A lovely picturesque quiet site. All units are sited round the lake so there is always something happening - ducks, geese flying in, ducklings swimming, men fishing, people walking round. Everyone was very friendly, the owner James welcomed us and gave us a choice of pitches.
Our nearest toilet block was very clean but the showers were cool maybe cos it was late morning.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and at £5 a day it is very good value. The lake is well stocked with many coarse fish as well as some large carp.
Lots of places to visit nearby, we had a scooter so went to Kings Lynn, Hunstanton, Sandringham, and explored many of the pretty villages.
Ate at the Rose and Crown at Harpley - super food in a lovely old pub.
Would definitely return as it is a haven of peace and quiet yet handy to visit lots of places.

What a great site, peaceful and a joy to wake up in the morning looking over the lake, with all the ducks geese etc. We only stayed 1 night and it was Thursday so could not try the café or bar, which was a pity as it is a walk away from anything. It did not alter our enjoyment of the park though and will definitely be coming back in the not to distant future hopefully. Many thanks guys caroline and ole.

We went there last week (spring half term) along with another LR couple we are friends with.
Great welcome, almost immediate response from the owner who was out and about, to site us in a great location facing the lake.
Arrived Friday just before six and the Fish & Chip van turned up at 7:30. Excellent meal and very fairly priced with excellent service.
Didn't use the bar, although it seems a great spot and well supported. It is open Weds, Fri, Sat & Sun nights.
Four toilet/shower blocks kept spotlessly clean and work well (although I didn't use them personally). Two Elsan points at opposite sides of the lake, one as you go out the main gate, equipped with disposable gloves, anti-bac', etc.
The gate is a barrier with a key fob actuator which is locked between 2300 & 0700 which I thought a nice touch.
18 quid a night all in - EHU and Awning in our case.
If I had to have a moan it was that my Vodafone dongle was low signal GPRS and my phone on EE was most definitely not, 'Everything Everywhere', but that's not the site or the owners' fault in any way.
A shame they can't take tents because we have a camper amongst our 'crew' and so we will have to go elsewhere next time when they come.
Absolutely loads of green lanes to drive in the area along with several nice fords too.
Biggest disappointment of our 8 night stay was putting off the North Norfolk Railway trip until Thursday, only to turn up at Holt station to find out that there was only a diesel service as one of the loco's had derailed outside the shed meaning they couldn't get anything else out! Don't get me wrong, a Class 31 diesel does sound nice, but it ain't steam - you know what I mean (so that was 44 quid they missed out on this time). Gutted!
What was really good was the Muckleburgh Collection, which is on the site of a Royal Artillery training camp. Fantastic private owned military vehicle museum, with a cafe that served an awesome all day brekkie for under 6 quid!
Asda less than 10 mins away on the outskirts of Kings Lynn (other conglomerates are available) or if coming back to the site from the East there's a Tesco and Morrisons in Fakenham (although the Tesco doesn't have fuel) less than 25 mins out.
The biggest bug-bear of all was the Long-let owner next door who turned up around midnight and then decided to cut his grass at 9am the next morning! It's strange, but ever since our first days of caravanning several years ago, it's always the long-lets that seem to cause any issues that might arise. Maybe they think that because they pay all year around, it gives them perks.
'Bout it really. We loved it, that's all that matters!

What a lovely site ! All pitches are around the well stocked lake. Lots of seasonal pitches but not many people around. A bit isolated if you don't have a car but then you go there just to relax, do a bit of fishing, walk round the lake and chat to the neighbours.
We loved the peace and quiet and can't wait to go again. Facilities were very good, nice and clean. We were invited to join the 'regulars' at the small bar which promised to be warm and friendly but husband wouldn't stop fishing ! Very relaxing.

We had planned our trip to Gatton Waters for some time and were really looking forward to our two week stay. Having travelled 400 miles to this site we were pleased to find we were not to be disappointed - I have never been on a caravan site where the other caravanners (seasonal and tourers) are so friendly
On arrival we were met and taken directly to our pitch, which is always facing towards the lake, and is large enough to accommodate a large caravan and awning. The positive comments below already give the warm and friendly attitude of both the owners and the seasonal caravanners, most of whom are also keen anglers.
Although the site does not have a shop there is a shop/garage a short distance away plus the main shopping area of Kings Lynn only 7 miles away.
If you need fishing bait/tackle or advise then visit Shipshape Tackle in Kings Lynn.
Sandringham is only a couple of miles away and the coast not very further.
Fishing is excellent with carp up to 30lbs as well as the usual mixture of coarse fish. Tickets are £4.50p a day and well worth it, just a shame you have to buy a ticket each day before you can fish.
As we do not use the on-site toilets/showers (prefer to use out own) I can't make any comments.
I would certainly recommend this site if your looking for a relaxing, friendly site and enjoy fishing. Oh the bar serves a good pint as well.

We have just returned from this lovely site.
We had a lake view and we weren't expecting to being a tent! The sunsets were fabulous.
The owners were very welcoming.
It is really quiet and peaceful and relaxing apart from the ducks, geese, wood pigeons, seagulls and pheasants - but that's nature. There is some road noise depending on the wind direction. It is also quiet because there are lots of seasonal pitches with no-one there.
We were able to order milk and newspapers daily.
There's a bar which opens 4 nights a week but we didn't use it. Also the fish and chip van comes on a Friday, sadly we weren't there on a Friday.
The shower and toilet block was basic but kept clean. There were only 2 showers and 2 toilets in our block but we never had to queue.
It's a great little site that we would have loved to return to however they are taking no more bookings for tents, just honouring ones already made. Very sad.

We have just come back from our first visit to gatton waters, and what a lovely place it is!
Set around a lake, and yes each pitch really did have a view. The owners make you feel very welcome as do the resident pitch holders, it has a real community feel.
Being adult only it really is quiet and peaceful and relaxing, just what we were after.
The site has a bar, which is open on certain days of the week, and you can order milk and newspapers daily.
The facilities are very pleasant if not a bit basic, shower and toilet blocks comprising of two toilets and two showers, although we never had to wait, and they are indeed very clean and the water is always hot! the washing up station is attached to this also very good, but only one per block, again we never had to wait.
The lake is beautiful plenty of ducks, geese and other waterfowl and wildlife! the lake can be fished for a small daily ticket price, plenty of pegs etc, lake stocked with the usual suspects carp, bream, etc etc.
This site is also very dog friendly (although we didn't take ours this time) it was nice to see so many happy dogs enjoying there holidays too!
It's a good base to tour norfolk, sandringham on the doorstep, and places like cromer and the rest of the coast just down the road, there's lots to see and do.
Fantastic site that we will return to, if you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting then it's definitely recommended!

We have just spent 3 lovely days at Gatton Waters.
It is a lovely site, with all touring pitches surrounding the lake. No children -just quacking ducks.Heaven!
You can fish in the lake if you wish to.
Site owners are very friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by the corrugated toilet blocks -(1 is brick)- they are basic, but to be honest quite modern and very clean.
Each of the 4 blocks had 2 handbasins, 2 toilets and 2 showers and there was never a queue.
There is a quiet bar on-site, which we didn't use and a chip van comes round every friday evening.
Papers and milk can be ordered for each day of your stay.
The price is good at £15 per night.
It is situated 2 miles from Sandringham and approx. 12 miles from the norfolk coast.
Gatton Waters is a lovely, quiet site and we won't hesitate to go back there soon.
The only real downside is the lack of elsan emptying points and grey water.

This is the friendliest site we have ever visited! There was always somebody stopping to speak, and to give advise on fishing etc. We were made to feel so welcome, by the owners and residents alike. The views were lovely, lots of bird life, ducks geese etc(so some noise and mess from them),the toilet blocks are basic but ok. We didn't visit the pub on site as we had dogs in tow, but were disappointed to learn that food was no longer served, but there are plenty of places around to eat! They were busy and we felt a little cramped (i like room to sit out side, and like my dogs to be secure, so couldn't have awning up,or else wouldn't have had room for chairs etc) But overall this site was just what the doctor ordered, if you want to relax with absolute peace and quite then this is the place, and my husband loved the fishing!

After reading reviews we decided to try this site for ourselves, I must say I was slightly disappointed, firstly restaurant is now closed, apparently due to lack of business, the toilet blocks although extremely clean could do with updating and possibly made larger, as I did have to wait most mornings for a shower. On the plus side my husband and son who are keen fishermen thought the lake was brilliant for fishing and caught some really good fish, they would definitely return again I am not so sure.
