Second time we have visited site the owners Tom and Mary very friendly facilities are very good and kept clean. It is a perfect site for any one wishing to visit the surrounding areas of Ayrshire.
The the town centre of Largs is a 2-3mile drive or walk from the site with all the amenities required ideal for a quiet peaceful break will certainly be returning.

Our second visit to this site, which is only a short drive of approx 25 miles from our home. A great wee site, that I am so glad we stumbled across, as it so good. If you are looking for peace and quiet - then this is the place. Set just a couple of miles from Largs, it is a totally relaxed place to be. Even though you are next to the road and guest house, you won't be disturbed and this is also a working farm.
I can recommend to everyone, wishing to get away from it all. They have even installed communal TV points as the surrounding hills really play havoc with the signal.
The shower facilities, although spartan are perfectly adequate - If someone wants to go with you, but doesn't particularly like caravans, then try and book them into the guesthouse on the site - It is beautiful. Go and enjoy!

Found this site be an excellent place. The hosts are very nice and extremely helpful. The views are stunning and we found the walks in the area to be excellent. The toilet and shower block is immaculate. We will definitely be back(Allowing that bookings are available).Electric hook up and TV Ariel connection available, and a connection has just been completed for sky digibox. Midges were not too prevalent but a good repellant works wonders, and for in the caravan a citrus candle is extremely effective, although it is a working farm is does not interfere with the peaceful location. Plenty of people walking horses who were extremely pleasant and chatty. Finally the site is only a 5 Minute drive from Largs and on a nice day a pleasant walk. There are some stunning views to be seen by travelling through the Glen towards Greenock. I think that the photos of the site do not do it justice. And would urge anyone thinking of visiting the site,if possible visit it first I can assure you, you will be pleasantly surprised and met with a warm welcome.

This quiet campsite is set on a slope a few miles up the hills from Largs. When we visited we were the only campers, the setting was lovely for a quiet stay. We paid £12.50 for our one night stop ( a couple and two man tent), later in the day we found out we also needed tokens for the showers. We may have been unlucky, but we never managed to obtain any tokens as there was never any reply when we tried on a number of occasions to find anyone at reception.
In any event we never managed to stay the night due to the excessively large amount of midges that not only swarmed round us by the tent and car but that managed to infiltrated the tent. It wasn't enjoyable as it was a constant mental war with the midges. Maybe this year's midge population is larger than usual but at 9pm we upped tent whilst under swarm attack from the midges and drove overnight with swollen arms and faces back South.
Don't get me wrong it's a lovely quiet site with adequate facilities for campers but go out of midgey season.

Just back from a weeks holiday on this site, very well kept site, clean, tidy, peaceful and views and scenery to die for. Toilet and shower facilities more than ok and the shower pressure and heat amongst the best I have used. The owner 'Tom' is one of the nicest, friendliest most helpful guys I've ever met. Nothing too much trouble, it just helps to make your holiday memories and it certainly makes you want to go back,
We had days on Arran, Cumbrae and Bute ,although it cost almost £200.00 in ferry charges it was well worth it. Good dog walk, or nature ramble down the side of the burn next to the site, it's worth a drive along the road past the site into the moors which brings you out at Inverkip.
Loads of seaside things to do in Larg, I recommend a drive to Ayr for a shopping day or as we did Glasgow, its not too far and good travelling.

Spent a nice 2 night break here. We walked to Largs (a 45 min walk at a nice slow pace) were we took our daughter bowling and caught the ferry to Millport. The site is lovely if you like a quite night and the views are great with pony's and horses in the fields. The only down point was the site only has one toilet and the one shower needs to be upgraded. I was lucky as my husband went first and it was very hot, then very cold, so with kids you need to be careful. Will use again for a short break thanks.

Basic site with small pitches. Clean shower block and wash area. 2 miles out of Largs and it's amenities. Good for a night if travelling through would not stop if had kids, small site if weather bad not alot for them to do! Cheap enough at £10 for 2 adults and dog with hook-up.
Friendly people would stop again if passing through.

This site is a little gem if you want to relax. It has all facilities you want and if weather is set fair then spend a couple of days here. I use a 7.24m motorhome if your unit is bigger you may find entry to field tight. Tom and mary are great hosts they have even put booster tv points in.

Nice quiet little site next to a working farm 2 1/4 miles up a mostly single track road from Largs. One small field set aside for 5 caravan club members. Another 2 small fields for other caravans. The loos are a short walk over the road and through the car park of the B & B. Nice and clean, hot adjustable showers. £10.00 per night with EHU, very good value. Would come again.

Very peaceful campsite. My nine year old daughter and I spent 2 nights here (Friday/Saturday) and thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The facilities are basically one toilet and one shower but this wasn't a problem at all, because by the Saturday we were the only tent on the site. There were a few tourers on the adjoining field and also the area which was next to the farm, but we never had to hang around much for the facilities. The pitch itself was on a bit of a slope but if you camp up the top of the hill it does flatten out a little. I recommend taking a walk along the road heading East (away from Largs) the countryside is sublime, and there is a real sense of quietness and escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Largs itself, only a couple of miles down the road, has just about everything you would want, swimming pool (Vikingar) promenade, amusements, fairground (basic), shops, there is a Morrisons supermarket which is very good, and I would highly recommend the green shutters restaurant, run by the famous Nardinis, for a fabulous fish tea very resonably priced. But the place to go has to be Kelburn country estate just outside Largs towards Fairlie. This is the most enchanting glen, castle, secret forest, adventure playground you are ever likely to visit, don't go to Largs without spending a day here, it's amazing! The campsite itself as I say is excellent, no frills just peace and quiet and beautiful countryside, and by the way, the burn at the top of the hill where we pitched provides the perfect lullaby for a good nights kip!
