We enjoyed our stay here. Great position, clean facilities, helpful warden, good walks & easy access into town. My only little gripe would be the lack of street lights on the road leading up to the racecourse. We walked into town one night (had a great pint of Wherry in the Bull!) & found it a bit 'spooky' even with a good torch. Nice little dog walk on site & lots of places off-site to walk doggy. We loved having the openness of the racecourse as our 'backdrop'. The new medical centre by Morrisons is very good (I had to have some stitches removed there). Yes, we'd probably come back here if we were in the area again.

I’ve camped here five times I think. It’s clean, spacious, you can get away from caravans (I have a tent), you might see a weasel, you’ll definitely see a rabbit and it’s a good price.
You do need a car, but that’s Norfolk really. The campsite is a drive to the beach, but you can walk into Fakenham itself and get a few bits or have a coffee. There are a few things available on site like milk, in the reception.
There’s also a supermarket on the way out to all routes. There are many other things to do all around the area, but we love going to Holkham and it’s the right bit of Norfolk for that.
This campsite, being a racecourse in autumn & winter has a lot of showers and toilets, all of which are clean and warm, even at night. The water’s hot too.
There’s a bar on site which we’ve never used. Once a lady at a party came in to the toilet through the bar door a bit giggly and I was all crumpled in old camping clothes, brushing my teeth. That was quite funny.
As the site has 3 sections, it’s always quiet even when busy, and there’s plenty of room. We have camped at the back which feels completely separate and also on the overspill, which has a birdy surprise at dusk!
Ring ahead just on the off-chance it’s the Hell’s Angels weekend!

Stayed here for 5 days. Lovely pitch site midway between the Grandstands. Huge amount of space but spoilt by the constant coming and going of traffic over the gravel roads.
Older toilet blocks and showers just acceptable.
No reception of tele but pitch plug-in available, cables available to rent.
Have to move out on race days though.
Approach road non maintained and narrow so watch out for the potholes and broken road surfaces. Need to do a slow deliberate swerving drive if caravan and car with crockery are valued, approx 1/4 mile.
Handy for town and pubs, 10 min walk but nothing in town worth the walk in the evening.
Site handy for coast etc but costly.

This is a site that's different, we have used it four times and enjoyed all our visits. We stayed over new year and could have bought tickets for a bash in the Prince of Wales Stand but chose to hit the town instead, we had a good night. On another visit there was a race meeting, yes it is a bind having to move but we had a nice day at the races for free (we even made a profit on the betting) and there is a golf club on site. If you like something out of the ordinary this site is worth a visit.

Great site.
We are not usually fans of large sites, but this one was excellent. We managed to book at the last minute for a weekend with no problem. As a race course it seems that there is always space when there is no race meeting so its always worth remembering.
When we arrived the staff were very helpful and we found a good pitch easily.
The facilities were well maintained well supplied and clean.
With excellent access to the coast its a great site for a few nights

Highly recommended.
Stayed over the Easter weekend, Fri -Wed.
The site is part of Fakenham Racecourse and sports club (golf, archery, tennis, squash)
The pitches are spacious, and spread all around the racecourse. The facilities are spread all around the site. The facilities nearest us (Prince Charles Grandstand) were modern and clean.
There is a Sports club house on site which does good value bar meals (home made) and alcoholic beverages :)
On Easter Monday there was a race meeting - we had to move from our pitch to the golf course. We had to be there by 9:30 am, and went back at 6:30 pm (one hour after the last race) Although the move was 'hassle', we were compensated by free entry to the meeting, and we had a fantastic day - 7 races with no winners . LOL
North Norflok is a pretty good place to visit, with the site itself only a mile or so from the town centre - the footpath to town is a pleasant river side walk, which took 15/20 mins with 3 kids including a buggy in tow.
My only gripe is that it could be enhanced by a small kids play area. I shall return !

We stayed here over the August bank holiday for 3 nights. The flat ground was excellent for pitching a tent and the facilities were clean. The site becomes fairly quiet later on in the evening. There is a small shop on site.
It does feel a little odd waking up next to a race course spectator stand, but if you don't mind that then this is a convenient place to stay for access to the Norfolk coast and surrounding towns/villages.

Stopped for one night, very last minute visit, arrived at 9pm after friends had paid for our pitch earlier in the day, set up in dark (Car headlights) facilities ok (Clean which is important) the only complaint we had is the gravel track in the field is fill of flint both myself, my wife and the child of our friends ended up dipping into the first aid box. But still we had an excellent time. Weekend or overnight is good, but would not go for a week

Actually a great little site with very little marketing - we wanted somewhere to stay for the bank holiday weekend at late notice and this was the only place I found with any space. Could not find any pics or details so were pleasantly surprised to find a very well kept site with new facilities. The toilet and shower block was immaculate, and everything was very well set up. Nice and quirky camping overlooking a race course, and you can walk to the town within 10 mins for a drink should you wish to.

Our trip this time was combined with a day at the races. The camp site is actually arranged around various areas of the race course, so we had to move onto the centre of the course by 9am on race day and returned to our pitch at about 7pm. This was to make way for the people who went home with our money. The area allocated for parking-up was good and we were kept well informed by the wardens. Entrance to the races was included in the pitch fee as we stayed 2 nights. Pitches are good; ours was perfectly level and spacious. The shower blocks are in good condition and clean. But you need to make allowances immediately after race day - 11,000 people can make a lot of mess with discarded betting clips. Staff do their best to clear the pitches but they balance the need to get cleaned up with the equally pressing need of getting us all back on to our pitches. The club house attached to the course does good food and ale and seems to be open all year round, as is the site. All in all, we had a great stay and have no hesitation in recommending the site.
