Toilet block a shambles, noise from the nearby road all the time night, or day,60p for a toilet roll, cold showers for 50p. Well that sums it up frankly!

We actually visited friends for the day(£2.00 to per person to get in) with a view to booking for the summer. We wont be going!

I can see that they are doing some upgrades but at the prices charged, I can easily find much much better sites. I only found the one old toilet block with poor showers, one tap next to the toilet block and the site being adjacent to the main road was subject to excessive noise.

Perhaps I sound cruel but, sadly, nothing inspired me about this site. My friends, two families, were very disappointed and will not be going back.

Re-reviewing the site as we have just made another return visit. The ratings I've added sum up what we feel about the site - can't quite put our fingers on it, but we love it. The overall rating ends up higher than any of the individual ones.

Since our last visit there have been some minor changes - the entrance has been moved slightly and the office changed to a static caravan, but this doesn't impact upon the site in any way.

We still love the surroundings and the walk to The Star pub. We particularly appreciated the soft but well drained ground and the almost manicured appearance of the grass. Evesham is a lovely town for a day out with riverside walks, boat trips, playgrounds, leisure centre, pubs, restaurants and a miniature railway just out of town.

The facilities remain simple but very clean and quite acceptable. (One exception is that a chemical loo disposal point would be appreciated. Lifting the manhole cover to the outlet from the men's lavatories is an adventure, but the novelty soon wears off!)

In a previous review we mentioned the deposit which is refunded if you leave by noon. I mentioned this to the owner on this trip and he explained that it is only there to guard against those who take advantage and stay excessively late, they will not retain a deposit if you simply struggle to get packed away and are half an hour late. And indeed on this trip we were held up by the rain and were 20 mins late and there was no hassle with the deposit, so no grumbles on that front either.

So this remains a favourite, lovely quiet site and we look forward to returning many times in the future.

We stayed here for a week during August and had a fantastic time. The site is well kept, with a small park which was ideal for my two young children, indoor dish-washing area and toilets were always clean and tidy. The location is beautiful. To open your curtains in the morning and see the view of Bredon Hills was truly a treat. If you have a tent, there is a lovely area around a small pond where you can camp. You can walk for as long as you like from the site through beautiful surroundings, so tranquil and peaceful. There is a road close by, but this should not put you off as noise was minimal and the location more than makes up for it. There is a BP petrol station within walking distance which was very handy. Owners of the site are very friendly, polite and helpful.

Away from the site too, did not disappoint as everywhere is breathtakinly beautiful.

We will definitely be coming back to this Site.

Arrived for the August bank holiday weekend so expected things to be a bit tight on space, however, we were pleased to find that we had been alocated four generous pitches for our tents. We were told to use those 'marked' pitches or any combination we wanted. Good flat site with hard ground (so take suitable pegs).

We were on the 'top-field' so closest to the A46 Canterbury Road. Traffic noise was an issue at that location especially at night, the traffic flow never eases. There is another tenting field that is further away from the A46 and this would be a better option if booking over the phone.

The pitches were great, the site was nice and not rammed full. The toilet block needs some attention, two showers and two sinks is not enough for a site this size. The showers were 50p or tokens for about 5 mins but our group found them very hit and miss, with the hot water going off after a minute or so.

Small gripe also re the cost.'we' had to pay extra for our 20 month old twins ! Why for goodness sake?

A large play area is on site for the kids, however, once again some of the kit is a bit tired now.

Supplies can be had from the Spar located at the 24 hour BP garage located 100 yards down the road. Also Evesham town itself is a nice place to spend an hour or so.

Food and drinks? can recommend The Star Inn just a short walk from the site or if you fancy a drive and a huge scoff The Teddington Hands located at the Island of the A46 and A435 (post code GL20 8NE)

So a nice site with a few moans but I would return as it's quite a pleasant venue.

I have to echo the other reviews, the noise from the very busy road kept us awake the first night. But we slept ok from then on. The toilets blocks were ok, not very clean just basic functions and there are only two showers. We were plagued with wasps the whole time and I have a feeling it was something to do with the large amount of rubbish waiting to be collected. The owner was very friendly and the pitch itself was fine. There is nothing nearby in the the village other then a pub, which was very nice. The only place to pick up any items was the garage across the very busy road.

A handy Cotswold location, friendly owners and a real effort with the landscaping made Long Carrant park an ok place to spend a week.

If you like to feel like you're escaping, then this wouldn't be the place for you as it is bang on the noisy A46 and also- looking in the direction of the well obscured road-is a lovely view of Dumbleton hill peppered with pylons. Turn around and look to the back of the site though and you have beautiful views of Bredon Hill and access to the Wychavon way, the pub and many other paths up the hill.

At the top end of the site there is a wooden playground and pitch area which our 3 children loved and spent a lot of time in. We could still see the children from our tent which was 2/3 of the way down the site. They also loved the wooded area at the bottom of the site which the owners have put a bark/chip path around presumably for dog walking. Again we could see them from the tent enough to let them go off.

We arrived the same weekend as a huge party comprising an 'urban dance group' had taken over the WHOLE tent field. They were drinking and chatting until around 0330 and even let off fireworks late in the evening on both nights-which they had apparently got permission for. We could not believe that they were letting off rockets around the tents and as secure as we felt on the site this did worry us greatly. The owners did say they would never be talked into having a group like this again though, but not sure if that was just for our benefit.

The shower block has NOT been re done and we were told that there were no plans to get it done. There were 3 loos for women and 3 for men and 2 showers for each which they charge 50p for-total rip off considering the site is mid range in price as it is. No sockets either, just an old fashioned 20p hairdryer which couldn't dry anything. No washing clothes facilities and no freezer access for ice packs.

We don't think we'll go back, but I wouldn't say don't go at all, I just think it's more of a short break base, rather than a relaxing holiday base.

We enjoyed a lovely two night stay this weekend. We found the site to be very dry even though it had rained a lot for a few days before. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There is a very nice view of countryside and hills from the site and it felt very picturesque. We have three young children and they were happy with the site and spent most of the time playing at the park that is very nice, my only complaint would be that I did not like the wooden log that is for children to walk over and it tips up as I felt it could cause an accident, I think this should be removed and something else put in its place.

There is not a shop but there is a garage opposite and it is open 24 hours so that is great, although I must say it does not sell alcohol! but a supermarket less than 10 mins drive away does. There is also a lovely wooded area at the bottom of the park that is perfect for a nice stroll. The site is in a great location as there are many local attraction including Evesham town, park and river and Stratford Upon Avon. It is a brilliant site and I would definitely return again.

What a great campsite! Friendly staff, secure, and not too expensive. The site was very clean and peaceful. We were treated to great views from our pitch, also highly recommend the Star Inn (short walk away) - great food & drinks. An interesting twist on the stay was watching the family in the caravan near our pitch mowing the grass underneath their caravan, a surreal experience! We'll be back to stay at Long Carrant Park soon, we loved it!

Visited here over Whitsun bank holiday.

8 Adults and 8 Kids, with 4 tents.

I was a bit dubious about this site having no shop, no clubhouse as we have always used sites with at least a shop. However, the price was good for a bank holiday weekend and its only 40 minutes from home.

The owner gave us a whole corner of the tent field to use. Knowing their would be 16 in our party. No restriction on tent sizes (1 Wynnster Cygnus 6 and 1 Royal Sassari 6 and two other family type tents.).

We didn't use electric hook ups so not sure if they were available in the tent field.

Residential static caravans on site whose owners tended to look down there noses at you. (they have their own fenced off area)

The good bits:

Great location in terms of countryside and access. Road noise wasn't a problem for us pitched in the tent field, which is further away from the road, maybe with 16 of us there was too much ambient noise!

A nice 15-20 minute walk (no main roads) to a country pub with a great beer garden and some pets for the kids to look at, good selection of real ales too.

Playground for the little kids to use.

Small wooded area on the side of the tent field that the elder lads (all air cadets!) used to practice their bush craft skills.

Site is level and appears well drained.

Dead easy to find, just off the A46.

Petrol station opposite with some provisions available.

The bad bits:

Hot water is at a premium, choose an appropriate time to wash up.

Showers, although adequate, cost 50p, no dry area for your clothes and no shower curtains to separate shower and dressing area, also not enough of them, 2 in ladies, 2 in gents. Toilet block did not appear to be cleaned throughout the day, lots of grass and such like on the floor. There is also only one block for the whole site. Queues appeared first thing in the morning for showers.

Washing up areas have only two sinks, which did lead to people waiting.

No shop, although not a great problem as the garage over the road stocks some goods, it does mean a 10-15 minute drive to the nearest supermarket.

Had to pay extra for a 15 year old lad, which I can never understand when you don't become an adult until your 18? The owner did say I shouldn't have been so honest !

Do not accept credit or debit cards so make sure you take the cash to pay for your pitch.

Overall a great site for a weekend with a big group that isn't very far from home for us. Would definitely use it again. Not sure I would camp on it for longer than a weekend though.

Really enjoyed our stay of four nights, very well run site, owners very helpful and pleasant. Clean toilets. 50p showers lasted a long time. No shop onsite but garage across road well stocked but you have to cross busy road. The road was noisy the first night but didn't really notice it after that. Nice walk to pub which did good value meals. Would recommend this site. We will be returning. The £6 fee charged for departure after 12pm was not a problem as you can stay until 6pm if you wish.
