My girlfriend and I stayed on the site with our 3 kids and another family of 4. We managed to get booked the day before which was good, as it was Easter weekend and everywhere was very busy.
The site was in a very good location with a good park and a football pitch on the next field to the site. The landlord and landlady where very family friendly and the kids had a fantastic time. We ended up in the Rose and Crown for karaoke night and had a very good night, drinks prices were quite cheap. There are no showers on site but men have 24hr toilet facilities and a washbasin, womens toilets are in the pub so only available during opening times. To sum up this was a very clean site, catering for family's with a very friendly atmosphere we will definitely be visiting again.

Stopped for a few nights on this site. The pub was taken over in Oct08 and the new tenants are child and dog friendly.
We arrived on site on Friday morning with 6 inches of snow on the ground and knew there was no way we could pitch. John (the tenant) came out and arranged for his father to tow the van onto the pitch with his land rover. Within a hour the caravan was on the site and hooked up.
The facilities are basic, Electric, water and waste disposal points. The Gents toilets is left open all night should you need it. Unfortunately the ladies is within the pub (however the pub stays open late with no restrictions on the little ones). The site fees are cheap. The attitude of the owners being that if you cover the cost of the electric and buy a few drinks in the pub they're happy. Would suggest you have a meal in the pub as the Sunday lunch was excellent (£6 each) and they're quite happy to cook.Just ask whats available as not always advertised.
In short an excellent basic site with friendly owners and can't wait to go back in summer. Would suggest you book up soon as it will be busy once people get to know about it.

Stayed for 2 nights mid-week. Just as previously described, field behind pub with EHU., Water and Waste Disposal. No shower and gents toilet accessible at all times.
Very quiet. Ideally located for access to footpaths. No shops in Village but Middleton in Teesdale is only 2 miles away. Bus stops outside site entrance if you don't want to walk or drive. Excellent value for money considering how much the site fee was.
Will definitely visit again as this is the type of site that we prefer - not commercialised, no noisy pub / club house.

We stayed here for three nights. The field is directly behind the rose and crown. It had seperate hook-ups, water and waste. There is a toilet which is left unlocked which is the mens. Dog friendly. SUPERB SUNDAY CARVERY £4.95. Pint of fosters £2.40. They have decorated throughout and focus more on food. The new owners of a matter of months are very friendly and most helpful. It cost £7.00 per night (inc elec) if you are a member of caravan and camping club. Lovely village one more pub. No shops, nearest being middleton 2 miles away. Lovely walks and views. We will most certainly be visiting again.

Very nice setting, small, well kept field out the back of the pub with basic facilities.
I did an overniter here and it was ideally placed for canoeing the river Tees. Would have stayed longer if I thought I could have got away with it.
Middleton very close by has most things you'll need.
