We stayed here in our touring caravan over new year and had a lovely time. The site is immaculate and was kept that way during our stay. Toilets warm and cleaned daily. We were on the seafront which was beautiful but open to the elements when the wind blows! Perfect for dog owners like ourselves-right on the beach and grass parks next door. Although we don't have kids, the playpark right next door is amazing and also a small skate park for the teens. Pitches are well spaced and are all hard standing. Monifieth town is 10mins walk and has many takeaways and tesco/farmfoods. Dundee is just 15mins drive for bigger shops and supermarkets.
Only problem, minor as it is, was getting into the site! You have to go under the railway through a tight tunnel and it wasn't well signposted, but once there it is a lovely stay and we will be returning. Recommended site to visit.

Fantastic caravan park with great views of the sea.
Staff friendly & welcoming.
The caravan park was very clean and tidy in all area's.
Ample space in launderette with two sinks.
Very clean shower facilities with plenty of toilet cubicles.
Good gym facilities with steam room's and sauna.
Having three children of very different ages it was perfect because the park is next to a fantastic play area.

Just back after 4 nights camping, after our first time in a tent !
The Staff could not have been more friendly, and they were really helpful too.
The location of the site is excellent. A great base for exploring the area. Head down to Broughty Ferry if you visit, great beach, Excellent Park, castle which is free and we even seen Dolphins swimming up the Tay when we were there !
Showers and campers toilet area were clean and tidy with hot water. Operated by a code for the door which is brilliant, no need to mess around with keys!
Sea View from our pitch and you can hear the sea from your tent !
On the downside, there is a bit of a walk to the beach as the gate is at the main entrance.
There is no park on the site, the nearest one is around 10 minute walk, although it is a fantastic park. There is no where for the kids to congregate on the park, and there are no ball games allowed ANYWHERE on the park.
All in all a decent park.

Spent 3 nights at this lovely site and wished we could have stayed a bit longer.
Reception was friendly and helpful and we were given a pitch overlooking the beach. Plenty of room for awning and car.
Showers and toilet facilities were very clean and well maintained, we were given a key to access them.
As said on previous reviews supermarket and take aways were just a short walk away
Plenty of fun for children, as well as the beach for kite fying, there were 2 play parks suitable for all ages, tennis courts and bowling just outside the site, and for the older 'kids' a golf course
The site was very pretty and despite the wet summer the garden areas surrounding the pitches were well kept.

We often used to pop up to stay at Riverview years ago as it is only an hour away and ideal location for a weekend when the children were young. This year we decided to revisit and were absolutely delighted to see how fab the site is now. We have stayed twice this year, so far and will certainly be back.
The wardens are very friendly and extremely helpful. The site is really lovely, very nicely landscaped with lots of trees, shrubs and fencing separating some of the pitches.
The toilets were spotlessly clean and there are dishwashing, laundry and vegetable preparation areas too. There is a small play park for wee ones but just outside the site there is a great play park and skate park for kids of all ages. Adults can book to use the small gym, sauna and steam room.
The site is situated right beside the shore, so great for windsurfing, kitesurfing etc or just playing on the beach. Also really good for walking the dog - beach stretches for 2 or 3 miles. The cycle path follows the coastal path right through to Dundee.
There is a Tesco, a chippy and a couple of other take aways, bakers and a few other shops a few minutes walk away from the site. Broughty Ferry has some more and is only a short drive away.
Dundee is only 15 mins drive away or there is a regular bus service from the main street. I was surprised to see a previous review saying there is not much to see in Dundee as there is actually a lot is a lot to see and do! There is a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and shops plus lots of interesting attractions. Some suggestions:

Stayed on site recently for first time - wouldn't go back and certainly wouldn't recommend this site.
The site accepts caravans being towed by commercial transit type vehicles, the caravan not displaying any registration number.
Sorry for such a negative review but it is important for customers to know what to expect and therefore make their own choice.

Great site and staff very friendly. Lots to do for kids. The site has its own play park for youngsters.
However you can ask for a pitch away from the park and with a sea view if you don't want the 'kids at play' noise. There is also a skate park and larger play park just outside the camp site gate.
Nice walks along to Monifeith.
Broughty Ferry is nice to walk round and has a Tesco's, chinese, chippy and the like just five minutes walk from the site.
Clean functional toilets too. Will likely go back to this site in the future.

We stayed here with a group of friends and hope to do a return visit.
This is a well run site with friendly staff. We were lucky and had quite a large pitch but I did see some that were narrow with only space for caravan & awning - no car space.
Each pitch has it's privacy as there are hedges planted between the units. Easy access to hook-up and good facilities for water & waste.
There is a small park, a games room and the beach is on the door step. The town of Monifeith has a tesco's and some other shops and nearby Arbroath or Dundee have larger supermarkets for stocking up.
The local takeaways will deliver on site if you don't fancy cooking!
A great wee site although it is a bit expensive at £26 a night.

There are quite a few statics on this site. Our pitch was really nice overlooking the sea with beach access.
Monifieth is not a very nice town. It seems a bit run down. It has a decent Tesco and a few local shops. There are 2 pubs in town but neither serve meals. Also another pub that has closed down.
There is a hotel nearby but looked as though it would be quite expensive so didn't go there. There is a fish and chip shop and a Chinese takeaway.
There is a huge play ground just outside the park between Riverview caravan park and another caravan park. Great if you have children.
We walked along the coastal path to Broughty Ferry and Broughty castle. It takes around 40 minutes.
The Castle is free entry which is a pleasant change.
The site itself is a bit 'tired'. 2 washing machines but one didn't work. Also the sauna wasn't working.
Toilet/shower block was fine. There is a bus into Dundee but we decided to drive in.
Not really a lot to see there. It is a bit of a grubby town.
Wouldn't be in a hurry to return to this site. TV, phone and internet reception was good.

This is a great little site. It is well landscaped with wonderful views over the river Tay and access to its beach.
This was our first caravan holiday, over the course of a bank holiday and we were delighted by the help we received and the pitch that we were offered. The site is well landscaped, with a variety of trees, hedging and fencing splitting the site into smaller areas. Everyone on the site was friendly and the facilities were more than sufficient given the number of visitors that weekend.
The site is well situated with easy access to shops, attractions, restaurants etc. And is immediately adjacent to one of the best children's play parks I have ever seen.
A wonderful; weekend and well worth a visit.
