We booked for the Easter weekend with friends of ours who had a camper van. Best Easter weekend we have spent anywhere, including home. Lovely location, couldn't have found a better place. We were next to the river. Very friendly place, owners extremely helpful and really nice. Shower / toilets kept clean, always toilet roll there, shower was lovely and hot even if only one per block.
Can't fault the site, we will return.
There is so much to see around and about and if you like walking, you'll enjoy all the places we drove by because we couldn't park because we were not early risers. Definitely going back to do the walks. What a lovely part of the world it is.
Shops and things are a long way away, Betsy- coed,(can't spell that) If you take all you need with you, you won't have to go looking for shops. All in all, I give this site (for us) 10 out of 10. Never done that before.

We visit this site quite regularly and always find the owners very friendly and helpful. The site has a great atmosphere, and there is a small bar on site which is warm and welcoming.
The toilet block is clean and the site is very well-kept.
We find it well situated also, with lots of country walks nearby, the lake llyn Brenig, forest-walks, with Betws-y-Coed just a 15minute drive away, and of course Snowdon.
We will definitely be visiting again in 2009

We had a fantastic time at this campsite. On arrival we had a perfect pitch right next to the river with a beautiful view. The weather was awful but that didn't matter as it was just lovely sitting in the campervan with a bottle of wine listening to the river.
The owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a few drinks in the on site bar and the atmosphere was brilliant. We had no cash on us so Martin let us set up a tab and even ran us up to the next town the next morning to get the money. What we really liked about this site was how laid back and friendly it was. We will book again soon.

Just returned from the Bank Holiday Weekend at this site.
On the plus side the owners were great, always on hand to help and very accommodating. The site was clean and well kept
It was nice to have a bar on site and the beer was grand. However.
We were hoping to get a hardstanding and room for the awning but due to it being busy we ended up on the grass with the tents and no space for the awning. It was a bit worrying as rain was forecast and we could have ended up getting stuck!. Personally I thought they crammed too many people onto the site and weve been to better sites for less money.
Facilities were clean but definitely not enough showers for the amount of people on site.
Ended up going out in van as there was no dog walks without going a long stretch on the road and no grocery facilities for 1. 5 miles - only really a problem if you run out of milk or bread.
We did try the breakfast at the cafe and a meal at the Sarecens Arms next door and both come highly recommended
Definitely a good site for families with children with the river and a nice play area.
I think perhaps we've been spoilt on other sites and maybe I'm being too picky!

Visited this site for the August Bank Holiday. This is a good campsite and the facilities are quite good. Quite a compact site with 29 statics. There are 9 touring caravan/motor-home pitches which were big enough for caravan and awning but nowhere to park your car. Cars where parked around the main house. The tent area is next to the play area.
The play area is OK and looks quite new. There is a games room attached to the house adjacent to the small bar/lounge with a couple of pool tables in it. Popular with the kids who are 9/10 and above. There is also a river that acts as the boundary to the site, not fast flowing but 3 feet deep in places and very popular with the kids and adults alike.
The toilet block was kept very clean although there was only one shower in the male and female toilets. My Mrs had to wait for 10 Min's or so on two occasions because someone else had got there just before her( not really a complaint just thought I'd mention it).
Nearest shop is about 1.5 miles away. There is a cafe about 1/3 of a mile away and I was assured their breakfasts were very good (i didn't use it myself).
The owners where very helpful and always around if you wanted any info on local area. All in all a good site would go again.
