First time camping as a family, with two children 8 and 5. Stayed for two nights and had a fabulous time. Weather was mixed. Good size camping field, plenty of room, although someone decided to camp right next to us.
Very clean toilet block and family shower room. Good washing up facilities, very hot water. Great base for visiting Longleat. Highly recommended, would visit again.

We had read the reviews of this campsite and it had vacancies so we booked it! The site is nicely looked after and they were cutting the grass during our visit. There is adequate space between pitches. I had a quick look at the tent area which is in a separate field. Do not think they had electric hook up. Our pitch backed onto the stream and this gave us some extra space compared to some of the other pitches.
The owner was very friendly offering information on the local area.
The only area I wasn't keen with was the lack of showers, there was 1 female, 1 male and 1 in the Family Room. I waited for 20 mins for one of the showers to become available. The washing up area has 2 sinks but there is not enough space for 2 people with their washing up so you either were cramped or waited for the other person to leave. The ladies toilet had a good hairdrier in it.
Would stay here again but it could do with some more showers and better washing up area.
Location is good, about 5 miles to Longleat and 25 mins to Bath. There is a Sainsburys within a 10 minute drive too.

Stayed at Seven Acres for a weekend away with my girlfriend and a few friends, and so glad we chose to stay here. The campsite is well maintained, showers and toilets all in excellent condition and very clean. Owners were very friendly and accommodating, and the price was amazingly good value (£10 a pitch when we stayed)
The site is within a very short drive of Longleat, which is what attracted us to stay here. Had lots of space to choose to pitch where we wanted as the campsite was pretty empty. Also plenty of room for setting up a BBQ, and there are a few picnic tables dotted about the site that can be used for seating. Very picturesque setting too as the edge of the campsite has a small stream running through it. Didn't notice the noise from the nearby roads - these were barely audible.
Only downside I can think of would be that you need a car to get to Frome or the nearby supermarkets, unless you fancy a fairly long walk. Otherwise, cannot recommend highly enough - would definitely stay again if ever we were in the area! :)

This was our first camping experience in my sister's campervan. We were looking for a site near Longleat and were reluctant to choose this site due to lack of photos and further details. However, with no places left on surrounding sites we booked here and we are so glad we did.
The site owner was away but we were fully looked after by her replacement. The site is just the right size to create a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Rules are obeyed but it is not too formal.
There is a little stream that our 22mth old loved paddling in and fishing with a net. The camping field was fairly empty so that meant a large space for our son to play with his ball.
I really would recommend this site, especially for those new to camping who are not sure what to look for or expect. It's clean, friendly and ideally placed.

What a great little site, and very reasonably priced! We stayed here for a few nights and used the place as a jumping off point for Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Bath and others.
The facilities were adequate for the number of campers and the caretaker was diligent in keeping everything as clean and tidy as possible. The weather was great during our stay and the children were kept entertained for ages wading around in the stream. The lack of electric hook-up worried my wife a little, but she quickly got used to it and we didn’t really miss it in the end.
As with other reviewers, we did notice the rail and road noises but they really didn’t detract from the stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights.
The lady was as friendly / helpful in person as she was on the phone! We paid £10 per tent per night, which included as much lovely hot water as you needed! (not bad for Augast)
The site has 2 areas. The hardstanding area for caravans etc then over the bridge over a little stream to the tent field.
The field was basically full around the edge with not much room between tents, but not actually over crowded.
The facilities (and 2 swings) are in the first bit. The ladies had 2 loo's and 1 shower,(I assume the men had the same) then there was a unisex toilet shower room (great for families) and a washing up room with 2 sinks that also had a map and information about the local area.
The ladys toilets were OK. They were well stocked but a little bit spidery, have seen worse but have seen better. There was a good powerful hairdryer as well. The ladies shower seemed quite mildewy so I used the unisex shower which was LOVELY. This room was much more spacious and was very very clean and pleasant to use. Plenty of hooks and a chair to put clothes etc on with a nice clean powerful hot shower!
If you turn left out of the campsite and drive for 5 mins you reach a nice farmshop. We visited Glastonbury Stourhead and Bath which were all very pleasant. The site is very close to Longleat and when the wind blows in the right direction you can hear the Lions roar! (we didn't). We did here a few fast trains as the site is quite close to the train track. This wasn't a problem though.
This site is great for families. Lots of space for ball games in the middle of the field etc.
Recycling is encouraged.
It would be even better if there was a fresh water point in the tent field though so you don't have to carry the water quite so far!
If I needed to return to this area I would come back

We stayed here for a few days to visit Longleat which is just a few minutes drive away.
No EHU for tents so you can choose where to pitch. We became a bit cramped as the steep slope on one side of the field meant everyone was on the same side.
Unfortunately the weather was really bad during our stay (the worst they had seen for some years) and the field became a huge mud bath. The toilets and showers, which were OK, but did get very dirty (and blocked) due to the weather. These are also quite a way from the end of the tent area and seemed even further when it was pouring down. There was also nearly always a queue as there was lots of families on site and only 1 shower in each of ladies/gents and one unisex. Maybe another block in the tent area is what is needed.
The washing up area got locked around 9.30pm. Not a real problem for us but many do tend to eat quite late when camping. Due to the weather we could also have done with a washing machine and tumble drier.
The very basic play area, two swings if memory serves correct, was unusable due to the huge puddle underneath.
The site itself was quiet during our stay, but since it was always raining it wasn't really the weather for sitting out.
The owner was away but the couple looking after the place were very friendly and happy to help.
We would possibly return but we do like to have electric so this may be the thing that would put us off.

My partner and i stayed at this campsie for a long weekend, on arrival found the owners very helpful, the charge of £10.00 pound a night brill.
The site itself was very basic, with seperate areas for your hardstanding and camping areas, you have one shower block containing one female shower, one male, one unisex, and room for washing up,plenty of hot water, free use of hairdryer in ladies. Clean, tidy and sufficient for our use. Ground nice and flat, had a good choice of where we were to going to pitch as not many there when we arrived on fri pm, even though filled up more very quiet and peaceful, you do hear the trains and road traffic at first but after a while you dont even notice it.
Frome town centre with local shops, plenty of takeaways and pubs 15 min drive away, sainsburys 1o min drive away very handy for fresh produce, papers etc. Locals very friendly.
Plenty of attractions to visit, sat did longleat- fantastic, sun went to cheddar gorge, then on mon on way home stopped in bath.
Would definitely stay at this campsite again, only slight downfall we found was that nothing local was reachable by walking and had to take car but not a problem.

Great little site very friendly atmosphere, toilet and shower block was clean and tidy, and adequate for our needs. We pitched on space 1 just 20yards from the the block and took full advantage of them. The people running the campsite are very friendly and with Sainsbury only 2 miles away very handy for the bits you need. A good position to visit places of interest around the area we took in Bath / Glastonbury / and Poole for a day on the beach.
We would definitely recommend this site and will be returning

Stayed at this campsite for two nights mid-week. Really impressed with the look of the campsite. Cash paid in full on arrival. £10/night, very reasonable. Tent field is over a little bridge. Lots of space and picnic tablets dotted about which where such a good idea and well used. The road and rail noise did not disturb my sleep, although the cows in the neighbouring field were very vocal on our second night, maybe because a storm was brewing. Word of warning, when there has been heavy rain, take care on the wooden bridge. I fell flat on my bottom and now have a very sore back! My own fault really.
Toilets were nice. There were only three showers, one men, one women and one uni-sex. This wasn't a problem at the time of our stay but not sure how busy the site gets at weekends? Hairdryer in the ladies, very useful. Towel could have done with being replaced as looked dirty but was put out to dry instead for next day! Water was very hot, can't complain there.
I'm a novice to camping and the last place I visited had a freezer to put your freezer blocks in for your cool box. I don't think this camp site had this facility which would have been extremely useful. We cooled some of our beers in the stream by tying a guy rope around them and a branch of a tree.
Sainsbury's five minute drive away. We spent day at Longleat and was very convenient for that. Didn't have much time to explore more. Had a lovely relaxed time despite the rain and thunder storms. Would definitely return to this campsite as it was very peaceful and pretty.
