We tried to book two nights at the CL but were told it was full but we were offered a hardstanding in an adjacent field which we accepted. The site was easy enough to find and we were surprised to see four areas, one of which was the CL, with caravans/motorhomes some of which looked as if they were long stays. We were directed to the field beside the CL and opposite the farmhouse. The entrance was a bit steep but we got in OK. The 'hardstanding' turned out to be a large car park at the bottom of a field which not only sloped N/S but E/W so we could not get level and did not want to use the planks of wood, complete with nails, which were available and would be OK for caravans. There was one motorhome and one caravan that appeared to be occupied and two other caravans and a boat that appeared to have been there for some time. There were several EHUs and water taps. We could not get a TV signal although next to the CL which is stated to have good TV reception! We were adjacent to the road with a bit of traffic noise There was a toilet and shower across the road adjacent to the farmhouse which we did not use as it did not look inviting. I did use the chemical disposal which was the worst and dirtiest I have ever used.
We were tired and decided to stay the night, which was not a very pleasant experience, and left a day early. We paid £16. 00 for the one night.

Very easy to find and easy access to Largs. Warm welcome on arrival. Toilet area adequate, cannot comment on the shower as we always use the caravan shower.
Access into site could be smoother so just take your time, road is quiet so it's not a problem
It's all hard standing, which is not our preference as would always opt for grass pitch. I do understand though it's probably better for motorhomes. However I do think it would benefit from a tarmac path at some point leading to the water and recycling
Good value for money and very peaceful site despite being near a road( which is not busy)
Would recommend pitch 4.

Series of sloping fields in a very peaceful setting with pleasant views close to the Ayrshire coast. Largs and Wemyys Bay are recommended especially the Italian Ice cream parlour in the former.
Owner was welcoming and helpful. Stayed in wet weather and field quickly got quite muddy. Toilet showers and washing up in portacabin affair which was in poor condition

This is a message for Tom and Mary. We came to stay at your site in August for a weekend break with our children. We would just like to say that the campsite was fantastic with stunning views. The campsite was sufficiently adequate with the toilet and shower facilities a lot more than you would have if you were out camping in the fields. It was an absolute blessing to be allowed a campfire as along as it was safe as this kept the midges away at night. We will definagtely be returning again and would recommend to other poeple for the sites and hospitality of Tom and Mary. On leaving we were given a card from Tom which detailed activities available and would recommend phoning before a visit to check information about these.

What a wonderful site. 4 separate fields although one is reserved for caravan club members. We were very fortunate to be able to pitch on the bottom field which is quite level.
The only quibble we had was the toilet block is quite dated but everything works.
Tom has installed sky dishes on the pitches and gives you a loan of a sky box. All you need to take is your viewing card and you have your own sky channels.
Largs is only a few minutes drive away. There's a morrisons supermarket tucked away behind the station, usual seaside town but without masses of amusements. McCabes pub at the side of the station does decent food and kids eat for a quid.
We'll definitely be back here. Glorious working farm site with loads of horses. Excellent views and Tom and Mary are the best hosts I've ever met.
Don't go here. I want it all to myself lol

Wonderful place location beautiful set on a rural working farm not too far from the sea, Tom the owner is a really helpful fella.
We booked for a week but left early as the weather got the better of us. If you have a satellite receiver just bring it along as tom has dishes and coax points at every pitch.
Toilets or should I say toilet is immaculate the shower is adequate.
My only criticism is that they really do need more than one shower and one toilet for the 3 camping fields they have. Would definitely go back
Its a good old fashioned site with its own character and charm

Spent 3 nights whilst visiting relative in Largs, situation was perfect as were facilities provided. We were offerd use of digi box if we required tv. On the third night whilst being driven back to site by relative we hit a flood and ended up stranded with swamped car. Phoned Tom to let him know we could not get back to our motorhome due to the weather etc and some 20 minutes later a knight in shining armour appeared through the torrential rain with his tractor and pulled the mother in laws car and us out of the flood area, back to safety at the farm, and we could spend the night in the warmth and comfort of our motorhome. This was totally above and beyond the call of duty. Tom you are a hero and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will return without a doubt.

Site owner very friendly and accommodating. We were only going to stay one night but finished up staying two. It rained heavily on second night and I was a bit concerned about getting out of the field as its a fairly steep hill through the gate, but there was no problem as some grips have been laid. Reasonable fees for facilities. Satellite connection available - just plug into your sky box. Largs is close by but if you have a large motorhome parking could be a problem as the car parks don't allow them. Only downside was the midges. Would recommend.

Spent two nights here as we are venturing further North on a gradual basis.
We stayed in the Caravan Club part, there are 2 other camping areas that had tents and caravans/motorhomes.
Nice scenery, excellent dog walk down a private road.
The shower needs to be left for a minute or two to regulate, then it is great but if you get in before it switches from very hot to very cold.
Apparently the site owner lends or rents digiboxes - we found out on our last night, so no reception on our freeview which I found great but hubby was not too pleased.
Largs is a great seaside town, has all of the amenities but is not over commercialised, there are restaurants and pubs and only a couple of amusement arcades, nice seafront walk which is dog friendly.
I would recommend this site for people wanting to get away from it all and take in good sites and a relaxing resort, really enjoyed it and will definitely return.

Just spent 5 lovely days on this quiet site set in the glen about 2 miles from the seafront at Largs.
The owner said that the hard standings were level but they are not, they don't slope too much but it does make levelling your van difficult without levellers. Now, having said that, this was the only disappointment.
The owner, Tom, was the friendliest man you could wish to meet, nothing was a hassle to him and he would go out of his way to help you.
There is only 1 toilet and 1 shower (50p token from farmhouse) but it wasn't a problem. There is ample hot running water for washing up and for washing clothes. Ablutions area kept spotlessly clean.
With a caravan you have the advantage of being able to drive into Largs for meals or whatever but with a motorhome it is a bit of a bind packing everything away so didn't do that very often.
It won't suit everybody but I would recommend it.
Take your freesat box with you as the owner has recently fitted sky dishes. Fantastic !
All this for £12.50 a night inc hook up.
