You can't fault the amenities block or the cleanliness of this site. However even off season we were told all pitches were full, though actually we saw five vacant during our two-night stay. We were therefore charged £21 for a space in the car park infront of reception, along with 3 other campervans. This seemed far too expensive - we were all so bunched together on tarmac, not able to put out a table. The car park had hook up and a single water tap so I am guessing this is a regular occurrence. The kids loved the playground, but all under 10 had to be accompanied to play, to walk around and even to the toilets (which were on a keypad). There were even rules about not allowing mixed-gender siblings to shower together if over 5. The 2 sides of rules seemed a little extreme, no ball games, cycling. Etc. From what we saw from the car park the pitches were close together and not all were level. Rules also applied to awnings - no groundsheets, no awnings in off season. Far too many rules for us. It was very clean and well maintained, handy for town, has a bus service that comes to the car park itself (how pleasant when you are supposedly camping there) and lots of decent places to eat nearby, particularly if you like fish & chips. The Village Bistro was EXCELLENT value for money. Internet was expensive at £6 for 24 hours, washing machines £2 per load and tumble dryers £1 for an hour (the last being good value in Ireland). There are no big supermarkets locally but a good little Co-op 2 minutes drive away. All in all, we were disappointed having read the reviews and expected more for our money.

Owner's response: Thank you for your review of our caravan park. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness for our park and facilities. Our location close to the Giant's Causeway makes us a very popular park and hence we would tend to be fully booked every weekend and during school holidays and also sometimes during midweek in May, June and September. Because of this, a few years ago we installed an motorhome stopover area in our car park for visitors who arrive without a booking. While it is unmarked there is room for up to four motorhomes to space themselves out. When guests arrive without a booking they are offered the motorhome stopover area which has electric hookup, water and full use of all the facilities. It is made clear to all guests where they will be pitching and the price in advance of them deciding whether or not to stay.

During your stay in September we had a number of people arriving and leaving which made the pitches look vacant when the previous guest departed and before the next guest arrived. We also had several motorhomes who had prebooked a pitch and during the day they were away from their pitch.

The park information sheet given to you on arrival stated that ball games were permitted in the football field away from caravans and vehicles. Kids are not allowed to play football in the car park for the obvious reasons. We do allow cycling on the park. The park information sheet is, as you say, double sided, one side gives all the information on the park such as how to access the internet, when the gates close, key code for amenity building (these "rules" are no different from any other caravan park in the country) The reverse of the sheet gives you local information such as restaurants, taxis, cinema listings and a whats on in the area guide. Most visitors to the area find this information very useful and are very grateful for it.

We are sorry you did not appear to walk around the park to see the space between the caravans or the fact that awnings are permitted, just no groundsheets during July and August.

We have built the park up over several years and our policy at the very start was not to impose "rules" that are unreasonable and serve no purpose, while at the same time complying with all the obligatory regulation for the park. All the information on the park information sheet is for the safety and enjoyment of all our guests including yourself. We want all our guests to enjoy their holiday.

NSPCC has informed us that, while there is no direct regulations on this, it would be sensible to have a notice that children aged 5 and over should not be in showers of the opposite gender. Would you like to have a six year old girl in the gents showers and toilets? In response to this we built a family bathroom, where the whole family can use the one room. This is equipped with two free hot showers (one private) a bath, wash basin and toilet (also private).

We are disappointed having read your review that you did not take the time to speak to us directly, before, during or after your stay. We can assure you that all of your queries could have been sorted out at the time and that you would have enjoyed you stay more.

From September 2011 you will be able to book online and receive all the terms and conditions prior to booking. We look forward to welcoming you back sometime in the future.

What a brilliant site within easy walking distance of Bushmills with shops, the distillery and choice of places to eat. There where 2 fish and chip shops opposite each other and both appeared busy, we didn't sample but smelt good.

We did however eat at a bistro called Bushwakers and had 2 fantastic meals at very reasonable prices.Would highly recommend.

Couldn't fault the site and would definitely return if visit this area of Northern Ireland again.

Just returned from having stayed a week here, a great looking site, well maintained, shrubs, bushes and flowers, just little things that make a big difference.

The facilities are spotless, the shower/toilet block are clean with piped music and underfloor heating and never had to have a cold shower once, there's also a family room with a toilet, 2 showers and a bath, again spotless.

The pitches are a good size, I had no problem erecting my awning, the only drawback being that the area is on a slope, but with it raining all week the area inside my awning was still dry, great drainage.

The park for the kids is okay, with a grass area for ball games although there's no indoor area for them when it rains.

A great site in Bushmills, and I will be back again.

I think this is the best run site on the North Coast. Dogs are allowed provided they are on leash. Dogs are not allowed into the Childrens Play area which is fair enough. As a dog owner I am glad of any site which allows our canine friends but neither do I want to put up with random dogs fouling indiscriminately and jumping up at people.

The camping area is adjacent to the amenities and is almost completely flat. It is not divided up into plots so you can pitch anywhere, although people tend to pitch along the back and side boundaries.

The only negative of this camp site is that campers must move their tent after four days. To be honest, this alone creates so much work for the average camper that I would only plan to stay for that four days. However I do plan to return even with that restriction.

A superb site. Clean, well maintained, child friendly, well run.

The pitches are well spaced, the caravan pitches all had individual water points.

5 minutes walk into the village of Bushmills, 10 minutes from the Giant's Causeway, 15 minutes from Portrush, 30 minutes from the Glens of Antrim.

The only drawback that I can think of is that the hardstanding pitches are concrete - this makes pitching an awning a test of your initiative and imagination, still we managed OK!

I picked this site due to it's situation close to the Giants Causeway and the Bushmills Distillery (which we didn't have time to visit).

We were not disappointed, very friendly and helpful welcome, initially they were unable to give us 3 nights but went out of their way to find us a patch of grass (we have a tent which we back the vehicle into and use the vehicle for cooking etc.) for the 3 nights. I needed to find a doctor and they were very helpful finding me a telephone number, also we had some vehicle problems (typical old landrover) and they did some phoning around for us.

The site is in a lovely position, very well laid out and you don't feel crowded, the showers and toilets were very clean with plenty of hot water, you might have to queue in the summer months for the showers. The laundry area was of the same high standard. The town is only a short walk for shops, restaurants and pubs, we visited the Sportsman bar and we were made very welcome. Would recommend this campsite for all.

This was by far the best site we stayed in during our time in Ireland. The facilities are top class and for £20 a night it's a steal compared to some of the other sites in Ireland. Our one minor complaint was the price of camping on the car park. Yes we never booked so the Saturday night we had to use one of the 4 hookups on the car park but for a £2 discount this smacks a bit of money grabbing. I'd say £10-£12 for camping on a car park is more like it. But you pays your money.

We stayed here with our two children (2 & 3yrs old), it's an excellent site with baby washing facilities and second to none ablutions. There is also a room off the laundry area with free internet access and a selection of books for the use of.
The pitches are all super sites and concreted areas are level and good spacing between the caravans. This area has lots of restaurants and entertainment within a 6 mile radius, plus lots of natural / historical sites.
We have also camped here and they have power outlets for same and camp area is well drained and sheltered. We will be going back again.

Cannot fault this site for location and quality of facilities. It is undoubtedly one of the best in N. Ireland.

It is well run and kept very clean and tidy.

You need to book well in advance because it is so popular, especially at peak times.

The statics on site are well situated away from the touring area, so therefore not obtrusive.

It is a easy walk into Bushmills village, which has a good range of shops, cafes and pubs, which should cater for all needs.

We took the small train, that runs from the outskirts of the village, to the Giants Causeway, where there is easy car parking. It is not so easy to find car parking space at the Causeway during busy times.

We agree with all of the previous reviewers comments, apart from one.

We didn't find the staff as friendly either on the phone or when booking in at reception, as others have said. However we will continue to use it, as it is such a good site otherwise.

We stayed here for a week with 6 other 'units'. We had all trailered our 1950s micro cars and the site was very accommodating, pitching us altogether!

The campsite was very well kept, and as others have said the cleanliness next to none. The showers were wonderful, hot and plentiful! Very pleasant staff. They even provided free internet access should you have needed it.

If touring around the Co. Antrim Coast you could not be better placed.

We were fortunate to be there when the duckings and signets were on the beautiful ponds they have on site. I would have no hesitation at staying here again.
