Having read the existing reviews of this site, we were not sure what to expect and went with an open mind. Having stayed for two weeks on the site, we can see what everyone meant in previous reviews but we thought the site was good and would happily return again.
The pitches are close together and that would probably be our one criticism of the site. We were lucky because we had an end pitch and had plenty of room. However, other pitches were struggling with space.
The toilet block was always clean and we didn't have to queue for a shower or the washing up sink once in two weeks even though the site was full. The shower was better than ours at home! The automatic sensors for the lighting broke while we were there, but they were fixed the same day.
We used the clubhouse on a number of occasions and found the staff very friendly, the drinks a reasonable price and the entertainment of a high standard. There was lots to do including pool tables, darts and a table tennis table. Our daughter also enjoyed the children's playground.
We used the newly refurbished launderette and that was very good.
The swimming pool was excellent, with a lifeguard on duty all the time. Yes, it would be great to be able to swim early in the morning or later in the evening, but considering the lifeguard was also the bar staff in the clubhouse, I can see why the hours were not as long! The heater did break at the pool one day, but it was fixed very quickly.
The shop was adequately stocked with essentials (including chocolate and ice cream!), and there were lots of leaflets for things to do in the surrounding area.
The site is excellently located, with short journeys to the centre of Lowestoft, Oulton Broad and Great Yarmouth. There is a very regular bus service that takes you to the major coastal towns and villages which we used on a number of occasions.
The site is within walking distance of a Co-op and Spar and an excellent bakery or it is a short drive to Morrisons.
'Africa Alive' is excellent and worth a visit, as is the Pets corner at Oulton Broad. There is a great car boot sale every Sunday at Africa Alive which we spent far too much money at! We walked all the way to Kessingland on the beach, found an excellent tea shop in the village and then got the bus home. There is a fantastic restaurant in North Lowestoft called 'Sgt Peppers' which is worth a visit, and 'The Wherry' in Oulton Broad does an excellent carvery.
Responding to other comments about the site being in the middle of a housing estate and surrounded by a wooden fence, yes, it isn't the most picturous location in the world. However, the short walk to the cliff top, the adequate facilities and most importantly friendly and helpful staff at the site, more than makes up for this.
When we visit Lowestoft again we will book on this site again. No it isn't the height of luxury, but it is more than good enough!

Stayed on this site recently for a week. The pitches are all grass and our pitch was very muddy as the previous occupant must have had an awning up and not lifted the groundsheet (as they are supposed to daily). If you do have an awning there is very little space for your car and very little room for sitting outside you caravan so the pitches could do with being slightly larger and possibly hardstanding.
The toilet/shower facilities were adequate, however the shower (and there is only one in the ladies and one in the gents) was no larger than a shower cubicle in your caravan and there was very little room to get dried afterwards.
There had previously been a fold down seat but this had been broken off and had never been repaired. There was a security keypad on the outside of the facilities for entry and once dark you needed a torch for entry into the Ladies. There was a light outside the Gents, Disabled Loo and the pot washing area but the Ladies shared the light with the pot washing area and this was round the corner so made it impossible to see the keypad.
These facilities appeared only to be cleaned at weekends and during busy periods need to be cleaned at the very least - daily.
There is no security on site (eg barriers) and as the reception was not near the Touring site it would be very easy for people to gain entry who were not staying on the site. Also the Pitches are advertised as 'Serviced'. The pitches are not serviced and you will require your water and waste hoggs. When I queried this the person I spoke to thought having electric and a water tap meant it was serviced.
On the plus side, the site was very close to a lovely coastal path that took you into Lowestoft either by foot or bike and the site was also perfectly situated for visiting the surrounding area of Kessingland, Southwold, Oulton Broads, aand Great Yarmouth. The heated outdoor pool is also a bonus.
Overall our stay was ok but we will not be returning to this site.

Stayed in static caravan for a change. Caravan was very good and modern and no extra charge for our dog. The site is very clean and well laid out and caravans not on top of each other.
Small shop for basics with playground just outside also nice looking clubhouse next to it with plenty of outside tables. Short walk down lane and you come to path along cliffs and beech.
Fantastic walks along cliff and nice looking pub after about 15minute walk. Chip shop and other takeaways 5 minutes in car in Pakefield village.
As a touring van owner myself the touring part was small but flat and grassy and nice looking toilet block been on a lot worse.
All in all had a great week on a small but friendly site with all the facilities of bigger site and would not hesitate in booking again.

We chose this site because we wanted somewhere near the sea, which it is, being on a clifftop. When I rang at tea time to book, no one answered the phone, so I left a message and they rang back the following morning, the reception is only open until 5pm.
The instructions for finding the site were very accurate and it is signposted too. The man on the phone had given us a pitch number, and told us to find the pitch first, then come to reception to check in, and to get the code for the facilities.
The park is huge, with hundreds of mobile homes, and just a small area at the side for touring caravans and campervans, tents are not allowed. However the touring area is very neat and tidy, the pitches are flat and grassy, and marked out.
The sanitary block is new and kept very clean. The facilities are limited, in the ladies were 2 toilets, 2 basins and 1 shower. There was a hairdryer and hand dryer, I believe the gents was similar. The washing up room had 1 sink, and the water wasn't very hot. There was a separate disabled room, but the code didn't work on that door.
If there had been more people using the facilities, it might have been helpful to offer the disabled facility. As it was, I had to report a light out in one of the ladies toilets, which was quickly replaced, and the sliding door on the shower had come off at the hinges. The lights switched on automatically, but switched off before I had finished my shower, and I had a moment of panic in the pitch black before 'waving' it on again.
There is a swimming pool in the area over the lane, but it is only open from 10.00am to 3.00pm during the week, with a slightly later close at the weekend. We didn't bother going in, if it had been open in the evening we might have done. There is a clubhouse, we were given free membership passes for the days we were there, but didn't go in. There is a laundry next door to reception, but it closes at 5.00pm, and a children's' playground.
From the site entrance it is a short walk down the lane to the clifftop overlooking the sea, you can walk, or cycle, along the path which takes you into Lowestoft, which has the usual seaside amenities.
This site is convenient for visiting the Norfolk/Suffolk coast, also for Norwich. We would use it again, but we were paying more for facilities we didn't use.

We are maybe spoilt by the lovely sites we've enjoyed before but I was quite disappointed with this one. The place is basically a static site with a tiny touring site bolted on as an afterthought.
The pitches are very close together, the area is right next to both the main 'road' through the site and a housing estate and is surrounded by a tatty fence. My two children found it an uninspiring place to play but made the best of it, despite the fact everyones cars were parked awkwardly as there's not enough room between the vans.
The toilet block was very clean but one shower and two toilets is nowhere near enough and the shower cubicle is tiny.
We were visiting friends in Lowestoft so I chose this site because it was quite close to them and was reasonably priced but also for the pool - which closed at 5 and was absolutely freezing.
You obviously get what you pay for and in future I will be paying more to stay somewhere nicer, I don't go on holiday to pitch in what is essentially a glorified car park

Have just returned today from this site having stayed there since last Monday (bank holiday Monday). Thank goodness for what another reviewer called the unwanted rules. The site was immaculate, no noisy drunken parties, everybody either in their own vans or the club house after 8 so peaceful for those of us who like peace and quiet in the evenings.
Toilets were immaculate and because there are no tents or groups the one shower for ladies and one for gents was perfectly adequate on a full site. Had showers every day at different times and never had to wait and always spotless.
Walked into Lowestoft easily, buses taken to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Kessingland easily and of course free as over retirement age! Dogs were many but thanks to the rules all kept under control and lovely company.
Staff very helpful, only draw back for me, no way of connecting water to hosepipe and so could not fill up but very obliging staff filled the tank up to the top for me using their own equipment. Launderette was excellent as well so all my clothes and bedding clean for coming home.

Lovely site. Good pitch sizes. Toilet facilities new and very clean. Lovely hot water and power shower (only 1 but adequate as not a large site. Play area for children and on site pub/entertainment. Outside swimming pool a bonus. Very pleasant staff.
Good washing facilities and reception selling basic needs. Easy walk to beach. Very good price considering location and facilities.
Only gripe for us was the regulation stating no electricity nor sleeping allowed in awnings. It makes caravanning with 2 adults and 2 older children a bit close for comfort- (we like to separate our 2 boys as they fight and argue if kept in close proximity to each other).
Otherwise would recommend this site. Easy drive to large retail area and walking distance to MacDonalds.

The 12 touring pitches are located close to the site entrance approached off a road close to housing. The site's main purpose is for static caravans.
However the level pitches are supported by a very clean and still new looking toilet block with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The cleaners came in every morning and kept them spotless.
A short walk up to the main road takes you to a bus stop and buses pass on a regular basis. Supermarkets are close by. A very pleasant walk along Pakefield cliffs past numerous benches to rest on and pubs to eat at brings you to Lowestoft seafront.
Not the most glamorous site to stay but clean, cheap, friendly quiet and close to the beautiful cliffs and Lowestoft

Me and my husband stayed here for a couple of weeks in september.
The part of the park that is set up for touring is obviously a brand new area. The toilet and shower block consisted of a new mobile unit, which was cleaned and restocked daily.
The park it self is right on the sea front overlooking the beach. (which allows dogs all year) and although the touring part is on the other side of the park it is so close it doesn't matter too much. There is a lovely outdoor pool which is heated and always has a lifeguard on duty. They had a rule in place that any children under the age of 14 had to be accompanied which is great as you don't get kids running about like lunatics.
The club is very good. Although it was quiet you were made to feel welcome every time you entered. And unlike some holiday parks the prices were cheaper then a lot of my local pubs.
If I had to pick two things that really stood out for me it would be the quiet and relaxing nature of the place and the staff as they we so friendly.
I've already booked for 2010.

This was a last minute booking after a change of direction due to the weather forecast but looking in the site book this seemed to be just what we (2 caravans, 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog) were looking for as we fancied something near the coast with beach access and a bar on site.
We booked and paid in full over the phone and arrived on BH monday.
The site is situated in the middle of a housing estate and is mainly a static site with 12 touring pitches. The touring area looks like an after thought and our first impressions were very disappointing. The touring area can only be described as scrub land surrounded by a tatty fence. There are houses to 3 sides and statics to the front.
Not to be put off we unhitched etc and then had a look at the paperwork we were given, the rules stated:
No electical equipment in awnings
No sleeping in awnings
No windbreaks on touring site (though they were plentiful on the static site)
No tents (This made it very difficult as our teenagers prefer to sleep in a pup tent)
No noise after 8pm
The site boasts a outdoor pool which the kids enjoyed however the club/bar was deserted with no sign of any entertainment even on a BH. The shop consisted of a few shelves but on the positve side it did sell ice-creams and papers.
On a positve note the showers/toilets block was new and immaculate, although I suspect 2 showers for 12 pitches would mean a lot of queing if the site was full.
We decided to cut out losses and leave the site 3 days early and will definitely not be going back. We did speak to the staff about the state of the site and the stange rules. Apparantley the touring area is due for futher work and some of the rules may be reviewed in the future.
