A lovely site. A pity about the weather, cold and wet. The site is primarily seasonal pitches with a few statics. We were there over a bank holiday weekend and it was pretty full but quiet.
The shower and toilet block was very clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. No wifi. No shops in the vicinity, nearest supermarket is in Catterick Garrison where there is a Tesco with fuel and an Aldi across the road.
Went into Richmond, visited the castle and had lunch. Beware of the parking, the only place big enough to take a medium sized motorhome and above is the Nuns Close car park, near the cricket ground, where you have to pay two charges if your vehicle overlaps the parking space.
Our m/h is 6. 5m so took two spaces which was £7. 00 for 3 hours. There is a Samuel Smiths pub in Tunstall, the Bay Horse, about 20 minutes walk. The landlady was very welcoming, she is a settled caravanner herself. The bitter is £2 a pint and the locals were very friendly.

Warm welcome from Andrew the site owner who showed us to our pitch. Also saw him each morning around 6. 30 when he was cleaning out the toilet/shower block and we were walking our dog!
Small touring area but plenty of space for each pitch opposite the children's play area.
Lots of local info and book swap in washing up area where there are two washing up sinks but you will need 20p for the metered hot water.
Spotlessly clean toilet and shower area that even have hand towels by the sinks.
We discovered a flat caravan tyre on the day of leaving and were grateful to A1 Garage about half a mile from the site who came out, took away our tyre, fixed it and came back to fit it - all within the hour and only charged us £30!
Mainly a site for seasonal pitches which are all immaculately kept by their respective owners, with a special mention to a friendly lady called Joyce who made us feel very welcome, invited us in for a cuppa and could easily work as a PR rep for the campsite!
Pub in the village about a 20 minute walk away - is dog friendly, serves good beers and has welcoming locals with other pubs in Catterick Village about a 10 minute drive away.

Highfield Farm is a lovely site very well presented, Andy and his team (family) could not do enough to help with any question. The location is ideal to visit the local towns of Richmond, well worth a visit.
Catterick village has shops, multi cinema complex, shops, bars/ food outlets
If you like home made cakes, scones you have to put in an order at reception, freshly baked delivered to your pitch, how good is that.
We will definitely be going again

Our first outing in our newly purchased Campervan ans we chose Highfield Farm as the site is only 30 minutes from where we live. Could not have picked a better site, it is immaculate. The whole site is clean, tidy and picturesque. Shower blocks are beautifully cleaned with lots of hot water and hand soaps etc. Andrew and Louise were so helpful as we were quite nervous in setting up but advice was offered. Our dog loved it and, although it is close to home we will be back for a relaxing time. Many thanks to the hosts!

Well after a 7 hr drive and a detour because of road works arrived at site was suprised how nice it was. The owner showed us to the pitch and had a little chat about where the stuff was. The toilets were clean. The site was very clean.
If you come from south take the cattrick bridge turn off, not the web site instructions other wise you have to take the hornby single track rd.

We just had 5 nights. Our first time. Stop over on this site. Lovely site. Well kept. I don't fish. But the fishing pond was popular and a nice feature. Toilets and showers. Very clean and well maintained. You may buy Homemade cakes from the reception if pre ordered. They looked great. And you can get free range eggs £2 a doz. Good power hookups. Ie. You can boil a kettle and Not worry about it. Hate it when they have low amp fuses. Good touring pitches. Well spaced pitches. Well kept grass areas. Nice little play area for children. And good camp rule guide. Not strict. But sensible. Good views. And nicely laid out. And quite private. Very friendly helpful owners. There if you want them. But not in your face. Other site user's all seemed friendly. And lots of the residents have lovely little gardens. Around their vans. And lights that look really pretty at night. All in all a great site we will certainly be back. If possible. Handy to lots of shop's etc. Within a couple of miles. And Richmond is about 5 miles away. Lots of entertainment. And shops there will get you to all you need. And not forgetting Tunstall. A must is the village pub. The bay horse. Open in the evening. Fantastic beers from Around £2. A great landlord Ian. And friendly locals. And within walking distance of site. Ongoing road works on a1 no problem. And. The road to the site from cattrick village is fairly easy. So I can only recommend this site. We have camped for over 40 years. So know a good site. I only hope we can get back on after this review 😉 give it a try you won't regret it. Rob.

We stayed for four months visiting mainly at weekends. The site is very quiet and peaceful and is primarily for seasonal users although tourers are also well catered for. It is spread over three separate areas and has two separate toilet/shower blocks. The site itself surrounds the owner's home.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and the site is very well kept. Dog owners are catered for with a very well kept on-site dog-walking area and a few pleasant nearby walks.
The location is very handy for visits to Richmond (5 miles) and Leyburn (9 miles), and gives very easy access to Wensleydale and other very pleasant areas of North Yorkshire.
The site is easily accessed from the A1 road at Catterick which is a couple of miles away. It is far enough away not to be affected by traffic noise.
A great site overall, well worth a visit.

Just returned from this lovely site having stayed for a week with our friends from hull. The site was easy to find not far from the A1. We were met on arrival by the owner and shown to our pitch. There are 7 pitches for touring caravans, the rest are seasonal, these are in separate fields, the touring pitches are facing the play area but this didn't bother us even though we had no children. The fishing pond was small but ok my husband and his friend enjoyed it, they caught a few carp and roach. The toilet and showers were cleaned spotless every morning by the owners husband, we never had to queue for the toilets or showers saying that the site was full. You have got to try there home made cakes, they are scrummy. Tesco supermarket a short drive away near catterick garrison. A small pub in the village just over a mile away. Some lovely places to visit near by. Will definitely go back.

When we visited, the site was very quiet this I think was more due to luck than anything else, however I would not want to be on the site at weekends or during school holidays.
We arrived on a Sunday, and was shown to a pitch that resembled a car park, opposite the play area, this is where the seven touring pitches are placed, hence my earlier comment.
Having said all of the above, we did enjoy our 3 night stay.
The fishing is described as a pond and that is what it is albeit a nice one, at a guess you could get about 8/9 people fishing at any one time.
The facilities block was basic and dated but very clean.
The local pub is a Samuel smith pub about 3/4 of a mile away called the bay horse, it was a country style pub and had just started to serve food, with a pint costing £1. 80, part of the walk to the pub is very steep and on a main road, as we both use walking sticks and were not aware of this until it was to late we did suffer for the rest of our time at the site.
The site was also being expanded with a large number of pitches being made.
We would not go back to this site.
