Very pleasant weekend spent camping at the Wernddu Golf Club. Staff couldn't have been friendlier in the Clubhouse/bar area and the shower and toilet facilities were very good and, even with very wet weather, kept clean and in good order.
As said by other reviews, food is served on site at the bar until 3pm, the breakfasts were very good, good value and decent enough quality and the service was helpful and friendly throughout.
Only downside was the camping field was a little overgrown and while it had been cut recently the cut grass was left on the field and so ended up everywhere. Also the toilet block required a code, I'm not sure this is necessary given the location of the place and presumably as all campers have access to them anyway. But as said they were clean and well kept so perhaps their experience is that this is necessary.
I'd happily go back.

As the name suggests, this site is on the grounds of a golf club so found it quite quirky! You check in within the club house which had a nice atmosphere. We stopped for a drink and were also looking forward to some food but they don’t cook in an evening.
The pitches were good, quite sloping but good and each has their own water and drainage. The toilets were new and cleanish but cold, they are heated but it was not turned on.
You can walk into town which is nice or the site does sit on many cycle routes which is a bonus. There are plans to extend the site so I do wonder how the facilities will cope. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Just returned from our latest stop at this site. We use it as it is near our daughter who lives nearby in a caravan. We have stayed by the road and further in the site and must admit the noise by the road could be a problem.
The pitches are nice and flat so no problems there, and plenty of room for the car. The new toilet and shower block is superb. Each cubicle has its own toilet, basin and shower, so plenty of room and privacy. Very well equipped and maintained. Good washing up area and site nicely laid out. We didn't find the golfers starting early a problem.
Not far from Abergavenny town centre and set in beautiful countryside with the Skirrid overlooking the site. We will be returning to this site many more times.

Just returned from a 2 night stay
Camp site small and near main road very noisy also right next to golf course so woken at 7am every morning by golfers teeing off. Toilet facilities had no toilet rolls or hand drying facilities available. Please note, new owners have built brand new facilities ( including disabled ) as of 2008.
Not very dog friendly, or camper orientated, although staff very friendly and helpful.
On site bar available and waitrose about 15 mins away. Golf course very nice and cheap rate if you camp.
Nice areas to walk

This site has now been taken over under new management (currently the owners of the golf club)
The site is undergoing major construction works due to be completed soon. This comprises of a new shower/toilet block, road access, site layout etc. This really is a delightful site run by friendly and helpful staff. The site is adjacent to the golf course (with club house where good food can be purchased). Plenty to do in the surrounding area even if your not a golfer. Beautiful walking areas. Beautiful scenery all around the site, no matter where you are sited the views are spectacular. Highly recommended Approximately 1 mile outside of Abergavenny

This place is based next to a golf course/driving range and falconry. We parked our tent next to a horse field, where there was a horse and a very friendly shetland pony! It was next to quite a busy country lane so we could hear the cars speeding past every now and then at night.
The toilets/showers were quite a walk away from where we were. They were very old and not so clean, in what seemed like a shed than a proper building. Hot water was free but the showers had very low pressure. Please note, new owners have built brand new facilities ( including disabled ) as of 2008.
There is a little pub in the golf club. We noticed on the second night that there were a couple of rats about in the field (expected I suppose where there are animals), so if you go there, don't leave any food about outside your tents!
