Just spent one week at killerby old hall. Very nice pleasant site. All hard standing and everything kept clean and tidy.
Play area for the kids
Large playing football field away from caravans
Woodland walks
Very helpful owners
Clean toilets and showers never any queues.
Indoor pool nice touch.
Not far from cayton bay walk by road or by car.
Local shop/chippy/pub all within walking distance
Morrisons 1 mile, tesco in filey.
This site we thought was good but just needed a few more things tweaking.
Would benefit from on site shop for milk bread etc
Not enough keys to go round for swimming pool and is £10 deposit. There are only 25 pitches why not give each pitch a key when they arrive.
No signal for tv. You will need a tv ariel with normal end on one side and screw bit on the other. £5 from reception if you forget.
None of the above including swimming pool are on web site which we felt needed updating.
These are small moans as this site is lovely.

A really lovely well-run site. The pitches are nicely spaced apart and don't feel cramped. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent - really clean and smell lovely - fresh flowers in the window is a nice touch.
The dog walk round the fields was very pleasant. We disturbed a deer that bounded away across a hedge much to the delight of our border terrier (luckily on the lead at the time!)
There is an active rookery in the tall trees. Fascinating to watch them collecting twigs, less good to hear them 'cawing' first thing in the morning! But that's nature for you.
The walk to Cayton Bay is about a mile and a half away by foot and there is a footpath all the way. The beach is lovely for dogs and people - especially in this glorious spring weather.
All in all a lovely place and we will return

One of our favourite sites
Great location on an Olde Hall / estate with lovely buildings, clean, quiet, Showers and toilets very warm and clean
Nicely laid out with plenty of space and level pitches. Minutes from coast and shops with added bonus of giant car boot on sundays 200 yards away
The indoor heated swimming pool is the biggest bonus as is the TV ariel hook ups at no extra cost.
Great Value for money.

What a great site staff so friendly. Location great for lots of places to visit. Was here for New Year break I asked Jayne for recommendations for a pub to visit for New Year night and was invited to her private party she has on site you cannot get more friendly than that. We declined and went to a local pub 10 mins away which was lovely but did call in when we got back. The Happy New Year event was in the games room with pool,d art board, video games machines, sofas and videos to use and again was asked to stay for a drink. We had a dip in the indoor pool room was warm but pool a little cool but soon got used to that. Will most certainly use this cracking site again.

Stumbled on this site by accident - looking for a winter week with hardstanding and other creature comforts. Well what a well kept secret this is - Quiet and secluded with enough pitches that you don't feel alone but not too many or packed together that you feel cramped.
It poured with rain and howled a gale - the toilet were still clean and warm and the pitch wasn't flooded. 5 mins from Scarborough for shopping centre or slotties and beach. Filey for fish n chips and a gentle walk. Think we have found our new winter get away.
If your bored of being on over crowded campsite with dirty toilets and shower - but want the beach, swimming pool, games room and field for kids to play ball and ride bikes in. Takeaways that deliver to reception give this site a go.
Graham and Jayne will give you a warm welcome and advise for good pubs and places to visit

Selected this site for its location as it was not too far from relatives who live near by. My mum had done a recky of several sites around the Seamer / Cayton / Ayton areas and she said this was by far the nicest and friendliest on first impressions. She wasn't wrong!
Had a lovely pitch in a corner. Electric, waste and rubbish all close by. Bonus of having tv aeriel points (which pleased our 12 year old son. Easy walk into local village and also to Cayton Village campsite where some friends were stopping nearby. Morrisons just down the road, if you know how to find it.
Dog walk around the fields adjoining the site. Large area behind the site for ball games etc.
The weather deteriorated towards the end of our stay, culminating in some very high winds for the bank holiday weekend. The owners rang to say they had taken down our awning which had come loose due to the winds, which I thought was very good of them.
As we were there for the week, I took adjacent of the laundry facilities. Washer was brilliant, but maybe I selected the wrong programme as it seemed to take about 2 hours for a small load!
Easy access to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. Steep walk down to Cayton Bay beach, but there is a road for cars but not a lot of parking at the bottom. A beach hut sells warm drinks etc. You can hire wet suits from the surf shop at the top by the main car park. Costs about £20 for 4 hours but is a must for kids who want to boogy board in the North Sea on a cold windy August day.

Just stayed at killerby old hall for the Easter week and although the weather was not so good the site was excellent. The toilets and showers were kept spotless. The use of the swimming pool was a added bonus. Very helpful owners who was all to willing to assist in any way. The position of the site was also great 2 min from village with shops and pubs and 10 min to Scarborough and Filey. The pitches were generous with electric hook up and Tv cable points. The site was well worth the trip and would not hesitate to book again.

What a great little site.
We have just had a weekend here and thought the site was excellent.
The pitches are large, hard standing, and level, with electric and TV hook up points ( you can use one of the site Ariel cables for a £5 deposit if you don't have your own )
The toilets were clean and tidy, with good showers and very hot water.
The site also has an heated indoor swimming pool which we had to ourselves, just put the lights out and lock up when your done.Superb.
Also there's a games room with pool table, table tennis, darts, a couple of arcade games machines, plenty of books and seating.
We had a full day washed out by the weather but these facilities made up for it.
Cayton village is about 5 minutes walk away, where you can find 2 pubs,a fish and chip shop, and a General store,( and there could be others I don't know about )we never used any of these but I was told they were good.
Highly recommended site, and will be going back again.

Just returned home from this site today (02/11/08) and I can't praise it enough
Thoroughly excellent site, that's run by nice people
The pitches are excellent size and hardstanding and the shower block is one of the best we've ever seen - it was spotless and really warm
I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone.
In fact we would happily go back
I would also mention that the location is ideal for anyone touring the east coast

We have recently stored our van here being new to caravaning we are lucky to find such a lovely place and I agree with the other review. The owners are friendly and can't do enough to help. A lovely relaxing site in a fab position. Local village is a short stroll away with its two pubs chip shop and post office. Not too far to walk to the beach and within a short drive from a supermarket and Filey. If you want to venture further afield there`s Bridlington, Robin Hoods Bay Whitby or Scarbrough itself, lots to do.
The beauty is you get the countryside views farms etc and the joy of the beach sea air and great rock pools. Best of both worlds.
The site is family run level well drained FAB keep up the good work we will be returning again and again already have 3 weeks and weekends booked .
