Great site run by very friendly family. We arrived to a warm welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble. We had booked a two week pitch with no elec but due to the floods and bad weather asked to move to a hook up pitch and they really tried to help even though almost fully booked with regulars who had specified which pitch. They offered to put us on a hook up pitch for first week and then help us move for the second week, we declined and stuck with the orginal pitch but this was a helpful offer. Weather improved from the day we arrived anyway so all was fine and our pitch waas large with trees and bushes to screen it. We have a large dome tent and pup tent and also need space for 4 bikes and two cars; there was plenty of room. Pitches are level.
Toilets and showers are basic but very clean and plenty of free hot water. Showers only have curtain and doors would be better esp as I have a preteen daughter who has just started to get shy about that type of thing. There is a hair dryer with a pay slot in the shower block.
The park itself is very well maintained with lots of well established and large shrubs giving screening including some beautiful large hydrangers which are spectacular.
The shop is well stocked and not over priced. The bar and restaurant is small and cosy with good food at value prices.
The surrounding area is so full of things to do - we ran out of time! The beaches are beautiful and several are very close to the site. Lands End is a great day out with kids (or with out) as there is so much to see and do. We went three times and the kids would have liked to go again!
There is no playgound on site so no noisy kids next to your tent if you end up with the pitch next to the swings.
The only negative really is the drive which is very narrow and was flooded when we arrived. The site itself is well drained and despite heavy rain for several days before we arrived the mud had dried up by late afternoon on arrival day.
A lovely site that we will be visiting again soon.

Cardinney Caravan Site is a well maintained and very welcoming from the moment you arrive from both the site owners and their family and from fellow campers
The site bar and restaurant serve great ale and great food at very reasonable prices and to be honest your left wondering why you should even bother at all catering for yourself for the price and quality of food served at this site. Toilet facilities are functional and clean with hot showers free of charge and it’s very rare you have to wait for a cubical unlike some other more expensive sites I have had the misfortune on
There is a games room for the kids to enjoy and a bird house at the side of the W.C block that you just can’t drag your kids away from. The site shop is well stocked with groceries and sweets for the kids and if you have forgot to pack any hardware for your tent or caravan they have it all here from the tent peg to waterlines they even do rat poison for the wife or for a small fee make it look like an accident like drowning in the pond full of coyer carp outside reception. If you’re in a caravan or tent you will not go wrong with this site and the pitches are well serviced level and don’t get bogged down in mud when you get a heavy days rain and the pitches have high privets and trees around them to act as wind brakes so no panic in the night wondering if yeah tents going to blow away. So, to sum up if you’re wondering what sites to try out near Lands End you got to try this one first I will guarantee you will not regret it and in fact I have booked three weeks this time in August 2008 and I can’t wait, it’s worth every mile of the long haul from St Helens Liverpool to get to this beautiful quiet and picturesque site.See you all there this summer from Peter.

This has to be one of the most beautiful campsites we have stayed at.
The location is excellent, about 7 miles from Penzance and about 5 miles from Lands End.
The site itself is beautifully maintained, withpitchesinbays of various sizes screened bytrees, hedges andbushes. Clean showers and toilet facilities, small shop and also good laundry facilities. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. There is an enclosed dishwashing area and plenty of fresh water taps around the site.
There is a lovely beach at Porthcurno about a 15 minute drive. Easy access to all areas of Cornwall.
There are plenty of walks around the area.
The whole holiday was completely relaxing. Can't wait to go back next year.

A wonderful campsite with exceptionally helpful and welcoming family staff. Great food with generous portions all served with a smile whatever the time of day, cafe area is clean and well decorated. Amenities are second to non plenty of hot water and showers, they are closed for 1 hr per day for cleaning. Laundry facilities - washing machine only washes using cool wash so the grass stains definitely will not budge!quite expensive per wash but the tumble drier is value for money. The only down sides we could think of were that there isn't any entertainment for younger children eg playground If you have a larger tent your pitch isn't that large so get to know your neighbour well because it can get cozy! The games room needs extending as while you eat you feel as though your in a youth club as the teenagers gather (although they will vacate tables for you and no swearing or loud intrusive behaviour is tollerated- just wish they'd learn to close doors behind them) On the whole we fully enjoyed our stay at Cardinney Campsite and we would return as its just wonderful

We visited Cardinney on the August bank holiday week. To my surprise it was busy but not overcrowded and the pitches were very spacious and not on top of one another, as sometimes can be the case in the height of season. The campsite seemed to be well maintained, the grass and shrubbery well looked after and was very neat and tidy. There was even bushes separating each pitch which gives extra privacy and an added feeling of space. We were greeted by the friendly owners and was given a short but adequate tour of the site and the facilities. There was one main probelm, and quite a big one at that!
The toilet/showers. What can I say. Disgusting! It was such a let down of such a beautiful looking site. They were old, in some desparate need of some new grouting, they did'nt seem to be cleaned on a regular basis either. It was so bad I didn't want to touch anything in there, and the shower curtain instead of a locked door was also very bizarre and left you feeling very vulnerable. I think some serious money should be spent on increasing the number of showers for a start, and the tiles need to be replaced to create a much more cleaner and inviting looking shower. I hope they do update the facilities as it was such a shame as it was a real let down for me and becasue of this I will not be returning. Great looking site, fab location, but I shudder at the thought of those showers! The worst I've ever seen.

One word, "DISGUSTING".
There were overflowing bins with kids going through the rubbish trying to find stuff to play with. The site was a bog, and most drivers thought it would be fun to use it as a rally course. Worst of all though, were the shower and toilet blocks. Built on the end of the on site bar, they were filthy. Not only were the local spiders in full possession of the place, but the filth was everywhere. There was a tide mark round the skirting, where it has not rotted from the damp that is, and the corners were sludged up with some sort of primeval dirt. Soggy toilet paper and paper was everywhere, the showers were hairy and stained and most of the fittings were worn out. The cubicles had no doors and the shower curtains were stained and threadbare. It took just one night to make us up-sticks and search elsewhere. The blocks were closed for an hour each day for cleaning, but I'm sure the cleaner was asleep, as my wife saw the same pile of dissolving toilet paper on the floor 2 days running.
The owners were friendly enough, but obviously thought the cleaning budget better spent on the 4x4 with private plate, and the brand new mowers that sprayed cutting all over for you to walk into the shower and tent. I'll not return, ever. Go to Kenneggy instead.

We cannot speak too highly of this excellent site.
You are assured a warm and friendly welcome from owners Kev and Liz.
This was our 4th visit and definitely won't be our last!
We have camped on several sites in Cornwall but there are none to match this one. The layout is excellent and the site is very well maintained.
Hardworking Kev is continually improving facilities and nothing is too much trouble for him.
The atmosphere in the bar each evening is brilliant and provided you have a good sense of humour you won't be disappointed in choosing Cardinney!

An excellent site. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay here. A convenient base to tour the area. Our pitch was private, surrounded by shrubs. The facilities were very good, especially the beer at the bar! We will definitely be back next year

The owner was very friendly and the pitch we were on was nice and level and serviced with both electric and water. The track leading to the campsite from the main road was not well maintained and when it rained it became quite flooded. The toilet and shower block were probably some of the worst we have been in. They need some updating and the showers only had a curtain which obviously you are unable to lock, which left you feeling a little uneasy.

I'm a newcomer to camping and this was a fantastic start! The owner was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean (the owner was in the shower block cleaning at 7.00am!).
There was a family argument at midnight when I was there, and the owner was out within minutes, in the pouring rain, and sorted it out very quickly.
