Wonderful site, been back so many times and will continue doing so. The pitches are well laid out and are large enough for caravan, awning and car.
The toilet block is up to the usual cc standards and the Wardens were always friendly.
The gate at the back of the site is very handy if you have a dog who can't wait to do it's business in the mornings, it takes you straight onto the sand dunes once you have crossed the road.
About 5 miles (or less) from the site is Trevaskis Farm Restaurant, it is definitely well worth booking before you go and make sure you are hungry, the portions are enormous especially the deserts. We went there twice during the week we spent in Hayle.

A very pleasant site with very pleasant and helpful staff. Toilet block up to the usual high Caravan club standard. On booking in you can order newspapers and will be provided with a key to the rear gate of the site which provided access onto the wide open dunes leading to the beach. Basic foodstuffs such as bread, milk etc can be purchased from reception. In season strawberries can be purchased, and a fish & chip van visits the site. There is a well stocked tourist information point next to reception. The site is well kept and maintained, with plenty of service points and bins. Rabbits run wild and are quite tame. The site is also sheltered by high hedges. There is a bus service to St Ives and Hayle, although a little infrequent, no official bus stop but you can wave down a bus from outside the site entrance. Its a 45 minute downhill walk to Hayle, allow a little more for you return. There are two well known supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc. In Hayle. The library provides tourist info, has internet and visitors can use all the library facilities (on production of your library card from home). An excellent, clean site, ideal for families.

What I liked about the site is that it is broken up into a series of small bays or areas divided by hedging. This helps break up regimented lines of vans. The pitch we had was very roomy (most are) and there were only 6 other vans in 'our' bit. The whole area is flat so no problems in leveling the van and the soil is light/sandy and drains freely. Showers and facilities very good, but no hair dryers supplied in the ladies. Wardens very friendly and helpful. No sign of the 'strawberry man' as mentioned above, but the fish and chip man calls twice a week closely followed by the ice cream van! Great for people with dogs as a back gate (need a key from reception) leads onto a lane which takes you down to the sand dunes and then onto the beach where dogs are allowed. Very relaxed informal feeling to the site. Highly recommended

June 2004 Having been in the Caravan Club for over 15 years, we've rarely used the 'Club' sites, tending to stick with the smaller 'CL's'. What a revelation this site was. The site is in between the small-ish villages of Hayle and Gwithian, on the North Cornish Coast. Set in flat, sandy, secluded fields, the site seems much smaller than it actually is. The wardens, Ian, Margaret, Dave & Jenny must take full credit for the hard work that's obviously been put in to this place. The main toilet/shower block is immaculate, at any time of day or night! There is plenty of free hot water for the showers, wash basins and dishwashing sinks. There's even a free shower to wash off the sand from your wetsuits, which we found very useful! There are recycling facilities too which we thought was a great idea. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly wardens, from advising us on the best place to swop my large gas bottle for two smaller ones, or trying to sell my kid's wetsuits which they'd outgrown. Indeed, many other members had the same idea! Papers were delivered daily, as were fresh milk and bread. There were visits to site by vendors selling freshly picked strawberries, (which went down very well with scones and clotted cream sold on site!) and twice weekly visits by a mobile chippy for those days when cooking was too much like hard work after a full day in the sun, lazing on the fantastic beaches around... Just a short walk from the site across the dunes is the magnificent beach, which stretches from Godrevy Point, with it's magnificent lighthouse just offshore, right round to Hayle Towans. The dunes themselves are worth exploring, many trails twisting and turning giving surprise views at every turn across St. Ives Bay. If anyone does venture into St. Ives, take the train from Lelant Saltings Park & Ride. This only costs between £5-£6 per car load, and takes alot of the weight off the traffic system in the town itself! Other places worth visiting are Penzance for shopping, and Lands End. Although Lands End has in my opinion been spoiled by the over commercialisation of the rugged landscape, it's still possible to park up, and meander along the cliffs looking out to the Wolf Rock Light, and further beyond to the Scillies on a clear day! Go at sunset for a blood red feast, which seems to linger on into the dusk for ever! Returning to the campsite in the early evening, barbeques were fired up and a few drinks consumed with no hassle from noisy neighbours, or barking dogs, or boisterous kids. The main gate was closed, though left unlocked for the late returners from the pub down the road in Gwithian. All was quiet (apart from us) by 11pm, and we slept like logs until woken by the sun through the blinds, ready for another day, another beach! We will be booking for this site again, for the same time next year, without a shadow of a doubt!
