An excellent site, well run and very well maintained. Shower block is clean and not overcrowded. Laundry facilities are also good and clean. One of the benefits is the Loft Restaurant/Bistro which serves a nicely presented menu which is value for money but 'special'. Owners/managers extremely helpful and very pleasant.

Would definitely not recommend this site to anyone, especially people with children. £15/night, packed in like sardines, space for 5 berth with porch awning, but no car. "No Ball Games / no Frisbee's" signs everywhere. Nowhere for kids to play, no open ground, only views were of other caravans, big green Statics & sky. River was not visible (because all the expensive Statics / cabins blocking the view ) except on the adjacent river bed (a path to which, was provided) consisted of very large pebbles (not easy to walk on). Kids play area no longer exists. Nearest one is out main gate, along busy road, across river, to public park. On site pool is nice but very small for given site size & not free. Kids are £2.50/session, adults (I think) more expensive. On site restaurant very, very expensive & "not recommended" by seasonal visitors we spoke to. Certainly not "appropriate" for a camp site. Toilets:- (gents) 4 small toilet/sink cubicles & 2 showers leading out to central urinal / single sink / hairdryer / hand dryer (1) area. Although "pleasant" in decor, none of the cubicles provided soap or paper towels / hand dryers. Mirrors were provided in some cubicles but were not above the sink, so useless for washing your face or shaving !. Elsan disposal:- A joke - water tap had no hose fitted & was placed too close to top of toilet bowl so impossible to sit your tank on top of bowl (under tap) to fill for flushing. Worst of all (especially for campers) they have the cheek to charge 20p / basin (not a full sink) for hot water to wash dishes. Water supply:- not apparently mains pressure so took ages to fill 25ltr container. Would be a mistake to connect your rig directly to "mains". In summary, It would appear to be "grab as much loot off the punters as you can" philosophy. Honestly cannot see where it got a "Best in Scotland" from. Possibly different perspective if you want a Static or Cabin, but not for a "Touring Family".

September 2005 A beautiful site, although the touring area is small and access is through an area of statics. I thought pitches were a bit close together and probably could not have erected my awning if the adjacent pitch had been occupied. Facilities are of a high standard, but I found having to pay 20p for dishwashing a bit offputting (when showers are free !) Did not try the pool or restaurant, but the adjacent River Tilt Hotel was welcoming and served good food at a reasonable price.

March 2005 This is a beautiful peaceful site with lovely views. However it is quite small when trying to manouver large caravans. The pool facilities are fantastic especially with small children as the baby pool is great. Be sure to follow directions and do not go down the lodge area with a caravan as you will get stuck!!

July 2004 Very small organised site, all pithes small and fenced off and only just fitted our tent in ours and was only pitch it would have fitted on on site. No play area for kids and kids 6 and 9 said site was full of do not posters. Toilet facilities very clean on arrival very warm good hairdrier although cleanliness went down as site got buisier. Excellent pool though expensive. Nice site, well kept, excellent views, worth paying for, a bit too organised for us though.

October 2003 Agreed as previous, just been and did feel that at £12 per night it was a bit dear for this time of year, the only free attractions being very good toilets, very well laid out and a great location. The swimming pool looked great but cost £3.50 per person per hour to campers and £4 to non campers.

Aug 2003 A small touring site amongst well maintained and un imposing statics, we found the site clean well maintained and quiet, the facilities although limited clean and adequate, the site is less cluttered than the castle site, you are a 100 m walk from a very good 9 hole golf course and about the same to a well stocked off site Spar shop. The scenery is out of this world and is an ideal launch pad to all the areas of interest. For a liitle extra payment access can be gained to the leisure facilities at the adjoining hotel. Well worth the visit if you are in that area. We'll be back
