Excellent site right next door to a wonderful dog friendly beach, that is so easy to access in less than 2 minutes. (When approaching the site look out for the Seadrift Centre, which is the same building as reception, we nearly drove past, just spotting the tiny Caravan & Motorhome sign at the last minute).
Grass pitches, but very firm and well drained, some are a bit uneven so you may need leveling blocks. The showers and toilets are spotlessly clean, very good laundry room and indoor washing up area.
The wardens are extremely friendly and welcoming and have a really good knowledge of the local area. There is dining pub just a short walk away, unfortunately not dog friendly, plus the Rock Rose Gin distillery.
The on site shop has the basics. No site wifi as yet, but coming soon, not a problem as we found the phone signal (and TV signal) excellent. We pitched on the beach side of the site and did not have any problem with road noise. Worth booking ahead as it is a very popular site, we would certainly use it again.

A good site, fantastic beach location and with facilities as to be expected for CC. Great wardens. Best site in the area and very good value. I was lucky to be there during the annual Orca week up at Duncansby head.
Some may miss having no site IT access but it is no great hardship. No designated child play area but with 2 miles of sandy beach on the door step again it should not be a deterrent.

Stayed here for two nights. Site was full second week of May. Very busy due to extra traffic brought in by the North Coast 500.
Site managers were very friendly and helpful.
The site is next to the road and there is a bit of noise from traffic.
Pitches on hard standing and grass. Facilities were very good as you expect with the Caravan and Motorhome Club. You do get a key to access toilets which is a bit of a nuisance. There were only two dishwashing sinks and this caused a queue after breakfast.
Good value site at £17 a night for members, two adults and electric.
There are laundry facilities. Wiring was just being put in for WiFi so there should be WiFi near the reception in the near future. TV signal was good.
There is a bar/restaurant about half a mile up the road which has WiFi and is very modern and looks nice. It does not allow any dogs in any part of it which means it is turning away half its potential customers from the camp site.

This is an ideal site for exploring the extreme north east of Scotland. The site lacked a bit in camping atmosphere. Most people keeping very much to themselves. And lots of overnight stayers rather than people settling in for several nights or a week.
We stayed for a week in a tent with EHU. The site predominantly caters for motorhomes and caravans rather than tents, however they do have a small designated area for tent pitching. We also noticed a few tents were pitched outwith the designated area.
Site is mostly flat and sheltered by the sand dunes. The beach is accessible on foot within a couple of minutes walk maximum from the site. The beach is good but it had a lot of jellyfish washed up when we visited.
Facilities are clean and ample. Plenty of hot water and no queues despite the site being quite busy.
Tent pitching area can get a bit boggy after heavy rain. Useful to use a footprint under your tent.
Supermarkets and other shops in nearby Thurso (15 minute drive). The site had a small shop stocking essentials.
Definitely one of the better sites on the Scottish north coast.

What a wonderful site. Great staff. Great views. Facilities as expected for a club site. Despite there being only 3 shower cubicles I didn't have to queue. No wifi. Little radio reception. Intermittent phone signal. Perfect! We are planning to return next year.

Great four night stay at delightful seaside site with great facilities. Some criticism of road noise totally unfounded and delightful sound of nearby waves quite enjoyable. Plenty to do locally including gin/vodka distillery, good hotel restaurant, cycling, walking and just enjoying the area noting the day trip to Orkney an absolute must. Chocks required on many pitches as slightly undulating but not hilly. Laundry and shower facilities exceptional and site generally good value. Dishwashing area a little small but ok at non busy times. A nice size well kept site with pleasant well organised wardens. A few hard standings would help at fringe season times would be a useful addition.

One night stay while doing the NC500. Wished we had booked for longer. Popular site with passing campers so glad we had booked ahead. Good clean facilities which you have to use a key for to get in. Wardens give you this when you book in but reception is only open from 9-11am and 4-6pm. Fine if you have facilities on board as you can check in later but not if you are in a VW campervan. Glad I knew this from a Caravan club review otherwise be would have been scuppered if we had arrived later in the evening. This info is not in booking details. Fabulous beach for dog and husband to run around on. We were the only people on it at times. Lovely sunset too. There is an A road next to site so we made sure not to pitch on that side but we didn't notice it overnight.

Nice site up to the Caravan Club standards. I agree that some hardstandings are needed. But I understand the CC are reluctant to put them in for the same reason they won't connect the site to the Club WiFi (which we had paid for in advance). They say the season is too short to justify either of these expenses!
Come on CC, you know you can afford it, you have huge reserves!
This was our second visit and would definitely go back there.

Only stayed two nights.
Spectacular place, right on the beach and what a beach.
Lovely walks and cycling paths very near and even on the beach at low water.
Don't miss sunsets and the shirt drive up to Dunnet Head is a must.
Good facilities but some pitches a bit lumpy so blocks needed.

Just stayed for four nights at this site. The situation is lovely, very close to the wonderful beach. All pitches are on fairly level grass and well spaced out, so no feeling of overcrowding.
Sanitary block is the usual high standard of the Caravan club with clients being allocated keys for the use of the facilities.
It is by nature of the situation a very open site and therefore gets full blast from high winds and driving rain. Awnings and canopies could be a problem.
Our big gripe and it came as quite a shock was the amount of traffic noise from the main Thurso to John 'o Groats road which runs immediately alongside the site. It seemed to be unrelenting day and most of the night and have to say, did spoil our stay considerably. And for this reason we would not revisit.
The surrounding countryside is quite nice although flat. We visited Dunnet Head, Castle of Mey, Thurso and the Isles of Orkney. Ferries run frequently during the summer months.
