Nice small site convenient for border stopover. Friendly welcome.
Unfortunately as previous review the site was boggy underfoot which spoilt it for us. The owner initially offered us a hardstanding pitch but this was only wide enough for the wheels to sit off of the grass. We then put the MH on the track to the back field as access was not required which was a bit wider but we still had to use a palett to step out on to.
Another couple stopping in a caravan commented that they had also struggled with the sodden ground. This must be a lovely site when the ground is drier and drained but even the fields around the site were sodden which meant road walks for the dogs.
Facilities are basic, clean. Lots of local info including woodland trails in nearby Netherby Estate.
Longtown is short drive with Spar shop and cash point.

A good site for a stopover, or to tour from in your car. Basic but clean, owners friendly.
Very marshy land, our dogs forever muddy and wet, although it did rain hard, I suspect it will always be wet in the main field!
The field for children had goalposts, a ball and room to run around, also a firepit.
The area walks were hard, we found many obstacles. Gates locked, overgrown, impassable, barbed wire under a style that led to the river, we couldn't risk lifting our big dog over so didn't get the view after a long walk!
The derelict track was overgrown and full of water so we had to turn back.
It's a very quiet area. Not good for us with no transport once we parked up, but we would stopover on our way to Scotland!

We stayed here for six nights which included the Easter weekend. It is a lovely peaceful little site and the owners are really nice and friendly. The weather was fantastic the whole time we were there and we just relaxed in the sun. There is one toilet and shower. Nothing fancy but kept very clean. There are 5 electric hookups. We don't take any kids with us but it would be a nice site for younger children as there were sheep and lambs (3 were born when we were there) and a little playpark.
It is just a few miles to Longtown which has a really good Spar with everything that you would need. The Bridge Inn at Penton is a couple of miles along the road. We had a meal there and it was lovely - kangaroo steaks! We visited Hermitage Castle which is over the border in Scotland and it is well worth a visit. Quite spooky and atmospheric!
It would also be very handy for visiting the north lakes as it is no distance to the M6. All in all, a really nice little 5 van site, if you are looking for peace and quiet in the countryside.

Now everybody you must visit this site. We stayed 2 nights and had a great time. My grandson loved the place and wants to me to buy it (lottery first)
We would recommend this site to everyone who has caravan, tent, folding camper, motorhome etc. To visit
Toilets first class, shower as well. We shall be back many times.
Its very handy for Gretna, Scotland, north of England and Lakes with many places to visit

We stayed at this site for 5 days in august and ended up asking to stay longer.
Very friendly people and the site is lovely and quiet. Lovely location and views. Areas for the children to play including football and goals.
The pitches are a good size, not cramped up to the next caravan so it feels very private. Just the right location for visiting Scotland and the Lake District. We went down to Windermere and up to Glasgow. Gretna is worth a visit.
Adults and kids loved it.
Very good value for money. We will be returning next year.

This is a little gem of a site.
We booked with no real issues and were told to arrive whenever we liked, when we did turn up two tents had arrived a day early and so our options were limited but we were told we could choose anything we liked and hook up was no problem. Once settled I paid a whopping £12! for the night including hookup.
The site had apparently never been busier (8 tents a 2 canpervans) but even though only one shower with loo in the same room we never had to wait. The girls both 10 went egg collecting with the owners children which was great, and the fire at the 'social circle' was fantastic.
To sum up, a very basic but fully functional little site ran by very nice people.

Such a fantastic place, there was only us and another unit on site but felt so safe and secure. My 3 year old son had the time of his life playing with the kids on the farm and the freedom to run around. Thanks to Emma for letting him help round the sheep in, he wants to be a farmer now!
The toilets are clean and perfectly adequate for what you need, the owners are so helpful too. Would Definitely be going back for another visit.

We arrived at the site early afternoon, the entrance had a full length gate (which was lovely for safety reasons if you have children). It was rather tight for our unit but taking our time we got in ok, a smaller van would have no bother. At first glance on entering the site it was very roomy and so very quiet.Very friendly people and so were the owners.
There was a clean shower and toilet and they also had recycling bins so that you could separate your rubbish. Longtown was the little village not far from the site with a spar, bakers, cafes and a chip shop.Further afield there was Carisle here you can have a whole day of shopping as there are so many shops.
On leaving the site our neighbours helped stop traffic for safety reasons as we had the bigger van.Overall we would return again if in that area and am sure others would love this site too.

We only stayed one night.
But, couldn't fault the site, or owners!
Toilet & Shower spotless. [Not keen on choice of music though, Emma!]
Ideal for a stop-over to re-charge batteries.
Very peaceful surroundings.
Would need transport to go into nearest village or 'local'
Beautiful views of countryside.
Would definitely call again if in the area!
