This is a peaceful site with great views. I wouldn't suggest staying here if you have children - they would get bored. The toilets/washing facilities are basic but clean. There is no shop but the village of Cerne Abbas is about a mile or so away. The price of £10 was very reasonable I felt considering it was Easter Sunday. I would definitely stay here again as a one night stopover.

What a find, lovely peaceful site with fantastic views. The Wessex Ridgeway goes right through the centre of the site - perfect resting place for those walking the Ridgeway. There is no shop on site but everything is suplied in the village shop in Cerne Abbas. At least half a dozen pubs which all serving a great selection of food. This site is not suitable for children, but is ideal for those who want to be away from those noisy ball games etc!

I wouldn't really recommend this site for families with kids. There is nothing for them to do at all and when ours played with a Frisbee or football they got told off by the owner if they strayed near any of the caravans. The site is described as flat to gently sloping but we had trouble finding somewhere flat enough to set up tent. It is a small and basic site with few facilities but it is clean and tidy and very reasonably priced. It is mostly populated by caravans, including one where a local taxi driver lives, but as he works nights we were told to be quiet in the day! It is next to a main road into Dorchester which did get noisy at times but it is close to Cerne Abbas which has a small well stocked shop and a great Pub called the New Inn. Dorchester is lovely and Monkey World is very near.It takes about half an hour to get to Weymouth which is well worth a visit.

This is an attractive site with good views to the East, so don't be put off by the ferocious, chained guard dog outside reception! Facilities were, however, fairly basic - only one shower in the ladies (though in fact there was no queue when I went) and no functioning hairdryer or socket. There was no site shop.
Cerne Abbas (about 45 minutes hilly walk away, uphill on the way back to the site) is a lovely village and the Royal Oak pub is a real gem, with wonderful atmosphere and food.
