We stayed at this site for ten days mid-late August and really liked the site. We Will certainly stay here again next time we are holidaying in the region.
The field we camped on is large but a steep slope on two sides limits where you can pitch your tent but this wasn't a problem at the time of our visit as there was plenty of space while we were there. Hookup pitches are defined along a fence but if you don't need electric you are free to choose your own space so no regimented lines of tents here.
The washrooms were very clean and we never had to queue for loos and showers, no charge for these and and there was plenty of hot water - although water pressure went off a bit at busy times.Well, having said that I found no problem in the ladies but the males in our family decribed their showers as being more like thin fog.
The showers operate on a press button giving you a preset time, so you have to keep repressing the button and this can be a bit of a nuisance. The lighting in the washroom operates on a sensor - (makes sense as this saves energy) so be warned; if you are in the showers at a time when it is dark and not many people about, you can find yourself covered in shampoo and unexpectedly plunged into darkness. The lesson is, don't hang about too long, I suppose!
Good pot wash (inside) with two sinks and again plenty of free hot water.
Lots of information about the local area is provided in the utility room. A fridge/freezer in there would be an asset but Mrs and Mrs Benney were happy to freeze and refreeze the blocks from our cool box while we were there.
There are recycling bins for plastic bottles, glass and cans and paper.Eggs are available from the farm.
Fabulous local walks and lots to do in the area without having to drive far or spend too much money. Go and see the Cornish Camels a few miles away or explore the lovely beaches nearby. Helston with a good variety of local shops and bigger supermarkets is a great place for a visit and to stock up, a nice park for the children there too.
A minor moan. The unofficial site wardens (the owners' two golden retrievers) patrol the site. They are friendly but there are also inevitable consequences with free roaming dogs.We did report back and the mess was dealt with quickly but not before it had been trodden in. Not sure how this relates to notices reminding dog owners staying on the site to prevent fouling.

Stayed here for 2 weeks
Nice pleasant quiet site in gently sloping field (which drains well)next 2 farm.
I believe the large field has only been open a couple of years as has the new facilities building.
We originally parked in the first field, closest to the farm, but moved after a couple of days due to the flies, so be warned if you park there.
There are 3 rows of hook ups for those who need them plus loads of space for camping without.
The new facilities block consists of mens (2 showers and wc's + 2 urinals), ladies (2 showers and 3 wc's) and disabled room plus a utility room (2 sinks). At the rear is a laundry room which simply contains a sink unit.
These were cleaned spotlessly every day.
There is no children's playground but plenty of space (at least wheb we were there)for plaxing cricket, frisbee etc.
Nearest shops would be in Helston, 4 miles away where there is a 24hr Tesco plus a Somerfield and a good variety of the usual shops HOWEVER a lovely lady with mobile shop visits the site every day (except Sundays) around 10.30am with all the usual requirements (papers,, milk, bacon, sausages, fresh bread plus much, much more).
Fresh eggs are also available at the farm
Bear in mind you are only a couple of miles from RNAS Culdrose so you do get quite a lot of helicopters and aircraft flying over but they are quite interesting and not to much of a problem.
You are only 7 miles from the Lizard with its many, many walks and delightful coastal villages and coves.
All in all a good, clean, quiet site as a base to discover this part of Cornwall.

Beautiful site and location, ideal for the most beautiful, wild beaches. Although we don't have kids, the kids on the local beaches seemed really happy with the sand and the sea (although they were very small!).
If you are not keen on aircraft, this is not the place for you - it's 1.5 miles south of RNAS Culdrose, but this doesn't really disrupt your holiday - the helicopters tended to fly during the day (great displays on the beach!) with one training night on weekdays. There were a couple of Hawk trainers up and about as well whilst we were there, so a little bit of jet noise - but this did NOT detract from our enjoyment.
We stayed on the CL field which was very peaceful and pretty, although at this time of year the owner gives you the choice of main site or CL.
The toilet block consists of Ladies (two shower cubicles, three loos and three washbasins), Gents (two shower cubicles, two loos and some washbasins) plus disabled shower room and utility room for washing up/veg prep. All very new/modern and beautifully maintained. Everybody staying seems to do their bit to mop up after a shower, so it all helps keep it nice for others.
Mobile shop calls every morning and can supply .Well, whatever you want really. Very nice people.
Two Official Site Wardens, Golden Retrievers called Finlee and Candy, did their very best to make our stay a happy one, plus the various cats and the beautiful calves.
I would say it is very suitable for adults but if you have kids, they have to be self-sufficient at making fun - no bad thing these days!
There is plenty to do locally if the weather's bad - Goonhilly Earth Station, National Seal Sanctuary, various gardens, Roskilly's Ice Cream/Fudge (a must!) and that's just on the Lizard - if you go further afield, there is so much to do.
All in all, a very well run site in a beautiful location. Nowhere is really very far away in Cornwall, so getting around the area is no problem (e.G. Falmouth, Truro, Penzance, Land's End, Hayle, Newquay - none of them took very long to get to).
We hope to return next Summer, but will keep a careful eye on the weather forecast! We were really lucky and enjoyed 10 hot, sunny days out of 12.

Stayed here for almost two weeks. Good location but limited facilities. This campsite is a field with a toilet block. Can't remember the charge because it was so low! This site had the best electric supply of any we have visited in the UK or the continent. The toilet block was clean and functional but the floor was not completely level so they got a bit wet sometimes.
It rained quite a lot so at one end things got a bit muddy, but that could not be helped. The proprietor was a farmer - good guy and we heard he recruited a site manager. Very good B& B at the farm (handy for the last night) and the fish and chip van came round.
Excellent but quiet location meant we visited many places in Cornwall. There is also a superstore close at hand and many good places to eat out within a mile or so of the site.
Worth a visit - good value site.

Stayed for the whole of the 6 weeks holiday - lovely place and family. Loads of space around your unit, kids enjoyed the space to play. Showers and toilets a bit basic, but new ones due to be built.
Close to some lovely beaches, within 10 mins drive. If you want slots and lively nightlife, then this is NOT the site for you. We loved it, just chilling with a glass of wine and barbeque at night. The kids enjoyed playing rounders with the other kiddies camping there. Very informal and friendly site, fantastic value for money, just paying a basic rate, not having to pay extra for awning and hook up etc -which pushes the price up! The only downside - if there is one - is that there was some dog muck around the edge of the field - that my children inevitably found! Hoping to go again this year!
