The site is nicely kept with very clean facilities and plenty of water points. Most of the pitches are for seasonal use but the small touring area was quiet and sheltered. Fishing lake is well stocked and easy to access.
The site is in a very good location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales, towns of Leyburn and Bedale are within easy reach and it is also possible to visit the North York Moors and Teesdale. There is a large supermarket within 3 miles at Catterick Garrison if you need to shop in earnest.

This is an unusual site, but in a very good way. It is dominated by seasonal pitches, (there are only 7 touring pitches) and that means that the site is full of people who care about the site much more so than on most other campsites.
Perhaps as a result the facilities were totally pristine and they were the most homely of any we have seen on any campsite.
The site itself is near the top of a hill so it has fabulous views but it can be a bit windy. The owners are very friendly and we were very lucky to get in at short notice.

Went to visit Highfield Farm upon recommendation from a friend who stayed there last year. We have toured for many years and seen many different campsites throughout Britain.
We were impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the site and facilities. The owners were fantastic. I e-mailed them to ask questions about the site and helpful wasn't in it! Fantastic couple who were so helpful. We visited Highfield Farm for viewing. Excellent.
We were so impressed we have got our names down for a seasonal pitch next year and look forward to spending many years there.

Stayed at this site for a couple of nights, , had two vans as son and family came with us. The owners were spot on, very friendly, shower block was ok very clean and the grounds were very nice, , little park for granddaughter to play in, what more can you want?? only tricky bit was finding the site, , your sat nav will take you to a farm opening DO NOT go in there like my son did (silly sausage) but carry on up the hill just past TUNSTALL and it is on the left. Overall the site was very good, , very quiet, , nice pub down the road in Tunstall, , easy distance from Catterick and Richmond. Thanks

Wow, what a site, mainly seasonal but a nice little separate 7 pitch field for tourers, all pitches have levelled out paving stones to put your wheels on and most gravel under an awning if you have one.
Toilets immaculate really really! with real hand towles!.
Showers are free. Washup room 20p for hot water, in there is a free library of lots of book and jigsaws (if it rains!) and a pay tumble dryer but no washer.
Honesty box for free range eggs and homemade jam (nice).
Local pub no grub :( but Richmond and Catterick village only 2-3 miles. Catterick garrison couple miles away has tesco and many many takeaways of every sort to keep the army (and you) happy.
Nice fairly large fishing pond/lake on site but no local tackle/bait shop, nearest I found was Boroughbridge 15 miles away, £3. 00 for a day ticket paid to owners and plenty of roach in and some crafty carp!
Local steam Wensleydale railway a nice day out.
Sooooo. Peaceful and quiet but not a long way to York etc. Really nice site, will return.

Upon arrival we was shown to our pitch and told where all the amenities were by Andy who was very friendly and helpful,
This site is one of the best we have visited very clean and well looked after and the showers and toilets are spotless.
(Andy the owner never stopped cleaning the site)
There are mostly touring static caravans but they have about 7 or 8 well spaced pitches for touring caravans with a little park across a gravelled road.
There is a walk from the site but tried it twice and got lost both times due to lack of arrows, but the owners have told us they are trying to get an ordnance map.
Richmond is about 5 miles and Leyburn about 7 there is a small pub in Tunstall but if you would like a real ale there are better pubs not too far away
The pond is nice and well set out and you are definite to catch something.
There is no shop on site but never really bothered us too much.
The tv signal is excellent also.
We would definitely return to this site in the future and would recommend to anybody who likes to get away from it all.

First time visit to this site. It is a lovely site (mainly seasonal pitches) only about 7 touring pitches but plenty of space around each unit, very well kept site & toilets immaculate. Has a fishing lake which is great for novices (us)as the fish seem to bite anything !
The village of Tunstall doesn't have any shop but it does have a pub which has resident chickens in the beer garden called, salt, pepper, custard and mustard.
Nearest shop is back in Catterick Village which is about 3-4 miles away.

As previously mentioned mostly used by seasonal caravans but that was not a problem.
Lovely owners who were really friendly and helpful.
Toilet and shower facilities were immaculate. I have never been on a site which provides liquid soap and hand towels in the washrooms.
It was close to lots of lovely places, Leyburn, Bedale and Richmond.
Peaceful and tranquil.

Just returned from a lovely peaceful weekend. There seem to be quite a few caravans on site, but most of these are sited, there are only about 5 or 6 pitches available for tourers.
Each pitch is really spacious and well laid out. There are two toilet blocks which were immaculately clean when we visited, small play area and also a fishing lake, which OH and son caught some really nice fish on.
Owners seemed really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning, just a shame it is not open all year, as it was only an hour from where we lived and was quite handy.
One very small thing, if you are using a Satnav, at the end of your journey when it tells you to turn left do not, you need to continue up the road and site is on the left.
Ours and other peoples satnav tried to take us up the drive of a private house. I think this must happen a lot as there was a small sign at the end of the drive pointing out directions for the site.

A lovely site, very friendly family owned. Toilets are immaculate and showers large and very nice. Might even be the cleanest toilet block I've seen on a campsite, well maintained which is a real positive.
Some toys for the young ones, television reception is great. We tripped the electric straight away though, but sorted out immediately and shown were the box was if we tripped it again and could reset it ourselves, (which I asked for, didn't want to keep bothering the family.)
They helped us pitch and let us stay late leaving day as no one on the pitch after us.
Highly recommend this site, it was our first time away with the caravan and it was made very enjoyable.
Also fishing available, £3 a day, carp and small silvers, although not very deep (2 foot at the most) and access only along two sides.
