We recently visited this site and were very impressed with it. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Our pitch was in a nice location with a lovely view of the lake which the campsite is built around. The site was nice and quiet and it made a change not to get woken up by screaming kids at 7 in the morning.
The on-site bar is very welcoming and the regular visitors were all very friendly. The campsite is well located and there is a shop in the village a couple of miles away which sells most of the basic items that you would ever need. We spent most of our time visiting the coast which is only 20 minutes away and walking the dog around the surrounding area.
The toilets were always very clean but if I had one small criticism of the camp it would be that the toilets are a like basic and the water was sometimes to hot in the showers.
Overall we enjoyed our visit to Gatton waters and would highly recommend it.

This was our 2nd visit to Gatton Waters after we were very impressed by our 1st visit in June. The site is fantastic, the seasonal residents are very friendly and everyone is made welcome. Mr Donaldson and his family and staff are great people
The fishing, I found it very good and the local and regular anglers very willing to help you with tackle / tips etc.
Pitches in good position with views over the lake, good shower & toilet facilities, nice cosy bar with very good food, when available.
If you want a quiet holiday in a beautiful location this is the place to come.

Just returned from the first most enjoyable visit to this site. Exactly what we were looking for, (quiet). If you want noise do not visit this site. The toilet blocks if small for the size of site were very clean as was the site itself, the pub on site was excellent, the food also (please make sure you check opening times when you arrive). We will definitely be back.

We have just spent 4 nights here. We felt really relaxed and rested upon leaving. On arrival we had just had 2 full days of non stop rain, we did in fact think of cancelling, but persevered. On arrival we were taken to a dry, well drained pitch even though It was still raining. Site facilities are basic, 3 to 4 small blocks with 2 showers and toilets in each, never had to wait to use facilities and they were always clean. Main focal point is the lake, in the middle, with lots of different ducks with their young constantly waddling around. Some good sunsets, when the sun shone. Out and about there are loads to do, from Sandringham House and Country Park to Hunstanton and Holmes Next the Sea, some real contrasts. We liked it and at £13 a night with hook up full awning and a dog, a real bargain. We will definitely be back.

We visited this site on the last weekend they were open in 2005. From discussions with the site owner he has 60 seasonals and 30 available tourer pitches. (I believe he may be extending in 2006 so possibly more available??) Unfortunately a lot of the seasonal campers had packed up the previous weekend so the campsite was quieter than would be the norm.
There is plenty of room around the site for peaceful camping and an excellent lake is the main focul point of the site. There are plenty of large fish in the lake if the pictures in the restaurant/bar are anything to go by. Toilets are adequate with 3 different blocks around the site. Each has 2 toilets and 2 showers. Basic but OK... The restaurant was reasonably priced and all meals are home cooked on the premises.
There was good "banter" between the owner (James) and the "seasonals" who were in the restaurant on the Friday we were there, and we felt like "regulars" even though this was our first trip. This is a quiet site and if you're a fisherman you will be happy. Sandringham is just up the road and the North Norfolk Coast is well worth a drive along to see the different seaside towns...
Our only real criticism would be the lack of lighting around the site at night time. One really does need a torch if staying at the restaurant/bar after dark... We will be returning for a couple of weekends at least in 2006...
