May 2005 I used to go here a lot as a kid when my parents and I would go on holiday in the caravan so I thought we'd have a go see what its like under canvas! Stayed here bank holiday weekend in late May; we really liked it. Mixture of tents and caravans but as is CC affilliated, more vans than tents. Even though the site was officially 'full' it did not seem crowded at all; they don't seem to cram you in like commercial sites. We had absolutely bags of room. Several different areas, broken up with big hedges and lots of trees. Good facilities - counted 8 ladies showers in various locations, all of which were spotless and free! Helpful and friendly reception staff as well.
Great location with lots to see and do nearby. Would recommend Pensthorpe wildfowl park - excellent way to spend the afternoon or indeed the whole day, we didn't have long enough there.
Seemed a bit pricey at £7 pppn, but thats all you're charged. No fee for the pitch then plus add-ons; simply £7 pppn all in for everything.
We'll definitely go back.

May 2004 Our first ever camping trip as a family, mum, dad, and three kids, we went to Fakenham for two nights. We weren't sure what to expect having never been camping before but found the staff very friendly on arrival. A mix up over camping fees was sorted out immediately it was discovered with much apologising.
The site was full of those strange trailer/caravan type things as they were having a rally so all of the electric points were gone and the tents were tucked away in a field off the main site. My only complaint was that the grass was very long and had just been cut so we walked tonnes of the stuff into the tent and car when it was damp. Not sure whether that's bad tentcraft on our part or not though!
Facilities were very clean, very nice and the bar was very pleasant and good cheap prices.
All in all it was a great trip for us, we spent most of the time exploring north Norfolk's beaches and narrow guage railway things.

May/June. 2004 The toilet and shower facilities were very good with clean large cubicles and constant hot water. The camping pitches we had were right in front of the main grandstand on a large grassy lawn. There were other camping fields alongside the actual race track and behind the stables (no horses present when we visited!). The view across the racecourse was splendid, and in the town there were many pubs, restaurants, chinese and indian takeaways etc. A lovely area to visit.
