Our group camped here for the second year running as part of a long distance five day walking trail which included a day going up and over Cader Idris from Bird Rock. This is the closest site it seems to Cader. It's a shame about the long walk along the road to Dolgellau from the end of the trail but certainly a warm welcome and great hot showers await you when you arrive! The owners were very welcoming and flexible especially as we had a relatively large group of campers staying. The ground is flat and the site well kept and cared for. They also allowed us to recharge mobile phones in return for a donation to a local charity which was a very good idea. There's also a room where you can wash and dry clothes.

The site location is very good - easy short walk or cycle ride into Dolgellau which has a reasonable selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
Dolgellau itself is a good base from which to tour southern Snowdonia, ideal for walkers and cyclists. The Mawddach Trail runs from Dolgellau to Barmouth along what was once a railway track and offers great views of estuary and mountains.
We found the site to be disappointing. Washroom facilities are good and well kept, and owners helpful. However, pitches for touring caravans are divided into two areas and we were allocated a pitch that proved very unsatisfactory. Road noise was excessive, but an even worse problem was the size of the pitch - much too small for our average sized van leaving us cramped and protruding into the site roadway.
We shall return to Dolgellau, but will look for another site.

Arrived on spec requiring a tent pitch with hook up approach is lovely and a lot of effort put into the flowers a shame the grass was not trimmed in the same way we found it rather long for a tent, we were show around and given a choice of pitches. A little bit expensive compared with other similar sites nearby and you are charged for the size of the tent and not the number of people. Toilets, showers, washing up room and laundry all immaculate which is important when camping. CCT on the site and security barriers a camera in the washing up area though is a bit OTT, lovely views across the mountains and 1/2 a mile from the lovely small town with all its facilities (Restaurants, chip shop, pubs, supermarket, gift shops, Butchers, bakers etc) nice to see all the shops taken and not empty,
A good stay despite some very mixed weather please cut the grass for the tents.

This was our first holiday with our one year old little boy. The campsite is very easy to find, on the edge of Dolgellau. The owners were friendly and helpful and showed us where to pitch and where the facilities were.
The views from all the pitches are spectacular and we were able to have electrical hook up. The facilities are spotless with 3 showers for women and 2 for men. The campsite is beautifully maintained with lots of flowers.
It is an easy walk into Dolgellau (approx 10 minutes) which is useful for food shopping and there is plenty to do in the area.
Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and we plan to return.

Stayed here for a short weekend break but decided to stay another two nights as my wife and I enjoyed the welcome and helpfulness of the site owners, they helped us to site the van, they showed us around the site and the facilities, which were very clean and warm and included two showers each for both men and women, toilet facilities, a laundry room and a dish washing room. The site was well laid out with flower displays and painted agricultural implements. The site is in walking distance of the town of Dolgellau. Although the weather was atrocious during our stay and included hail wind and rain the facilities of the serviced pitches and the site made up for it. We will return

My friend and I booked this site as a base for a bank holiday motorcycle tour of mid Wales.
We booked the site over the phone and found the staff very helpful and accommodating and even emailed us just before our visit to advise that the camp fees had been taken from my credit card.
We did have to pay for the whole stay in advance, which was not a problem for us.
The site was easy to find and is very unusual in having a good view of the surrounding area from the camping pitches and also being only a 5 minute walk from the town.
Staff on site were very helpful, even lending us a lighter and some meths for our Trangia as we had not managed to get any on the way over.
Toilets and showers were clean, modern and functional. Only 2 showers but never seemed to be busy when we wanted them.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely consider coming back if in the area again.

We stayed 29 March to 1 April. The campsite was very straight forward to find (despite initially driving right past it - my fault!) and conveniently situated. We were mountain biking at Coed-Y-Brenin trails, this was a 15 minute drive away meaning we could get up for a leisurely breakfast and arrive there late morning, or even early afternoon and still get a good ride in. On this basis I'd definitely recommend your place for mountain bikers and will mention it to the club I ride with, should any of them be doing a Welsh road trip any time soon!
Also great having shops/pubs/restaurants a short walk away, meaning once getting back from biking the driving is done for the day!
The campsite was very nice, with easy access for the car and it felt secure so this was reassuring when going out in the evenings. It also boasted nice views in all directions. Facilities were good - plenty of space to do the washing up, good modern showers and everything seemed very clean and looked after.
Very friendly welcome on our arrival and we were made aware of where everything was. Extra gas was available to me when we run out so this was handy as meant we didn't have to go without a brew or sausage sarnie on our last morning. All in all an excellent stay and would definitely return

I have just booked this site again for August 2012 as it was one of the best we had visited for quality and location.
Quiet site with excellent toilet and shower facilities, all-service pitch even included TV ariel feed. Owners are really nice and very accomodating.
Really great spot as base for cycling walking and beaches with other attractions within easy driving distance that we didn't get around to last time.
The short walk into Dolgellau ensures you can leave the car behind to enjoy some pub food and a pint of Welsh ale in the evening. What more could you want?

On the internet this site looked good when we arrived we were a little taken back. As it said no booking for tents I assumed the tent area would have been large but this site is mainly for static caravans.
However we were told where we could pitch and found a nice little pitch on the terrace with an amazing view. Only downside was we had to carry everything quite a long way as we were not allowed to park by the tent!
Toilets and showers were quiet and adequate it said they were cleaned daily but we did not see any evidence of this.
Dolgellau is a lovely town with pubs a co-op pizza take away and fish and chip shop. All within walking distance of the site.
The cycle trail from the town was good flat and very peacful stopping at the pub along the way was also a bonus.
Took a day trip to Barmouth very pretty town also only 20 mins by car with a nice big sandy beach.
I thought the price was a little steep but given the closeness to town I guess that's why they get that.

Stayed here 2 weeks ago, we had a pitch at the top of the hill with fantastic views of the surrounding hills, probably the best view from our front window we have ever had. Plenty of good clean amenities although we tend not to use them as prefer to be self sufficient. Cost £22.00 which may be a little expensive but its the nearest site to the town itself and to the Mawdach trail which is why we were there. So very little on road cycling. The town itself was a bit disappointing as it was dead and drab but I suppose it will be buzzing once the tourists flock in. Would definitely visit the area again.
