We have stayed at this campsite twice now and have enjoyed it both times. The campsite is situated about 10 minutes walk from Dolgellau.
Dolgellau is a lovely little village with some nice, friendly pubs. The surrounding area is beautiful with there are some fantastic walks and bike tracks. The pitches are hardstanding with electric, clean and well equipped facilities.
The site is just off the main road to the village of Dolgellau, road noise did not bother us. We are looking forward to going to this site again in October as it is a great base to visit Wales.

The site is largely given over to statics with the top two hardstandings overlooking and overlooked by these. Lower hardstandings are separated from the busy road by a hedge so traffic noise could be a problem here.
One for experienced caravanners only as the site is quite steeply sloping with little room to manouvre and a narrow exit gate.
Having said this, the facilities were very clean and it is only short walk into Dolgellau so it will suit some. We would recommend a meal out at Y Meirionnydd and a visit to T H Roberts Coffee Shop.
We paid £25 per night for two people and a caravan in February.

We visited this site in early Sept, during a spell of glorious weather. The views of the Welsh hills were stunning, and the town itself was a lovely place. The site facilities were good, with free showers, and a washing area.
Upon booking in, I was informed that I was being charged an extra £2 per night on top of the nightly rate for bringing a car onto site. And that I couldn't park my car next to my tent as it damaged the grass.
When we tried to pitch our tent, most of the pegs would not go into the ground due to an excess of stones. In fact, another group in one large tent didn't peg their tent down at all.
I have to say, that on the whole I didn't take to the site. £15 per night for a 2 man tent plus £2 for taking a car onto site was way above what it should've been. And if it wasn't for the fact that it was handy for the Maddwach Trail, I would've gone elsewhere.

We stayed on bottom level where there were several hard standings for tourers, next levels for statics then top field for tourers / campers. Only about 5-10 minutes walk into the village where there are plenty of good cafes / pubs and restaurants plus a basic shop selling all necessities and a few gift shops. The Mawddach trail starts on the edge of town - 10 miles of traffic free totally level bike / walking trail right through to Barmouth.
The site itself is extremely well kept. Toilets and showers immaculate, plenty of hot water and no queues. Lower pitches are by road and some road noise during the day, but during the evening we didn’t notice. Top level looks best as great views but believe that to be mostly grass pitches.
We paid £22 for one night for a fully serviced pitch with electric and. A good site, very well kept and we will be back again.

First visit here, but not to Dolgellau. Nice site with good showers (2) and very clean toilets etc.
Used this as a base to visit Coed y Brenin. However it is still quite a way (10 miles) and is probably worth transporting your bikes to the visitor centre rather than adding a 20 mile round trip. Unless you are really fit.
Nice flat grass, vehicles not allowed on the grass which made carrying a bit more challenging.
May be worth taking industrial or gravel pegs as we struggled to pitch at first on the lower or middle patches of grass. Top one was OK but still bent a few pegs.
Only a short walk into the village, pub and bistro food available readily.
Overall a good site with welcoming and friendly owners

Facilities were excellent and owners were very obligeing. The pitches for tents were very good with even ground and beautiful view of the surrounding area.
Found this site and had to try it as it's only a 5 minute walk to the town centre with excellent pubs, etc. We were the only tent campers as it was the first week in May. Found the price a bit steep for May but we will be returning many times this year, as we are keen mountain bikers and it's a 10-15 minute drive up to Coed y Brenin.
Be returning for the last May bank holiday if we can get a pitch, because they don't take bookings and we have a 130 mile trip to find out. Excellent site!

Stayed three nights February Half term, the campsite is in an ideal location to visit Barmouth, it is in walking distance to Dolgellau and great place to explore the rest of Snowdonia and Gwynedd has to offer.
Heated toilet and shower block which was clean and well stocked and maintained. There seemed to be quite a few rules and if disobeyed you will be asked to leave, but I appreciate this is to maintain standards and make everyones visit enjoyable. The only negative thing really is that it is a bit pricey at £27 a night (2Adults/1child) which I expect to be pay in July and August but not in February.
Having said that we've booked again for Easter with a view to walking the Mawddach way!

My wife and I stayed at this site for 4 nights, excellent free showers, excellent washing facilities and laundrette.
This site has water hook-up so no running back and forth to fill water rolls.
Close to Dolgellau town 10 mins and even closer to small local Co-Op supermarket.
Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Six of us went and stayed for 3 days stayed in tent. We had a great time. Very helpful people (Sue and Elfred),navigated us well, helped us find our way round. Great service provided.Would definitely recommend this campsite. Cheap and nearby attractions.
Beach about 10miles away, alot to do,pubs, and food shops also near by along with supermarket, woods forests and hills near by. Mountain bike hire shops available. And a very well respected community not ignorant.
FACILITIES
Well provided showers all had hot water all the time(which were free),cleaned daily along with toilets, laundry facilities also available.
Overall we all had a great time and learned a lot from the environment, will be going back as this was quality.

Just got back from this site, whit bank holiday, excellent facilities. Didn't have to book, just turned up and asked. Toilet block was spotless, although only two showers, three toilets,in each. It's hilly, so might be a problem for some. The tent pitches are level (the hill has been levelled, so it's like a staircase) cars are not allowed on the grass, so you have got to carry your belongings to your pitch. The owner was very helpful, couldn't fault him. Not much for kids, it was mostly for mountain bikers (great routes all round). Very quiet at night. Fantastic views, when you walk out your tent. The local shops / pubs are 10 minute stroll, with spar / bike hire / camping equipment all available. Great walks and cycling routes (have I already said that?) Will recommend this site to anyone and will use time and time again.
