This is an excellent site with all amenities including restaurant and family's bar, including take away. Toilets and showers very well looked after and clean. Easy walking distance for the excellent beach, and a very good site if you in to Scuba. We was lucky when we stayed here as we had the hottest weather we have had in that area.
I stayed on this site camping 20 years ago when I was diving off St Abbs and it was a site with very limited facilities, but now it has to be one of the best I have stayed on. We paid £20.00 a night and I think its very good for what the site offers.

We spent 5 nights at Scoutscroft and can honestly say it is one of the best sites we have visited.
Our pitch spacious with hard standing for the caravan with grass for the awning and right next to the shower block which was a bonus.
A very well kept site and the toilets were cleaning EVERY morning we were there, they were immaculate and the showers were the biggest we have come across yet. There was even a small family room with a bath in it which our youngest child thought was fantastic.
There was no major entertainment acts in the club whilst we were there as it was just after the bank holiday but the club and bars were very well run and perfect for a night out with karaoke and bingo.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
If you like sites with a little of everything Scoutscroft is probably for you. What with the beach 10 minutes walk away and the fantastic scenery around the place, we will defiantly return here next year 9/10

This park is lovely ,toilets very clean. Beach is lovely and not far to walk. My kids loved it as you could bodyboard. The club was ok not very busy. The tv reception wasn't that good but you could borrow a lead to use the campsites area which they could mention when you get there so you dont spend your ten pound deposit . I would go back again very nice.

September 2004 This is a fantastic site, well worth a visit. Staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay an enjoyable event. The area is outstanding with great walk's. Facilities on site are good with both childrens and adult evening entertainment, and refreshments on site if you require them. Just give it a go like us, you will not be disapointed. We will be back.

June 2004 Recently purchased a second hand trailer tent and based on word of mouth from someone at work thought I'd try out Scoutscroft. I wasn't disappointed. Excellent facilities. Our pitch (59 and we'll ask for it again) was next to adventure playground, basketball hoops, my kids aged 12 and 7 thought it was fantastic! Small burn / river (for the english!) at the bottom of our tent - kids guddlin about in it, superb. Playground was never that busy, mostly our kids that used it!
Beach...10 minutes walk..but soooo worth it. Two completely different beaches within the same area. One sandy, subdued, easy waves, one hill later over on the other side, pools you can dive in, bigger waves for more fun. You'd almost think you were abroad.
There's three bars, basically the kids can be in all three, but scootie's (considered the adult bar) kids have to move (with parents) to the back of the bar but it's split level you don't feel like you're not in the bar you've just moved up a level but obviously further to the back, small sacrifice.
For camping though facilities are good, wash area for pots & pans, chemical disposal. Showers are fine but a bit tweaky, you get a token (30p) lasts approximately 6 minutes best be quick! and I found it challenging to get some heat! but I think I was unlucky husband said the male showers were brilliant and hot. I didn't have a cold / hot icon on the shower to indicate how to turn bad choice of shower.
BUT..please don't let my shower experience put you off, this is paradise (weather was fantastic too!) but we had our first official outing in our trailer tent and we've got such fantastic memories already. We'll definitely be back!

Aug 2003 This is definitely an all round site. Good for families or adults. It's mainly for static caravans but there is a new area the 'Mallard' for tourers.
The site is set about 300 yards walk from the beach, but it's hilly and feels like a good hike. You can drive down a narrow road and there is good parking just above the beach. To walk to the beach, there is a footpath set behind the hedge and off the road for most of the way. Good for kids and dogs.
The beach is set in a small bay where the tide goes out for a good way. From the beach you can walk 4 miles towards Eyemouth (well worth it) or the other direction about half a mile to Eyemouth. Both walks are clifftop and may not be suitable for kids.
The Mallard parking area has a few problems. Between my visit in 2002 to my visit in 2003, they have erected fences to partition off some pitches. This is good in a way as you have your territory staked out. However, some of the pitches are just too small. Make sure you ask for a big one. Some are also gravelled, a magnet for the kids to play in. Each pitch has variable services, you can ask for up to water, TV aerial, electric and grey water drains. Sewage disposal is not too far away. There was construction (sewage/ water works) during my visit in the field next door, but that can happen anywhere and it's not too much of an inconvenience.
I didn't test out the bar, fruit machines or laundry, but it's all there. In addition the campsite is a centre for diving. I understand that the facilities are very good. I did test the fish and chip shop, which is good.
A very nice site overall for families and people who like a lot of activity around them. Everyone is very friendly. No complaints except the small pitches.

JUNE 2003 We have just spent a few days at Scoutscrof and thought it was a good site the only complaint i have is that they advertise family entertainment but kids are not allowed in the part of the complex where the entertainment is after 9.00 at night. You would have thought by now these places would have realised families dont want to be shoved into a room with a pool table or an arcade, kids want a disco etc so come on Scoutscroft look after us families as well as the oldies.

Sept 2002 Spent a very pleasant few days at this site. We had a lovely pitch for our tent, very handy to the excellent toilets & shower facilities. There was a homely restaurant as well as a bar which had a pool table and table football - it was good to congregate there after a day exploring the lovely beach area round about, and the children enjoyed the buzz of the place and meeting other kids. Coldingham itself is a pleasant little place, quiet but with a couple of nice pubs. All in all, a lovely campsite in a very pretty part of the country!
