Stayed here for 3 days. Felt very cramped, its obvious they are just cramming people on, there is no privacy at all.
Did not like all the waste bins all stood outside the toilet block, some were overflowing.
One of the worst CC sites we have used. Wont bother again.
Plus a dated but clean toilet/shower block. Helpful staff, but on arrival felt regimented in being told the do's and don'ts etc
The caravan club isnt cheap to use so at £60+ for 3 days we expected more than we got.
I don't think we will be returning anytime soon.

We arrived at the site at 10. 45 and after a brief telling off (no arrivals before 12. 00) were allowed to pull in to the arrivals area, our friends who arrived the following day were not so lucky, they arrived about 10. 30 and were turned away.
The site was rammed with only a handful of pitches available to choose from, some of the pitches were very tight, the posts are placed to protect the grass (fair enough) but no consideration for the caravan, awning & Car, especially when people already in residence have stolen a bit of space. A few more vans arrived and then the bun fight commences to get the pitch you want. It is time that the CC review this approach, pre allocation with a non refundable deposit would be a much better idea.
For younger kids there is a great play area, The toilet block is too small for the site when it is full, 6 maybe 7 showers (mens) for 117 pitches. Make sure you take your own loo roll in the morning just in case, often none left. The wardens do their best to keep it clean, some campers make it extra work for them.
Although the wardens do themselves no favours by being a bit overbearing with the rules; small children on their bikes getting bawled at for going the wrong way on the one way system! That, and the endless laminated signs appearing in the toilet block threatening eviction kept me amused for the fortnight.
What a fantastic location though, 2 miles of dog friendly beach and everything you could possibly need is on your doorstep, M&S, Next, Coop & Lidl 5 min drive, Tesco 15 mins in Carbis Bay. Best route to St Ives is the Park & Ride by Train in Lelant, approx 10 mins away (approx £10 to park & Ride: 2 adults, 2 Kids & 2 Dogs).
In 10 years of caravanning this is only the second area I have wanted to return to (Croyde is my favourite, but we can't stay there now that we have dogs). We have booked again for June 2012, Gwithian Farm this time, a much friendlier site.
Godrevy is the site to visit if you want to se the 'Stereotype' warden in action. The first we have seen in 10 years with the CC.

We stayed on this site at the beginning of the school holidays. We arrived a couple of days before to get a good pitch.
We were on a small area for just 4 caravans and with brother and his wife on one pitch and a couple on another pitch we had a very pleasant uncrowded stay.
There were areas that seemed a bit busy but it was the children's holiday time after all. We had a bit of noise from teenage boys hanging around the toilet block but this is up to their parents to keep tabs on them not the wardens.
The site is very well kept and at times the wardens need to have the patience of a saint! The 12 noon rule is there for a reason.
The wardens were busy cleaning the toilets and caravans were trying to get out when people were turning up at 10am! Yes some children got told to follow the one way system but this too is for a reason. A child was killed on another CC site recently.
We found the wardens very friendly and very helpful. There is a walk across to the beach through the dunes which is a great place to walk the dog.
The beach is huge and dogs are allowed on it at that point. Ours loved the surf!. We will definitely go back again.

Like all Club sites, the site was very clean and kept in lovely condition.
Nice lay-out with lots of small hedges to act as windbreaks, which were really needed during out visit. Site is within walking distance of a pub, the Red River Inn, and takes about 15 minutes to get there across fields to start with and then the road. An OK boozer and was very busy when we went, but that was more to do with being the only pub around rather than its food or ambience - nothing wrong with either, just not very exciting.
A better bet was the Bucket of Blood in Phillack which did lovely grub and a much nicer atmosphere. We cycled and it took about 10 mins to get there (double that to get back and it is all a bit steep from Hayle up to the site. )
Made a really nice trip into St Ives by cycling to Levant Park and Ride and then getting the train in - a lovely journey around the estuary.
St Ives is really lovely and worth a visit. Hayle wasn't very special - some shops which are useful, and a few pubs but none that made us want to visit them. So all in all, a nice site, quite out of the way, but that being a benefit as well as a bit inconvenient.

We stayed here 11 years ago, so thought as we enjoyed it then, we should visit again, we arrived at 11. 45am and parked in front of the gate (1/2 closed) we expected to wait until 12. 00 as the rule is no arrival before 12. 00, but were surprised to be greeted by the warden who opening the gate to allow us onto site.
When we visited this site 11years ago we were expecting to have a choice of pitches, but the choice was few, the pitches felt quite close and as you are allowed to pitch sideways on or conventional this only exacerbates the reduced space. It rained nearly everyday but the grass pitches dealt with it due to its sandy construction.
The site, even though very busy throughout our stay, was very quite. For £1. 00 deposit you can have a key to the gate for easy access from site to the sand dunes across the road.
The reception sells basic camping accessories, ie. loo fluid, pegs, Ice creams, newspapers (order and pay night before, nominally 5p extra)Fish and chips van comes on site Tuesdays and Fridays about 6pm, and a fresh fish van not sure of the day.
WI FI was being installed whist we were on site. Children’s Play area was considered adequate.
The one and only toilet block is well kept, showers are hot, whilst they are being cleaned there is a separate toilet for those emergencies. The laundry room and dish washing are contained in the same area, opposite the toilets, washing machine runs for approx 30mins £3. 00 and 70p for the dryer.
There is only one Chemical Toilet disposal point and this is located in the main toilet block. Lidl is approx 2 miles from the site, with a CO-Op in Hayle town.
If you enjoy Pasties, Philip's Bakery on the estuary in Hayle is a must to visit. The beach is within walking distance, but if you have children and much beach stuff, will be challenging. During our visits to the beach we noticed it was protected by life guards.
If you wander over to the lighthouse near Godrevy Point, take your binoculars so you can see the basking seals on the rocks below.

What a lovely site - immaculate as always with CC.
All pitches were on grass but as the based in sand its not at all water logged on any of the pitches.
Warden who booked us in was super friendly and efficient. Told to choose a pitch and come back let them know site less than half full so we had our pick.
Walks over the dunes were lovely - but we believe there is a key you get on site so you don't have to walk down the busy narrow road (we weren't offered one).
Not too far from St. Ives but the site was very quiet and peaceful when we stayed, but then we were out of the busy season.
Would stay here again and highly recommend.

We stayed here for our main holiday this year, we arrived at about 3 and there were only about 5 pitches left and some of them were not really proper pitches. after staying for two weeks I can understand why on several occasions I saw the wardens let people onto pitches before 12 o'clock! Not so good for the people who follow the rules.
The toilet and shower block was of a good quality and kept clean, the pitches in some areas seemed very crammed together and also the kids playground was not the best I've ever seen, although the warden did tell me they were updating the equipment.
The beach which is nearest to the site is nice but is about a mile walk over the dunes and down a high cliff which is not fun with a load of beach stuff so we travelled down the road to Godrevy beach which was beautiful. As said before the site is very peaceful at night.
Loads of places well worth visiting, Marazion, Penzance, St Ives and swimming in the beautiful clear sea at Sennen Cove is a must. We also enjoyed shell collecting on Hayle beach.
Will definitely be visiting this area again although not next year, a 7 hour trip from the midlands is not fun. But I am undecided if I will visit this site again.

As mentioned below what a fantastic site, we spent nine days here and never had one problem. Come 11pm you woud think your on the site on your own (quiet), as mentioned facilities are top rate.
Not sure if this is new but no mention above is a retail park less than 2 miles away with a boots, m&s, mcdonalds and more if needed.
If I had to choose a bad point about the site the only thing would be the rabbits - poo can get every were if your not careful my kids would bring it in the caravan on there shoes.
Nice park area were we actually hooked up great to entertain the kids and let them meet other kids also keep an eye on them.
Highly recommended would suggest you book a long stay to enjoy.

I can only agree with the other reviews on here but thought I would add my own because the others are now quite dated.
We visited this site last august and have booked to go again at the end of july. The site was full and we had to drive around a few times to find a space I think there were only 3 left when we arrived.
This level site is a very well kept, as all cc sites are. Due to the size and having only one toilet block I thought I might find queues in high season but I never had a problem or had to wait. There are no hard standing on this site but even in rain it is very well drained and never a problem. Tv reception was good. There is a small children's play area on one side of the site. It is popular and is always full in high season. So you need to book early or wait and hope for a cancellation to get in.
It is in a lovely location with lots of walks for those who like walking.
From the site you can walk to the beach or into hayle. The coastal path runs for miles.
In hayle there is a tourist information and a station, trains go to penzance or truro, it is quite easy to park in streets or near the gardens. The local bus is excellent and stops outside the site or a little way down the road. From Penzance you can get an open topped bus that takes you all around the coast to lands end and st ives. It will stop in hayle if you need to get off there. One of my favourite places is the paradise birds worth a visit with or with out children.
Godrevy beach is a NT beach rugged and unspoilt with views all around st ives bay.
The only thing I didn't like on the site were the many caravanners with more than one dog, they seemed to be every where and barking.
For dog lovers I suppose it is also very popular.

We have stayed at this site about five times now & have never been disappointed yet. A lovely place to stay also very easy to get to .
Co op & Aldi very close by also you can walk to the beach or the pub in 10 - 15 mins , perhaps a little longer on the way back .
Will try to return later this year ,
Also may we thank the warden for assisting us with our loss of electric in our caravan , nothing was too much trouble .
