler bus which calls at the campsite. £5. 50 for an all-day ticket.
